I'm driving a 718 with GPS for a year now, and at first i wasn't so sure to get the GPS on the tractor (it is a profi plus) but now i'm so happy that i did, it's the most usefull thing you'll have !
Nice to see you work a fendt, I run all rigs across the fendt range. 5, 6, 7, 8, 900’s and a couple 1038/1050’s. you have such a positive outlook on farming and I have thought about you and watched your videos when I’m out in the middle of nowhere. Take it easy mate!
Well jonny... A 1000 years ago in 1995-96,,,,,, i used to work not far from your farm... Maybe From your 1st upload ive been watching! Over the time you have mentioned some landmarks around so decided to look up your farm name and what the heck i reconise that area???. I was at the Walter, Sutton Grange Farm just out of Lound. Good times for me. Awsum people in the village...... The people I met, the land I worked and the very professional farmers in that area, i reflect on often and have left a solid impression in my day to day work ethic. Im sorry to hear about your Dad. Im just at the set in with dementia with my old boy, so time to take some concrete pills! That experience all those years ago lead me to a job in hybrid vegetable seed company in mid Canterbury in New Zealand as a Agronomist now. 20yrs now. You live in the ver best part of the UK!!! Very Kindest Regards Phil.
its bloody great to see you back jonny, I truly love your videos, and I hope you and you family are getting through this devastating time and I truly know what your going through, my Dad died suddenly without warning 8 years ago, and not a single day goes by where I dont think of him. I hope your ok dude M@x
That must have been awful for you max. I’m so sorry to hear that! This has been a very long drawn out illness so it wasn’t a surprise, I knew it would happen it was just a matter of when. So I can’t imagine how hard that must of been to loose your dad without any warning at all.
Thank you for your kind words jonny that means a lot to me more so with what your going through, it was a very hard time, for months I kept expecting him to call me, or pop in to see his grandchildren, it took a while to sink it, more so for my mother her whole world fell apart. Love the videos cant wait for the next m6 your doing great M@x
Fantastic to have you back proper, Johnny! Very informative video, should I ever find myself having to use the GPS of a 500hp Fendt XD ! Anyway, all the best and here's to another ELEVEN (not 10 anymore!) thousand subscribers!
You never know! If there is ever a zombie invasion and you end up in a fendt 1050 and have to plot a course using GPS through a hoard of zombies.... You’l know exactly what to do!! Lol 😂
Hi Jonny, Thank you for the very educational video mate! I find learning all this information so enjoyable! Looking forward to the next one, take care mate :)
savage video mate, nice to see some diffrent kit in work all we have here is sidewinder, but we have never used a gps well only for fert spreading and spraying, great video lad keep up the savage work always a pleasure to watch
Got Trimble and greenstar on our farms. I do like the look of the fendt gps. Just got to hope we go fendt next year lol cheers for the vid jonny. Well explained
Greenstar is very good, I think it’s one of the best GPS systems out there, but don’t tell anybody lol The fendt system is really very good, simple to use and very accurate. With some nice little features to make life less complicated:)
good choice of biscuit matey :D and with the bonus footage im always singing random stuff...makes me feel like im going mental after like 12 hours plus in a cab :D :D
Jonny, I admire your work. Doing videos well AND actually getting some work done as well is not easy! Typically one or the other suffers immensely! My question to you if you have a moment, is when you setup an implement in GPS for work that day. How much overlap do you typically set in so that you cover everything and dont miss small slivers? Thank you and keep the videos coming!
Way too technical for an old fogie like me! I think modern tractor driving should be left to you “younger” chaps! I’ll stick to my vintage tractors!! Great video as always Jonny - watch those chocolate Hob Nobs don’t put too much weight on. Ha ha.
I’m sure you’d pick it up Trevor! My fordson major is harder to drive than the fendt! Lol Too late on the putting on weight front...I’ve double in size in the last few years :)
Nice video!! Dont you ever use the border in the Fields? Is it possible to use the border as A-B and contour? So if your take one lap around the field with the correct setting of tool and using the border function. Which wayline should you use to be able to autosteer the second lap?
Yes, I can use that function on my case it has a headland mapping setting. Which I will have to use when I get GPS section control on my drill. Though I personally like to put a separate wayline for each side of the field, I’ve always found it to be more accurate that way :)
My chap wants change the machines we have in the business but keep the Fendt 1050. What do you suggest selling all our Tractors back to the dealership because the oldest is 2 years old or sell private? We have 7 Massey at moment but which would you suggest it's between Deutz, Case and Fendt? Hope you don't think being big headed because we're not like that. Were not gonna do it for couple years by negotiation with dealerships can last long time lol?
Nice one jonny but I'm not sure about you biscuit choice though! Plus I'm still not sure how you keep your cab so clean! If you get bored you can come clean mine! 😂👍
Not sure of my biscuit choice!! What other biscuit can be the indestructible oat’y goodness of a hob nob!?? Lol I clean it out everyday without fail, last thing at night the whole cab gets dusted and polished. I use kitchen floor wipes and caustic TFR in a spray bottle to get rid of any stains or marks. :)
I reckon the simple pleasure of milk chocolate covered biscuit such as a milk chocolate digestive with a proper cup of Yorkshire tea can not be beaten 😂. Oh heck, if you clean your cab like that then you don't wanna sit in my trac cab, wipe your feet on the way out type job! 😕😂.
Not as terrifying complicated as i was led to believe the Fendt software thats pretty strait forward and not to different to other manufactures. interesting video Mr hob nob , i have a thing for jaffa cake's like wise and now i am feeling hungry lol.
Hiya mark! If I can use it, it can’t be complicated! The old saying “I can’t read or write but I can drive a combine harvester” Should be changed to “I can’t read or write but I can drive a fendt” lol Ohhhhh I love Jaffa cakes! We’re do you stand on the argument, are they a biscuit or a cake? Lol
Never really thought about it to be honest Jonny, but i would have to go with being a cake more than a biscuit but then again i am not fussed as long as i can eat them lol.
I’m not sure, the technology exists for driverless tractors now. The tractor driving is the easy part, it’s knowing how to use it that is the problem. With conditions/soil types and all other manner of things dictating how you go about doing your job. There’s a lot of skill only learnt by experience and I’ll be interested to see how they could over come this with a computer. :)
No, we did have the AFS gps running through the PRO700 screen but it wasn’t quite what we wanted. It couldn’t send and receive data from the farm office. We’ve got the CNH Trimble XCM2050 screens in the case tractors on roaming SIM cards. All running on RTK :)
That’s how I learnt, I’ve only recently got GPS. Your right, your eyes never let you down...unless your on an older tractor without a cab and a fly decides yours eyes are a nice place to land lol
Sadly I lost my job during recession in the 80s in agriculture and am lovin u showin us all the technical stuff on ur tractors an machinery Thanks

