    Thank you so much didi
I'm not interested in research and all
I was going to choose it just because some youtubers gived me a fairytale dream just like how they gived many students dream of IITS and then build a business out of it
And now after exfoliating JEE and NEET with lakhs of not interested applicants with fairytale dreams(most of the applicants doesn't want to do engineering or mbbs they do these just because society gived them a fairytale dream that everything will be extremely good after that)
Now they are giving fairytale dreams about research and PHD (like you will be in foreign University , u will easily become scientist after joining iiser , niser , u will earn in lakhs and crores this and that) just for sake of views and selling there courses they are giving fairytale dreams to student who doesn't even aware about reality and they are not showing how much hard work and on what level you need to be to get in a foreign University for phd and for becoming an scientist.
I was also dreaming the same fairytale dream that i will join iiser then easily any foreign University will give me scholarship and high stiphen and then there will be no work load like MNCs and i will live a chill kinda life ,,
But u opened my eyes by showing reality 🙂
Thank u so so much didi ❤

Thank u so much again these 25 minutes gived me answer of is research is really my thing or not
In this video u talked about reality of research and researchers life and all
Please make a video about reality of iisers (like how many students out of total bsms student from iiser get PhD in foreign universities and how many get in India , how easy it was , how good you need to be in academics to get PhD in India and foreign and if a student try to get placement before PhD how easy it is and how many student get in it )
And please this one more question take in that video that
What if an average student like me who doesn't have any interest in any specific subject , who is mediocre and get mediocre marks like 70 - 80% in exams , by mistake joined iiser and managed his mediocrity there too and performs average marks or just managed to doesn't fail there then what are his chances of getting a good stiphend PHD abroad and in India
Because according to that fairytale dream given by a youtuber everything is possible or anyone can get PhD in foreign University
So please take my this question in your upcoming video 🙏🏻❤️

I am also an avg student. I would say I am decent in studies at iiser. I can manage to get good internship in India but then also at this stage , being honest I won't get phd abroad if I don't improve with other things. I can't get 9-10 SPI. That's not my cup of tea. Hence I am focusing on developing other skills .
See I will get phd only after applying right?
For USA , Indian students below 8 aren't even eligible to apply. So ya it's competitive but mediocre students. BUT IF U ARE CONFIDENT TO GET CPI ABOVE 8.5 OR 9 THEN YOU WILL GET PHD ABROAD AND THAT WILL BE FULLY FUNDED.

Extremely insightful! I feel like most of the students like us who are preparing for the various competitive examinations to get into the "esteemed " institutions have come across a point in their life where they have questioned their core interests and searched for the "why" because 16 or 17 years of age is not optimal for someone to decide what they want to do for their whole life( personal opinion), and its very natural to have a change of heart. The sad part is that most of us don't even get the time to self-introspect being all caught up in the race which we aren't even sure whether will even lead to the destination we want.

What a coincidence! From past 3 days I'm introspecting on what are my interests and what should be career. I'm a dropper JEE aspirant. But, tbh I never prepared for JEE seriously. The will was not that strong + I could not get rid of the distractions. In the drop year the same thing happened. I love Mathematics and I'm confident that I'm and I'll be good at it, but I think JEE is not for me. So, to conclude I think I'll do BSc in maths.
I've further plans too considering my interest and research. Not gonna reveal now.

Thank you didi for making this video
Currently i gave my JEE first attempt and now going to give second and then IAT, the point is i have rough idea of what i want to do but i dont know which career is there for that particular thing. For example. When I get a topic or strange name i go to google and read a through information whatever it has, i get amazed when i see things how work so i thought engineering is a better option, but its like when i study science books and read the names of the scientists and their work, it just amaze me of how they could even think of so detailed things and its like there are all German and American or Japanese scientists in the books but i want someone from our country who is that much capable like example Van't Hoff came and whole molecular forces and their interactions changed, therefore i thought i should go to research instead of engineering, but my father will be retired in 4-5 years, and research takes a lot of time, i want to pursue but more than that i worry about my parents like after retirement eventhough they might have savings and plans but they never tell me and since research takes so much time, it makes me worry about my parents
After seeing your video now i m self doubting should i got to research or engineering
I like other things too, like reading psychology, observations like observing humans how they behave or a thing how it changes over time, also i have a bad habit of playing video games but i think it just refreshes my mind but u told they give their entire life, that makes me think giving entire life then how can they enjoy life to its fullest(obviously they have their own opinions) but i like to read about scientists, their work also how machines works and inventing something or giving people something that will help them and solve many of their problems.
This was my view, i think it is too huge to read, but i hope didi u will read and pls guide me what should i take depending upon my family's condition
    Once again thank you

