This movie and Kickboxer are the main reason why I started doing martial arts. It had a huge influence on me. Around that time there were a lot of martial arts movies coming out, which was really cool. Ofcourse not all of them were good, but what a great era to grow up in!
And let me guess. All of those movies involved white guys learning to do martial arts better than the Asians who invented and practiced them for centuries. Now where have we seen this before? Oh yeah, that's basically the script of every martial arts movie made in Hollywood.
@@Skyknight12 Good guess, but you're wrong lol. I don't judge people by their nationality or skin color. Like Bruce Lee said (who isn't white): Under the sky there is but one family, it's just so that people are different. I train with all sorts of different people from different cultures and we get along real good. Maybe you should try to look at what we have in common as people instead of what the differences are. Have a good one.
@@KiLLaB070 Funny that you should bring up Bruce Lee. Did you know that Bruce Lee, a literal Chinese martial arts expert, lost the role of a Shaolin monk to David Carradine - a white guy who at that time had no knowledge of martial arts? And don't get me started on Iron Fist. This basically is how Hollywood treats Asians and always has. I didn't say that you judge people by their race but the films that you speak so glowingly about that the people who wrote them and made money off of them do just that. So much for that one family under the sky, eh?
@@Skyknight12 And who the fuck cares? I use to love this movie as a kid. Brings back good memories of the feeling of seeing this for the first time. I thought it was the coolest thing...... Now looking at this makes me realize how far we've come with fighting scenes in movies. This is sooooo corny lol. But it was great for its time.
Also MMA becoming mainstream causes this to not age well. We now see how fighters manage distance, use footwork, threaten takedowns, tie up now. While this is how we imagined it, in reality it looks much different.
When you find out how many tier 1 kickboxers started because of their love of the movie Blood Sport and anything Van Damme you’d realize it’s pretty lit. Compared to other fight scenes Van Damme was truly light years ahead. He actually has amazing kicks too. For example. Mirko Cro Cop trained specifically watching Van Damme when he first started.
Sooo haunting... this scene was a part of my growing up... when I thought I was invincible and immortal because of these heroes... Luv u both Jeanne and Bolo ❤️ stay blessed

Goated movie right here. I think Spike TV having this on like every 1-2 days (Movies for guys who like movies) really drilled this into me as my favorite of all time.
@ Stanlayy7000 --- You did not make a sentence. As it reads, you are stating that Bolo, as a child, was one of the villains being rooted for. The next complete sentence may work. "As *children,* Bolo was one of the villains we always rooted for, no matter which film he was in."

So as I..

All I’m saying is his ability to kick is fuckin amazing!! It ages very well for me!! (No hate)
Van Damme is actually a grandfather of mma. Maybe a great grandfather. Dudes intertwined rewatch that shit!!:)
Sooo haunting... this scene was a part of my growing up... when I thought I was invincible and immortal because of these heroes... Luv u both Jeanne and Bolo ❤️ stay blessed

Never watched any of this but this scene was the most uunintentionally hilarious thing ive ever seen.
Dude, you have to watch the movie. You won't be disappointed. It's total cheese whiz lol but it's a classic.
Bolo's pecs are insane that they almost look freakish. He's more chest than human. The dude scared me when I was a little lad.
I miss watching movies like this on TV back in the day 😪
The soundtrack is very very nice. One of my favourite films of all times. The music arrangement is amazing. ❤️❤️❤️
Do you know this song
THE CHINESE GUY CHEATED BUT HE WON.

When
I remember watching this movie as a child with my parents and it was on VHS 📼 unforgettable childhood memories.
Must have watched this 600 times on VHS.

This was freaking epic when I was a kid!!! Still inspiring for me today.
When I was in Haiti this movie was everything. Love it 😀 😍 ❤
Great
The music is fantastic. What a great soundtrack this movie has. Pure 80s.
They may as well just announce their attacks as they happen: “Special attack cocaine face!!”
😂 🤣
Pocket sand!
@@joeyhahm713 when I was a kid I used to think pocket sand like king of the hill too. But watching this now I feel like he was drugged 😂
It was crack!!
@@algomez8563 yep crack…. COCAINE 😂
@@JosePineda-jn8jk Hahahaha. Well yes but no. Cocaine is considered much more "sophisticated" than Crack and Chong Li looks like he is cheap.
Da hora 😊
When he can't see, and the flashback comes in his mind no words can describe that feeling, just awesome.
How much do you bench press?
Chun Li: "Yes"
Lol.....it's Chong Li, Chun Li is from Street Fighter 2 the video game. Question to her would be how much do you squat? 👍👍
@@luckyrockmore2796 that's hilarious actually. I remember her and her super buffed legs
This was the movie that motivated me to start training in the martial arts.
Kino tarixinin ən gəzəl döyüş səhnələrindən biri .Mükəmməl sountrack döyüşü daha da drammatikləşdirirdi.
Belə bir filmi izlədiyimizə görə ,Təşəkkürlər Van Damm,Təşəkkürlər Bolo Yong.
When I was young, I was admiring such scenes.
But know, when I learned a bit about martial arts, those scenes only make me laugh :P No professional would want to fight like that ;)
Its a movie. Most of fighters use defensive techniques throughout the entire fight thus making the fights boring.
No professional would ever fight the way they would fight in any movie that features fighting except for maybe the movie Warrior and even then.....
@Matthew Calimbas actually I've seen people in real life fight same as in these movies.I saw a martial arts expert do some of these moves in film in real life.so it definitely works and happens
Seeing this in 4K is crazy most of us watched this on blurry TVs growing up
Yet somehow it looks exactly the same
Only heard abt it then, no tv

As a kid I watched this , went in the backyard and started kicking the banana tree… then my dad kicked my ass. 😒😒
You made me laugh 😆
Lol
😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hope the banana tree was ok.
Mr.Bolo knows martial arts to the core.
I love the synthwave of the 80-90 action movies :D
was nice of dude to take a vacation while frank remembered his training

These Van Damme fight scenes that I watched when I was a kid are great, watching them now u realize just how cheesy they are lol.
As a kid this movie 🎥 never gets old. I could watch this movie 🎥 once a month as a kid
Goated movie right here. I think Spike TV having this on like every 1-2 days (Movies for guys who like movies) really drilled this into me as my favorite of all time.
As a child Bolo was one of the villains we always rooted for, no matter which film
Yeah man that dude was scary as a motherfucker
Facts! I'd pay good money to watch him knock the life outta Seagal
@ Stanlayy7000 --- You did not make a sentence. As it reads, you are stating that Bolo, as a
child, was one of the villains being rooted for. The next complete sentence may work.
"As *children,* Bolo was one of the villains we always rooted for, no matter which film he was in."
