Saw the movie out in Korea. If you like the last movie you will love this one. It was such a fun movie. My only complaint was that it coulda been longer but that’s it
@@space1734 exactly. They are literally using Godzilla name as a movie name with him just there as a side character. Does this director's think that Godzilla fan will be happy as long as they Godzilla fight? It's because of Godzilla fan's that this Kong movies are making money.
Cris you are absolutely right about KoTM but your thought that GvK in the tone of the first Godzilla film would be boring like KoTM is totally off. A GvK film in that tone would've slapped especially if developed the Hollow Earth correctly. They could've made it how they originally did where the tunnels connect the hollow Earth and make it easier for them to travel around the Earth, some kaijus start making their way to Skull Island, Kong finds out about the tunnels makes his way onto actual populated land, Godzilla goes to him to try to control him and they fight for dominance right there. It would've been amazing seeing a character like Ford just experiencing that from the ground and show the actual scale of Godzilla and Kong.
Understand what you're saying is presumption of what you think would happen based on one movie not a fact. I see it all the time where people presume this or that would happen if this or that was done. Fans often get lost in their own reality forgetting that these films are not their own ideas to know how these fictional stories will play out. I do believe presumption plays a major role in the negativity that goes on against movies in today's world.
I had great fun with this movie. If you grew up with this series you see what the director was doing. Yes ...Hollywood updated it and made it grounded with the 2014 Godzilla but it was obvious where the series was heading. Can they go back to the grounded concept? Yes but it would have to be a different director with that vision.
GXK made me have an existential crisis (BUT IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE) I can never look at nature with disrespect ever again, this movie just made me love nature and kaiju just SO MUCH!!! (even tho I did since 2016) I still wanna go back to the theater :(
I went the first time and it was great. Brought my son and nephews the 2nd time and it was even better. They really were cracking up at Bernie. Great job lots of fun
It’s a fun which monsters fight each other don’t care for humans. I liked it very much and I loved every moment of kong. Only thing I wish the last fight scene was a little longer. But still good movie. Critics are dumb.
I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVE ❤ GxK !!! I don't know what people expect from this movie. 😂 I defend my Monsterverse. Great one Chris 👍 By the way #TeamKong as well. 🎉🎉🎉
This hit me right in my inner 5 year old back when i played with my godzilla toy in the tub. me and the kids on the other side of the theater were the only ones cheering at the action : P also as a zilla fan i was ok with kong being the lead in this one.
I actually just watched this today, I am happy that people liked it, but I still want to give you my honest opinion though. I didn't like it, I don't know if it was just me or not, but for some reason, the film looked all choppy and blurry, especially when it the fights started happening, which is weird to see that in the theaters. I don't know if it was just the harkins I was in, but for some reason, even though the previews looked fine, the film didn't. The movie started to get all blurry looking and only didn't look bad when either a character was right focused on the camera or if it was in a dark setting, and it was giving me a headache. And do to that blurry parts, it made it hard to watch the fights. Aside from that being my main problem, the only other one is how much they focus too much on kong and very little about godzilla. That is just my opinion though, I am happy a lot of people are enjoying it. I respect you guys' opinion
Just so ya know ,Chris, I loved the movie and in my personal opinion, it's my favorite of the monsterverse . I loved the cartoony tone, tge humans didn't annoy me and I was slightly entertained by them. And as someone who loves godzilla,I really love kong in this
From my understanding this was suppose to be a Son of Kong movie and they added Godzilla to help draw in views. I think that's why Godzilla was only in like little sections here and there.
The Movie was Great imo, felt a little rushed but I seen it in IMAX the other day and visually it was stunning! Heard one person in the theater comment about the effects a little but other than that I was hyped up the whole movie!!🍿 🔥
I wonder what’s next for the monster verse I do hope we get Godzilla and Kong solo movies for now,I do love them teaming up but I want to see them by them self and fight there villains
I was ok . I enjoyed Godzilla king of the monsters more sadly but that’s my opinion 6/10 for me sorry I wish it was more like Godzilla 2014 or king of the monsters though and I hope this isn’t the last movie. 🍿
I saw the movie yesterday. And sadly I was pretty let down. Skar king was introduced way too late to make any impact and the human plot line this time around was a slog. Even Dan Steven’s charisma couldn’t save it for long. Despite being the same length as GvK it felt so much longer due to the terrible pacing. Even the fights don’t feel nearly as epic as GvK. The only redeeming factor was the King Kong and suko scenes. I wanted to love the movie so bad, but by the time Skar king finally shows up over an hour into the movie, I was so mentally checked out that I didn’t care anymore. Maybe I’ll enjoy more on the second watch. (and before anyone says it: I am NOT comparing it to minus one. I’m only comparing it to GvK, wingard previous monsterverse movie, which I loved)
The human plot line was fine, in fact I found it easily more entertaining than any of the MV characters (except skull island). I thought this movie EASILY felt shorter because it feels like I’m being rushed to watch, they keep making these movies so short and there’s not enough time to develop ANYONE. The sets and fights were easily more epic than GVK, there’s just not enough of team fights.
