SitaRam .... Namaskaram, respected Sri Ranganji. You have brought out beautifully the basis on which Buddha is taken as an avatharam in spite of Buddha not accepting Veda as a Pramaanam and not accepting the concept of Iswara. Here you have paid a great tribute to Hinduism's large heart in accepting Buddha's dharma, ethics, being considerate to fellow beings and revering Buddha as an avatharam, while at the same rejecting the principles of Buddhism. Here I have to express a concern I have. I wonder whether this is also to be seen as a weakness of Hinduism. Can it not be seen as a lack of a clear stand by Sanatana Dharma? Already I see many Hindus being attracted to Buddhism as being less ritualistic, more refined and more humane, and they can draw license from the fact that Buddha is accepted by Hinduism as an avatharam. I see the danger that this trend can weaken Hinduism over a period of time. Shouldn't Hinduism give a clear cut message that the principles of Buddhism (except its humane attitude) run counter to the fundamental codes of Hinduism and hence not acceptable?