I do like watching your video because you go in to the technical side of things on how its done brilliant
Great video Lad. You should call the local forestry crowd. You’ll make a nice few bob from the trees hanging on the rear view mirror in the car. 😁
HAHAHAHA!! What a splendid idea that is James!!
You just me chuckle out loud reading your comment!
Very good and interesting, it took my me out of my problems for a while, well done, looking for the next one, Steve
Thank you Steve. I hope you manage to overcome whatever problems life is throwing at you.
Take care of yourself my friend :)

I like fendt but you make the best videos with 1050 , I want more 👍
savage video mate, nice to see some diffrent kit in work all we have here is sidewinder, but we have never used a gps well only for fert spreading and spraying, great video lad keep up the savage work always a pleasure to watch
Thanks 619rdt!! :)
That would make a funny video if the tractor was to drive to your house for some hob nobs, that's your next vid right there, awesome video.
You’ve given me an idea there Wayne!! Lol
Got Trimble and greenstar on our farms. I do like the look of the fendt gps. Just got to hope we go fendt next year lol cheers for the vid jonny. Well explained

No worries mate...top vids as always 👍🏼👍🏼
Great video Jonny - You just make it look so easy!
Thanks kenny!
Off camera things can be a bit different sometimes lol!
haha I can well imagine :P

You should do bonus things at the end of all your videos that was funny or bloopers lol
Eh up chap. Good video !, the bit at the ends class 🤣🤣
Haha!! I don’t think many people have seen it! Good job really..... 😂😂😂
Great vid chap as usual keep her lit keep laughing jobs a good un!!
that video was simply lovely!
Way too technical for an old fogie like me! I think modern tractor driving should be left to you “younger” chaps! I’ll stick to my vintage tractors!!

