Splitting a stone with a Bosch GBH 4-32 DFR rotary hammer

  • We are currently renovating an old granary. We had to remove a large stone in front of a door to be able to make a new foundation. I have no idea how my grandfather has been able to put that stone in front of the door in 1950's and without any modern machinery. That stone was too large for our front loader to lift so I had to split it in two. For the work I used wedges and a Bosch GBH 4-32 DFR rotary hammer.

    Oh! So this must be what causes the grooves you sometimes see in large rocks around.

      Yes, technique is pretty much the same even if you're using bigger machines.
