Just got mine and after a brain fart on my own part (not knowing what needed to be installed where) I like it.. I do wish it focused a bit closer.. Have to have the scope farther away from the item to get good focus under magnification. But the image for anything I'm gonna do, it's awesome.. Once you get it set up and know where stuff needs to be for the mag and focus you need, think you'll love it.
You’re going to really enjoy using it. I’ve been using a Leica A60 for several years now at my engraving bench and you are correct in how invaluable they are. I recommend GRS if you are looking for engraving classes, right here in KS and they are a great group to work with. Enjoy!
Awesome! I will look in to that for sure. I definitely want to learn engraving and doing some wire inlay. I can’t wait to get the training and the gear. Thanks for the tip James!
One suggestion: fix the microscope to the table itself, not to something separate from it. That is because even minute/micro movements of the table in relation to the microscope will quickly become painfully noticable. When the microscope is fixed to the table these movements will not be felt.
Thanks Willard. I don’t like to be led wrong and I don’t believe in it so I try to convey the best I can. If I learn something different about the product down the road, I’ll share it as well.
I'm very near sighted . . . what I see up close thankfully is very clear, 9" out is about the extent of my 20/10 vision, not sire what I'd do without glasses! This looks like a great tool for getting into inlays and engraving! I will have one of these in the future! Thanks for a great review!
Being a pretty new knifemaker, I don't really have a need for a microscope right now, however, if/when I am a little more advanced in the craft, this will be a big consideration, specifically this microscope. Thanks Mr. Severio!
I love the upgraded mic and camera. Before your videos only played audio in left ear for head phone user. I have a question about soldering guards /bolsters. I soldered a bolster for a chef knife and when i tried wiping the excess off it spread all over, i was able to remove it with a buffing belt but i dont want todo that every time. I believe i used too much solder, what do you think?
Thanks man. Yeah I’m still trying to get me equipment back up to speed. Several things have broken that I couldn’t afford to replace but slowly getting there. It may have been too much solder and or too much flux where it doesn’t need to be. That solder will flow wherever the flux is. It makes it hard to cleanup. Brush it off immediately after the solder runs into the guard and cleanup with a piece of brass. I hardly ever do any soldering anymore but that’s how I used to control it.
A good housekeeping practice when it comes to microscopes of any sort is to cover them up when you're not using them. Keep the shop dust off them as much as possible. Kind of an obvious mention when it comes to any optical thing but the less you have to clean it in particular, the better.
Great video Tony, much appreciated. I'm in the process of installing my microscope and reviewing as many different RUclips videos regarding this scope as a I can. What I do notice in your video, and a few others, is that you appear to be using different 'screw/hand knobs' that mount the scope than what my scope came with. It looks like you're using 2 of these that are all metal. I have a single screw/hand knob that looks, and is threaded, exactly like what is on the head rest assembly. Did you use different screw knobs you had on hand, or is this what came with your scope? I'd like to mimic what you're doing with the metal screw/hand knobs. Again, thanks for the video.
Awesome, that’s good to hear. I’m definitely impressed with it and I’m looking forward to actually using it in some upcoming projects. I agree that it is a good bang for the buck. There’s no way I could afford the expensive ones.
If anyone uses one of these, please comment below on your thoughts. I am pretty impressed with it.

Thanks! Yeah I’m still collecting what I need. I used it a few days ago on a project and it worked great.

I've been using one for about 25 years and it is indispensable ! You are going to like it!
Awesome, that’s great to hear. I can’t wait to put it to use.
awesome review Tony im planning on getting 1 soon thanks Mark
Great!

When I get a proper table setup I plan to do just that. Thanks for the input! 🙂
Love listening to your reviews. Your honest, and don't mind talking about the cons, even if it's sponsored.

My eyes are headed in the wrong direction regardless of the distance. 😂. Yes I think it’s a great option. At least for me it is. Thanks!

Yes indeed. It’s something that’s always been out of my reach but this quality for the price changes things for sure.
As always, thanks for the video! Have a good weekend!
You’re welcome and thanks for watching. Have a great one too!
Just got mine today ! Thank you !
Awesome! I have using mine quite a bit on guard fits. Love it.
As a person with wide set eyes, my only question is, how wide do the eyepieces go? Thanks.
They go way past mine. So I think you would be covered. 🙂

Yes indeed, I agree. I have to work hard just to keep my cameras clean and dust free. I will definitely keep it covered tight. Thanks!

Thanks Dwight. That’s the screws that came with it. I’m still collecting gear to get started…another rabbit hole. 😂
I've been impressed with mine also. There are better microscopes available, but that one is definitely the best bang for your buck.

awesome job!
Thanks!

Yes I have been impressed with a few items for sure.