Awesome video Jonny! Thanks for teaching us stuff. Looking forward to the next video? What happened on your arm with the bandage?
Thanks Herman!
I sliced it open on a very sharp piece of metal, it’s healing up nicely now though :)
Your videos are great even for other farmers like me 🙂 Do You have the Novatel or Trimble system on the Fendt?
Great video also noticed like keep car air freshers on hand like tractor 😊
Can never have to many dan!! Lol
Great video Jonny very interesting.
Thanks Adrian!
Nice video!!

Game Of Thrones Theme as a ringtone ...TOP MAN!
Ohhhhhhh kenny!!! I’m obsessed with game of thrones!!
Same here, thats how I knew the ring tone from just two notes on your video. It's one of the very few shows I am obsessed with :)
Nice one Kiddo!!!
Obstacles n all!!!!!!
Nice one jonny but I'm not sure about you biscuit choice though! Plus I'm still not sure how you keep your cab so clean! If you get bored you can come clean mine! 😂👍

I’m not 100% sure yet, I’ve still got a lot of thing to sort out at home but when that is done il be concentrating on the giveaway :)
Hi nice video good work
Not as terrifying complicated as i was led to believe the Fendt software thats pretty strait forward and not to different to other manufactures.

Never really thought about it to be honest Jonny, but i would have to go with being a cake more than a biscuit but then again i am not fussed as long as i can eat them lol.
Nice video, after all that, all I saw were how many air fresheners you had in your car. Have a great day Jonnie.
I don’t like to throw them away, i like to see how many I can get before I sell the cars lol
Good video keep up good mate 👍
Thanks Trevor :)
KEEP HER LIT LAD
I Drive a FENDT 1050 VARIO to!
That’s great! Your lucky like me too!
You have RTK or simple GPS?
Nice one Jonny will we need tractor jockeys in the future
I’m not sure, the technology exists for driverless tractors now. The tractor driving is the easy part, it’s knowing how to use it that is the problem. Jonny 1388 I think your correct jonny
Getting my Massey 1956 tonight 😀😀😀😀
I’m guessing you’ve got it by now Peter! Are you pleased with it?!
No sorry the starter motor when ton it 😔😭😭😭
Good stuff!!
Morning mate
is the gps system on the cvx the AFS one, that you can get from the factory?
No, we did have the AFS gps running through the PRO700 screen but it wasn’t quite what we wanted. It couldn’t send and receive data from the farm office.
We’ve got the CNH Trimble XCM2050 screens in the case tractors on roaming SIM cards. All running on RTK
:)
Were is the case i like case more. This are the Words of a John deere fan😊
Lol because, the other John Deere fans may get angry! Lol
There will be plenty more case to come! :)
It will drive itself home 🤣🤣🤣okay I now get it, on contour it records its movement and do exact but on AB it drops the points A and B
Good morning Jonny
Good morning! :) and a rather lovely morning it is too!
My gps is far easier than that to use 18” another good video mate
Haha!! What’s your GPS pete? A cold beer dangling on a rope in front of the tractor lol! That would be my kind of GPS!
Jonny 1388 😂😂😂😂😂~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi jonny what car were you driving at start
It’s a Ford Fiesta zetec S
Rather boring lol
"you're God damn right it is" if you know you know
I know!! :)
Jonny 1388 😉😉😉😉😉
still prefer the fence post / different colour stone / gap in hedge method much simpler and guaranteed to work
That’s how I learnt, I’ve only recently got GPS. Your right, your eyes never let you down...unless your on an older tractor without a cab and a fly decides yours eyes are a nice place to land lol
Do you prefer the fendt ore case ih controls?
If I had to pick one, I’d pick the fendt,
But case IH would be a very close 2nd!
Jonny 1388 I think the case ih system is easier to understand, but if you work a while with it the fendt is really nice too
What farm do you work at
Pollybell organic farm. We have a Facebook. There is a link in some of my older videos in the description :)
Are you from the north of England
South Yorkshire to be precise!
Jonny 1388 ok thanks for your answer
How much $ did the 1050 cost?
Lots and lots of £££’s lol
😆👍🏻🚜
i see you drive a ford, is it a fiesta zetec s by anychance
It is Beverly! Very well spotted! It’s a good little car!
That is a nice fendt but I will stick to the deutz fahr
I’ve never heard a bad word said about deutz Fahr tractors
Nice
your farming is organic, but on your way home you get your dose of chemicals with all these air fresheners
I want to do farm apprenticeship
Can I make a living in farming
Yes you can :)
First
