I went to this race every year from the time I was 9 months old up until I moved out of the state at 18 years old. I experienced all that I could at those ages from being in a Skybox, to being down in the pits and getting my Tony Stewart hat signed by his entire pit crew when I was 8 years old, to being down on victory lane, being out in pouring down rain in the dark sticking out overtime or walking around in insane heat, you name it I did it in those 18 years. That track is the reason I have a Nascar license in my wallet and am racing hometracks now. Alot of really good memories were made there. It may turn out not thrilling races but you know what I have deep roots at that track and am disappointed they are destroying it as superspeedway.
I'll always love this track. I grew up in San Bernardino a huge Jeff Gordon fan so being able to come here as a kid was awesome. I'll be sad to see it go. Hope they rebuild a better more exciting track though
It's a half-mile configuration because they want to sell the land. It's going to be boring and demolished in a few years. LVMS is the only hope for speedway racing as a CA fan. It's so tiresome.
It's a unique track being 2 miles long. It is one of 2 tracks where the racing line extends from the wall to the apron and everything in between. It has produced some of the highest speeds we have ever seen in NASCAR and Indycar. Demolishing Auto Club speedway is a loss for American motorsports.
Tbh I love this track. I’m sad to see it go. They should have had it as a night race tho, I think it’d have a better atmosphere to it if it was a night race. They could have at least tried it

Tear down a track that actually produces competitive races. While going back to the Indy oval, Pocono, and Kansas. Great job NASCAR 🙈