@@eduardoescobedo904 comparing GvK to GxK is perfectly fine. They’re made by the same people, starring the same characters with essentially the same story. One was just executed much better. I know wingard can do much better and that’s why I was so disappointed
I agree with you about Godzilla KOTM. for me, it's at the bottom of the list of all the Monsterverse movies if I were to rate them from worst to best. The human characters in that movie were the most insufferable and annoying out of all the other ones that they literally brought down the movie and made it unenjoyable. The story was uninteresting, the Monarch agents looked like a bunch of fools trying to stop the enemy, and Godzilla fighting Ghidorah scenes were the only thing that mattered. Serizawa's sacrifice was the best moment in the entire movie, it made it feel like that scene didn't belong in the movie lol. Millie bobby brown's character and her mother were the worst and most annoying part of the movie. Jia and Dr Ilene had a much better mother-daughter relationship than them.
I was going into this movie looking for a fun time, watching giant monsters throwing hands, not a deep and developed story and I got what I wanted from the movie. 8/10
Seen it last night, movie was fire and entertaining all throughout, this should definitely not be compared to Godzilla minus one which was a completely different take on the character, I'd give it a solid 9.5/10
Haven't seen the movie yet, but I saw the new Ghostbusters movie and it wasn't good at all. Too many human talking scenes and barely any ghost and action scenes.
I loved the movie and I think the reasons for these negative reviews, are very ridiculous. "Theres to much CGI"! Its a King Kong, Godzilla Movie. "There only interested in making the scenes look cool"! Once Again!... "Theres to many Monsters"! Good! If there weren't many Kaiju's. Are we just supposed to watch a Depressed Kong get some dental work and Godzilla take a nap before getting an energy drink? I agree Godzilla did not get a lot of screen time. But also Godzilla has had his story told in 3 of the past 5 movies they've made in this monsterverse. Where Kong has about 1.5. So I understand why this story would lean more toward King Kong's journey. And the Dr's Short Haircut looks good. That dudes just a hater.
The fact that a lot of the negative reviews are comparing this to Minus One really is really disheartening (especially given how different the two movies are). Minus One getting a lot of praise is great, but not if that praise comes at the expense of the rest of the franchise...
Critics roasted madam web Audience roasted madam web, its flop Critics roasted GxK Audience loved GxK, its a hit I wonder who is more important for movie! 👀
My thing is, I hate when people complain about how fast or sometimes small the titans seem. But my thing is, this movie is ABOUT THE FREAKIN TITANS. We are mainly seeing the world from their perspective know (mainly and especially Kong). The previous movies focused more on the human perspective, which would make sense as to why the titans look like they move slow and are extra heavy, it looks more menacing to a human. But, following a titan around and seeing from their perspective, it would make sense that their movements look faster/normal speed. It's a dumb complaint to me.