Yo 20 year old here, really appreciate you dropping this video. I am curious(which is somewhat curse to me) about research in AI/ML particularly (creating a virtual reality for AI/Ml models so that they can acquire data much faster learn faster) but still I'm hesitant. I got a problem of indecisiveness, I couldn't decide on a single career path after 12, so Ichoose BCA because I wanted a safe future, but because of all the AI models and stuff this sense of safety seems to be cracking little by little.
Besides all that what Hit me the most is when you said and I quote " How do you know you've got an interest in something when you haven't even studied that something", Thank you so much ik it's too common of a knowledge that you should know , but still it somehow helped me understand something about myself (I like psychology too BTW) and I'm grateful.

I feel that this applies to all the fields, like even mbbs, if you get selected for AIIMS, and your interest doesnt lie in medical then there is no point in working your way through yearss of studies when you did not even sign up for it (for those who were forced)
So the students who are yet unaware of their career path interests, do you still think getting into iiser will still help you unleash the complete interest in one subject, if they're willing to put in the effort

You are right but when it comes to other paths for eg medical . They can earn after getting their degree. They can earn for their daily basic needs but in case of research ....THEY CAN'T EVEN GET A DEGREE . Bcoz without interest you can't delve to such a great depth and discover something and if you don't do this then 5/6/7/8 years of phd is no longer a phd. you waste these many years , and you don't have degree also.

@@weird_anjalii This is the very reason I came to this video.......I have been curious ever since childhood (even got bullied by teachers for asking too many questions lol). I really want to pursue research but at the same time I want a secure future because after my bachelor's my parents won't be able to support me and I need a good package. I mean I even aspired to become a scientist at ISRO but when I saw their conditions and salary it was just pure heartbreak for me. And then these people complain about brain drain in the name of patriotism. I dreamed of going to iisc and saw the harsh cutoffs for generals as an advantage that I will be able to maintain a good cgpa when many of the others (category students) won't be able to cope up and then I can go abroad through a scholarship and get a Phd (I hope this is not delusional). And now here I am knowing I have the potential and knowledge to get AIR < 500 in Mains if I take a drop but at the same time I am getting good b tech options that provide me a secure future which I don't want to lose by taking a drop. To deal with this uncertainity I have been looking for information everywhere, reading articles, surfing through reddit, and finally I ended up here. Coming back to the point, Ma'am you look like a trustworthy source, could you please guide me by telling me the ground reality of research placements, like
how many students drop out ?
how many land in a Phd abroad and if it can sustain them with the money ?
what options do they have after giving in so much investment ?
I mean if I am going to devote an entire year towards a college like a madman shouldn't I atleast think for once that I will be able to get a roof above my head by going down the road of my passion.
Ma'am I would be very thankful if you could help me as I am on the verge of deciding between my passion and money.
P.s. ok that sounded a bit too serious I mean when you said that " How do you know you've got an interest in something when you haven't even studied that something". This hit me with the self realisation that my interests have been widely manipulated by society. And now I believe that as long as I spend some time with something and give all my devotion, I will automatically develop an interest for it.

