      UVI Falcon 3. Actually - all UVI products are my favs. And all U-He products too. The rest of them, to be quite frank... are... well - meh. Not even close to UVI and U-He. You asked :) Ups, I almost forgot = Phase Plant, it belongs there, along with UVI & U-He.

    Also, the sample player stretch algorithm is actually very solid, you can slow down samples very slow without any audible artifacts with warpmode FLEX, even if they are 44.1 khz. Same sample in UVI Falcon 3 have lots of audible artifacts at same speed.. :) So yes, very nice synth with nice engines.

    Great demo of a great product. I like how Minimal Audio used a lot of the the good (and familiar) concepts from some of the most popular existing synths, but *improved* upon them. That is the right way to do it.

    I absolutely love this synth. I've already smashed out some decent patches. I have most of the other major wavetable synths like Serum, Pigments and Massive X. They're all good in their own way, but Current sounds really thick and warm, has all their excellent effects(Rift's distortion and filters, and Fuse in particular) and comes with some great sample content. It could use a few more bread and butter patches though and I find it hard to get the reverb to do what I want.

      This synth goes really deep I find. Yeah I agree with the bread and butter patches. Maybe they'll add some in the future.

    So you pick yearly payment, pay 120$ and receive 180$ in credits. You add another 19$ and get the perpetual for 139$?

    • @whitenoisestudio
      @whitenoisestudio  10 месяцев назад +1

      Exactly.

      @@whitenoisestudio So the 199$ offer does only exist to punish those people that don't own a credit card?

    • @whitenoisestudio

      And their families and pets ;-) My guess is that Minimal Audio is hoping people will continue paying that monthly / yearly amount.

      @@whitenoisestudio Yeah, such inconsistencies in the pricing model don't strengthen my trust in this company. As a beginner I have to decide between Serum, Pigments and Current I think. I was really considering to put my bet upon the most progressive choice. However, such a product needs a community setting trust into it. Serum is widely used and Arturia has gained a solid reputation. The pricing policy of Serum is stable, but very US focused. I can't buy a license key from a European distributer.

      I finally decided for Diva, Vital and Pigments to cover past, presence and future of synths. No continuous payments and European distribution channels are available.

    To be honest, I've bought a good 20+ softsynths which I've used; the entire line of FL synths; Sytrus, Harmor, etc. Xfer's Serum, Synthmaster One and 2, Wiggle.
    **IF I was buying my first soft synth, without a doubt, I'd grab Minimal Audio's Current without question.**
    However, after years of using all the ones I've previously bought, Minimal Audio's Current is just another soft synth to me.
    In all honesty the sound design demonstrated here doesn't sound like anything new to me; however, as always it is how you use the synth.
    In short, I'll check out Current when it's on sale.

      Its oscillators are self oscillating. So you can dual FM.
      That’s about its only unique point.
      Its effects are really nice!
      & I like its work flow..
      but other than that it’s just another one.
      I have been loving the none wavetable synths as they have more character & & distinct sound.

    Not bad! It won't enhance my music creation skills for sure :) At the moment, I prefer using Ableton's synths, Pigments 4, and Serum. I'm thinking of getting Falcon 3.

    Phaseplant is the winner

    • @fallenleaf24
      @fallenleaf24 2 месяца назад

      My only issue with phaseplant & I have brought out kiloheartz.
      It’s not a synth I can grab & use.
      I have to first build the synth I’m going to use so I find that I have synth templates preset to use..
      There is something about having a pre-set synth with things in place you can just use & it’s all instant.
      Phaseplant takes effort & I don’t always have that mid track so for the £600 I spent it will take me years to get that much use out of it
