The foil one can never get as close to as it did in the video. Theres this toy thing I grew up with called a fusuji ball(I think that's how its spelled) where it looks like a floating metal ball. Its used to do some.'magic' tricks. The ball in the video as the final product is not the same thing as the piece of foil they were initially working on.
There used to be a trend in youtube where people sand balls made of foil and try making it shiny and smooth, and some people actually succeeds, although they did it in a long period of time and I don't think they use oil at all lol