Hi Anjali. This is Ankur, I am a 2021 BS-MS student from IISER Pune. I had joined iiserB and tbh my experience was BAD. So I’d just like to add to what you said, as most of the people watching this are in their 10+2. As you correctly said, to choose research as a your profession you should definitely be passionate exactly about that; otherwise it’ll come to you as a shock. With that being said, from my personal experience I’d say that passion is also not enough. I was very passionate about theoretical physics and had a very comfortable and mentally healthy environment at iiser pune. And luckily also had very good people around me (both friends and profs). Unfortunately I was so comfortable that my marks didnt meet up the any of those fancy dreams of doing PhD abroad. As a result I ‘adjusted’ myself to do a PhD in India and chose IISER B. It was only when I came to iiserb I realised the research level in india and in general scientific temperament needed to stay motivated and innovative in research is very terrible! And moreover people there (especially PhDs) had normalised such a sub-par standard of intellectual and scientific environment around that they had become unbothered about every problems they faced. To every question I asked everyone’s answer was “idhar aisa hi hota hai”. I was shook to the core and it was taking a toll on my mental health to see something I always dreamed of, finally dying in front of my eyes. So finally I dropped out of iiserB last year after spending 2 years in PhD course. I also did a couple of RA-ships after that in this one year. But I still haven’t found a desirable PhD. I have finally opened up to accept positions from other related areas of my research interest, if that’s not going to work I luckily do have a backup plan. The point is, the reality isnt just about iisers dont offer jobs, in fact to people like me who are really very interested in research, it is a known fact. But there’s another layer to it, which is even after you chose to give your 100% (or say realistically 80-90%) to your passion, this field is cruel and will not give you a fair chance for sure. Only a few benefit who obviously either know this from the beginning or accidentally never tasted the bad fruits of this tree. That’s all I wanted to share. By the way, you might as well remember the mess, DOSA vs student incident last year. A survey email was sent to almost all students on campus about the mess system. That was me, fighting against iiserB’s, if I dare say, brainless rules.

Hey, i am telling my story. From the very childhood i always wanted to create or discover something, and this thing started when i saw doraemon during childhood i got interested in Science and it was my favorite until i know that science is also broken in 3 parts after which i got to know i love physics. I have worked on many project (I'm 16 and half) in home and everytime it was correct what i found but it was already discovered. Ex: i was finding what's equilibrium and what makes a thing balance when i was 15. I still remember when i got to know that its well established it broked my heart but still i didnt give up and working upon finding more unseen things to work upon (finding means to observe and question which let me to find many things earlier as i told). I may certainly say that i am interested in research

I don't know if I want to be a doctor, if I want to be in research. I am scared. The only thing I've ever loved is English. I've read up loads of books, papers on literature, poetry and all of that. But people tell me that there's no scope in English except b ed and teaching, if I fail in getting a phd. The unemployment rates even after phd in English is striking.
The only thing I am sure of is I want to stay miles away from the corporate sector, even if I need to eat one meal a day, I do not want to spend all my life completing targets for big companies. I don't want lavish lifestyle or big packages.

I dont know what else i would be good at other than english, i am scared because i couldnt crack jee(never was that motivated), and maybe wont crack neet as well. Would i love to pursue research? i dont know. I love bio after english and maybe like chemistry a bit as well...would that be enough for research? 😭😭 i dont think so.

I have been preparing for NEET for past 2 years and on this 5th may was my exam. At first I was not at all inclined to go for Medical but now at last I am willing to go for that. I also like to know about the new developments in Science and reading how the new discoveries came up through years of research which come up in the articles or newspapers . My favorite parts in biology are molecular Genetics (about which I want to know more ) and I would like to go for bioinformatics as I like Programming and being an ICSE student we had programming of Java and C++. Its like I have a curiosity of knowing about things in deep...I am knowledge hungry and can't say it does not give me pleasure knowing about them. For example say the "string theory" which was discovered by Gabriel Veneziano and explained by Michio Kaku. I liked it so much that I searched about both the scientists and about this topic in detail of whatever information was available in the internet. Should I go for IISER or NEET? Which one would be the best for me? Please clarify..

The jobs at ISRO doesn't go through necessarily IISERs. I don't know a single student of my IISER who got into ISRO because ISRO takes its own exam and that exam is tough and only those who specifically prepare for exams like those, are able to crack it. IISERs don't teach students for competitive exams so students don't get much success in exams like these.
