    Usyk has cemented himself as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time. Undisputed cruiserweight champion, undisputed heavyweight champion, beat a guy who was 50lbs bigger than him TWICE, and remains undefeated. He won this rematch with Fury by an even wider margin than the first imo, his footwork, conditioning and combination punching allowed him to box circles around Fury. If Usyk hasn't proved that he could've been a champ in any generation of HW Boxing, then I don't know what does.

  • @laurenc2976
    @laurenc2976 Месяц назад +11

    Fury is 55 pounds heavier and 6 inches taller than Usyk and still didn't annihilate him or even come close to it despite his giant size. Even if you think he deserved higher scores from the judges, he still didn't do enough and hardly brought any aggression or urgency whatsoever. Usyk got better and better as the rounds progressed.

    Buddy trying to say Fury had a better record than AJ in the 2010’s is beyond laughable. Not only did Fury not defend his belts, he was inactive for years due to mental health issues / a PED ban. AJ defended his titles consistently and was active the whole time. The comparison between the two in 2010’s is actually pretty disrespectful to AJ and his contributions to boxing.

    Usyk’s a generational talent! Brian’s opinion on what it takes to beat him is flawed. Boxing’s a lot more than pressing a man for 6 rounds. It’s very nuanced. Usyk’s smart enough to make his opponents’ ability to walk him down and hurt him very difficult. Eddie Hearn said this to Brian in an interview as well. It’s much easier said than done. You can’t make an argument about Usyk being a tactical genius and simultaneously oversimplify what it would take, technically, to beat him.

    Even if Fury beat Usyk tonight, I still don't believe he would have been the best of this era because guys, his resumé absolutely sucks. Usyk after just 7 fights at HW has a better resumé than Fury. All Fury has ever done is fight an almost 40 year old Klitschko who was in his 68th fight, and at the very end of his career. And people always seem to ignore this fact. The fight before Klitschko was Christian Hammer who Fury had to beat to get the title fight with Vlad. But Fury took peds to win that fight. UKAD wanted him disqualified, his purse taken from him, and the title fight to be cancelled. But what happened? The results of the drug tests didn't come back until after the Klitschko fight. (Rather conveniently) All Fury's other opponents were just mediocre fighters except Wilder, who was even less than mediocre. Wilder was a bum who fought worse bums, so Fury's wins over him were nothing special at all. And the people who thought Fury was the greatest of all time, well that's just an insult to every other true great. Fury was indeed a good boxer, but he had all the natural advantages because of his height, weight, and reach. And just look at all the half decent boxers he has avoided. He only fought Usyk because the money was ridiculous. Hence "greedy belly." Apologies for the lengthy comment, but his fanboys should know this.