From beginning to end I balled out laughing the action was funny asf the cgi was really good like the scenes where everyones like guys we needa save kong like his a giant monkey bruh 💀yay Godzilla our hero meanwhile Godzilla (swimming though the bridges with cars flood cities klling people) and the best part when the studio actually thought we cared about the human characters 💀 I started laugh bruh at them that scene where the mum and daughter are like saying goodbye like honestly I felt like there deadass was a studio executive standing behind me and me and my friends all felt like that like you know that feeling where your at school and they’re talking serious and shit and outta no way your starts laughing at wrong time and you burst out laughing and the teacher locks eyes with you and says “no funny this serious” like deadass the studio thought we would care but the 1 stars are dumb I give it 7/10 cause of the fights
This entire universe seems like it can’t catch a break from critics except for Monarch. When it started with Godzilla 2014, I remember people *endlessly* complaining and moaning about how “where’s all the monster action, especially Godzilla? I thought this was a Godzilla movie and the humans are a snore fest in monster movies anyways”. Then, jump to now and now it’s like “nah, too much monster stuff/lore building for the monsters, humans need to be developed more” like, make up your damn mind! xD
The intent is to have "Fun" with this movie. Minus One, which is a Love Letter to the entire franchise! Had the intent to "Feel with Emotion, sadness and terror" which is what I felt from start to finish and my heart kept beating! Therefore, you cannot compare the 2!! That's what I hate how the critics and some of the community is tearing down this film! I am not going to this film to expect to feel "terror, depression, or scarce!" If anything I can expect to have "Heartwarming" moments. The 2 directors have already sat down with each other and both agreed that Godzilla can indeed be expressed in different perspectives! His story can be expressed in a Horror like Perspective and also a Action-fun like perspective! Both being well balanced! So yes I am going with the intention to NOT gain any attachments to the human characters because if I am being really honest here that has been a trend since 2014 in my opinion. GVK stands to be my favorite Monsterverse film even to this day and it has the WORST human characters being real here! But I looked at what really matters in these films and that is the Monsters! Which is what I am once again looking at with GXK. Sadly I do hear alot of left and right about it but you know what I am still hyped for this film. I am expecting the flaws! But I am really looking forward to the Action-Fun from this film!
I think critics don't know the meaning of the word fun. If you see the trailers it is clearly a movie to have fun and relax with, if you want high tension drama shit... wait for Destroyah.

was nice hearing all the song energy bits that came from him
thanks for the reminder about Letterboxed
i kind of forgot how all over the place and a little more reflective those reviews can be of a movie.
Saw the movie out in Korea. If you like the last movie you will love this one. It was such a fun movie. My only complaint was that it coulda been longer but that’s it
Bro. Why they hating it? Adam worked hard for the film and people don’t like it? Yall fake fans bruh.
I agree 😂the mfs not real Fas
I'm a kaiju fan and mostly a Godzilla fan.
Monsters Verse now is only focusing around monkey rather than focusing on Godzilla and other new kaiju's.
It doesn't make sense for Godzilla fans to not hate this. They've been tricked to watch a Kong movie.
@@space1734people have been expecting that since GVK, which was also a kong movie
@@space1734 exactly. They are literally using Godzilla name as a movie name with him just there as a side character.
Does this director's think that Godzilla fan will be happy as long as they Godzilla fight?
It's because of Godzilla fan's that this Kong movies are making money.
It's our money and we want to spend it on this movie... Why would we listen to them ?
(even tho I did since 2016) I still wanna go back to the theater :(
The title cards felt like your walking into a new location in video game with the title every new area music 💀
I went the first time and it was great. Brought my son and nephews the 2nd time and it was even better. They really were cracking up at Bernie. Great job lots of fun
Cook em’ Chris!
@TWDubcool
I think people are honestly just hating to hate for no reason they just want to compare it to Minus one
It’s a fun which monsters fight each other don’t care for humans. I liked it very much and I loved every moment of kong. Only thing I wish the last fight scene was a little longer.
But still good movie. Critics are dumb.
if they made more of these movies they could afford to have one or two less serious ones but I thought it was mostly good
Chris was finna bury Emma 😂😂😂😂😂 & “i don’t dislike” = 5/10, 8/10 = 1 Star ?????? 😂😂😂😂
critics: its all cgi..... why dont they just hire a giant monkey and a big lizard for the role of kong and godzilla
😁😁😂😂
Critics seem to be allergic to fun
I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVE ❤ GxK !!! I don't know what people expect from this movie. 😂 I defend my Monsterverse. Great one Chris 👍 By the way #TeamKong as well. 🎉🎉🎉
That softospoken "they don't speak in the movie" gave me a fit 😂
Well, I'm gonna see this film tonight and I don't think the reviews for this one really matter as it's Godzilla and Kong kick a** once again.
To me the fights were just a little to short😫😫I wish the fights were longer some parts felt rushed a bit but it was very enjoyable
If i wasn't +13k km far from you, i'd watch it with you in the theatre. Saw it not 1 hour ago.. & i freakin' LUV'd it! 👌♥️😊🦍🐲
The only problem is pacing because skarking appeared too late
Just so ya know ,Chris, I loved the movie and in my personal opinion, it's my favorite of the monsterverse . I loved the cartoony tone, tge humans didn't annoy me and I was slightly entertained by them. And as someone who loves godzilla,I really love kong in this
From my understanding this was suppose to be a Son of Kong movie and they added Godzilla to help draw in views. I think that's why Godzilla was only in like little sections here and there.
