I did the same thing with my Liberty!
Now I can drive over 50mph without wind noise or water leaking.
That skyslider roof was a terrible idea.
My sister had to get the slider removed and had a hardtop put on. She had the same problems as you. Good luck
Was the Hardtop custom or is there a manufactured "cap" or something?

My Liberty is so reliable, but the slider leaks. Replacement with an alternative is my next step.

@@odbodysdesire1525 have you ever check to see if the drain hose is there?on my it leak and suppostly the mechanic I took it to fixed it but In another heavy rain it leaked and when I check for myself,it didnt have the drain hose on front on both sides,I also kinda figure away to stop a wind noise,been my first week trying it and havent been having wind noise issues

Looks like you did a great job. I don't understand tho, are you replacing the whole roof, or permanently sealing it? I have 170k miles on my 08 and I haven't had a problem with the roof yet, but it sounds like I'm one of the lucky ones. Is this a service you offer? This is def a job I would take on myself.

Ra ra i also live in La.. (Baton Rouge). Se probls. Now i have huge amounts of water leaking in. I have a 2009 jeep Liberty 4x4. I bought it in 2012 and it has been perfect no plroblems until now. It wont close all the way and now its making no noise or nothing when i press the bottons. The motor went out in 2013 and i got it replaved it was $4,800 for whatever they done. I had to pay $500 of that thanks to a warrenty. But now i have no warrenty and i habe probs. Im lost on what to do.

Wow.... forgot I posted this question. Well, non-skyslider jeep, I
purchased 5 months ago is no more. Older lady came and "took me out".
Tagged me on the back door and into and almost through the guard rail.
Tough ..tough truck. Unfortunately, they totaled it. Now, fate is
tempting me again. There is another 08, but it has that sky slider roof.
Low price, at the same time I am naturally tempted by the cool feature
and terrified at the same time.I was thinking, wouldn't a universal rag-top work as a replacement to the factory skyslider? I found this company and wonder if this would be a more viable otion.
My jeep cred' only lasted 5 months, so I admit that I am asking as a
pure novice, at the same time wouldn't this be a clear alternative to
fixing the factory roof? The hole in the roof is there and the sky
slider headliner is already done. Am I missing something? Thanks Karen

What just happened to mine the rear left cable broke causing the timing sink.
Dealer told me Chrysler don't make parts for it anymore. Now what to do.
