    Over here in The Netherlands, when you're from a village of small city, Big city folks call you a "Farmer" as an insult. And i always like to think to myself when someone says that, that they have no idea how precise and hightech farmers actually are. It also shows how ignorant and shallow those people are. And you prove the hightech precision again in video's such as this one.
    Love your content and explanation on the machinery.
    Best wishes from The Netherlands!

    Another great video Jonny. Ploughing is one of my favourite jobs (next to small square baling - go figure) and I cant even begin to add up the number of acres I've done over the years. While I do not consider myself any where near a master ploughman I do know enough to be able to say when someone else really knows their stuff. Now I wish I could say that you do but..... NAH! only kidding, your a top ploughman and you know your machine without a doubt. I used to think I did alright with my old 9 furrow Dowdeswell (could drop the rear two furrows off if it was really strong land) but watching how you tickle that beast and get it to do what you want - more than 'nuff respect my man.

    Great video Jonny, very very interesting to see how you plough with this large kit. I plough with a 6 furrow, mostly at 12 inches 16 inch furrows. Nice to see how much adjustment, you have whilst ploughing up to headlands etc .... Think you get neater ins and outs, with that monster plough than I can with my baby plough ( compared to yours )!! Keep up to great work Jonny. Would like to see, the bedformer working! if you ever get a chance please!

    • @Jonny1388
      @Jonny1388  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks my mate!!
      Your absolutely right, the ins and outs are so much easier on a wagon plough, being able to drop the “front” middle “and rear” in all separately is definitely and advantage! Instead of having to drop the whole plough in every time like on your 6furrow!

    Hi jonny ever thought about running subsoilers on the plough. Where I work we use then on our 8 furrow lemken, put them on ever other furrow.

    • @Jonny1388
      @Jonny1388  6 лет назад

      Hi Alexander!
      To be fair I have thought about it, I asked the question once why we don’t do it. This is what they said.
      It’s all to do with the amount of bog oak we have buried beneath the surface, we’l often hit whole trees that can be 40ft long. (We once hit one that was 96ft long)
      The farm would rather replace shear bolts, and bent subsoiler legs, than have to replace a bent plough.
      Because even with shearbolts and auto resets ploughs the wood can easily twist the whole frame of the plough.
      Hope that helps answer your question Alex.
      Though I do agree, it’s a great idea on the right land! :)

    • @alexandersmith8475
      @alexandersmith8475 6 лет назад

      @@Jonny1388 yeah I agree with bog Oak land they become a pain in arse replacing share bolts all the time. Works great on the sand land but would recommend having them on every furrow if the power to spare.

      Cotton and sunflowers, that’s something that isn’t very prevalent here in the UK.
      We do have the odd field of sunflowers here and there, and I gotta say they look fantastic when all the plants are flowering :)

    Good video jonny love a duck how long does it take you to set a plough up? I use to plough back in the 70s I wouldn’t have a clue how you set up a modern day plough like the one you are using . It’s not boring it’s fascinating video.

    Are the press wheels on the front and back just for packing purposes or do they provide some sort of cultivation as well. Again awesome video, very informative. I have never plowed on my family farm so it was interesting to see the adjustments. Is there a book that gives you an idea oh how much shim to put in based on depth? Obviously you want it close before going to the field.