I loved Ironman Kong and Super sayian Godzilla!! Super Sayian Godzilla charging up like he's Vegeta about to shoot off a final flash was super cool!!
Yep. That's true man.
@nicholas A. Never compare a movie to another
No, you should. Most of the time. This is one of the times you should.
@@eduardoescobedo904 comparing GvK to GxK is perfectly fine. They’re made by the same people, starring the same characters with essentially the same story. One was just executed much better. I know wingard can do much better and that’s why I was so disappointed
3:57 you took a 180° turn 😆
Favoritism
"I'll try not to spoil it"
*Immediately spoils it*
I agree with you about Godzilla KOTM. for me, it's at the bottom of the list of all the Monsterverse movies if I were to rate them from worst to best.
I just saw GxK... amazing! I loved it!
Bruh i just saw the movie, i legit almost cried 😂 i was glued to the screen because HANDS WERE THROWN . Go see this movie trust me
Minus one brought alot of tourists fans that pretend they know what these movies are supposed to be like
I was going into this movie looking for a fun time, watching giant monsters throwing hands, not a deep and developed story and I got what I wanted from the movie. 8/10
Rotten Tomatoes Critics don’t know how to have fun with movies, they think they are Martin Scorsese
China now feels how we feel when they take one of properties & give it goofy story's & assest... talking about COD & what they did to Codm
Seen it last night, movie was fire and entertaining all throughout, this should definitely not be compared to Godzilla minus one which was a completely different take on the character, I'd give it a solid 9.5/10
3C’s hairy cheeks ❤
Haven't seen the movie yet, but I saw the new Ghostbusters movie and it wasn't good at all. Too many human talking scenes and barely any ghost and action scenes.
It's weird how they kept Phoebe's Lesbian Relationship with a Female Ghost out of all of the Trailers and Advertising for the Movie.
This film isn't actually that great.
I thought the movie was fun! 👍
Minus One got em tricked lol. Do not want that style of film wit these superstars !!!
I felt the same way about king of the. This is what kotm should have been, or at least the final battle.
Movie was actually great and i went in it not thinking it would be good but really enjoyed my time watching it.
It feel like people will either compare it to minus one or the problem that godzilla is pink or its the plot in my thought thats my thought
Good to know that you know Dave Lee 👍
The fact that a lot of the negative reviews are comparing this to Minus One really is really disheartening (especially given how different the two movies are). Minus One getting a lot of praise is great, but not if that praise comes at the expense of the rest of the franchise...
Critics roasted madam web
Audience roasted madam web, its flop
Critics roasted GxK
Audience loved GxK, its a hit
I wonder who is more important for movie! 👀
When critics say they like it, but give bad score 😂😂
My thing is, I hate when people complain about how fast or sometimes small the titans seem. But my thing is, this movie is ABOUT THE FREAKIN TITANS. We are mainly seeing the world from their perspective know (mainly and especially Kong). The previous movies focused more on the human perspective, which would make sense as to why the titans look like they move slow and are extra heavy, it looks more menacing to a human. But, following a titan around and seeing from their perspective, it would make sense that their movements look faster/normal speed. It's a dumb complaint to me.
Dude the movie was awesome! It was fun and silly just like ones that I use to watch with my dad.
This is the same thing with transformers rise of the beast a movie made for fans
Then, jump to now and now it’s like “nah, too much monster stuff/lore building for the monsters, humans need to be developed more” like, make up your damn mind! xD
my birthday is march 29th and i was hoping for spider verse but I got GxK...i can say I'm the furthest thing from disappointed i love this movie
The truth is, you know what this is. I'm not really into the monsterverse movies but I'm a Godzilla fan, and they focus more on Kong!
I think critics don't know the meaning of the word fun. If you see the trailers it is clearly a movie to have fun and relax with, if you want high tension drama shit... wait for Destroyah.
@@La_Cadavre NO MOFO..... we want good movie with good script, with good human character..... but nah because of dumb fans like you, Hollywood will keep making those boring CGI movies
If the critics score is low don’t let that lower your expectations for a movie
This is the Mario 2023 movie all over again. I don't care about Rotten Tomatoes. I want to see Godzilla and Kong fighting other monsters.
