Since I’ve owned both the XT4 and the XT5, I think I can give a pretty good overall opinion of which to own. The XT4 was terrible at auto focus for photography nd I don’t know about videos since I don’t do any. But I hated the flippy screen. I wasn’t doing fixed photography, so most of mine was street and you need competent auto focus to capture your subjects! The XT5 has a lot more going for it if you’re a photographer, especially a street photographer. Better auto focus, ibis, better back screen. About the same as far as hand gripping. I used an LM thumb grip on both cameras. The biggest problem I had with the XT4, was I had to take it back for repairs twice. One because the flippy screen died, which I hardly ever used. And the shutter button froze. I quickly sold it once it was repaired again Been shooting with the XT5 for a couple of years now, and I love it! And yes, the 40 megapixels makes a big difference when doing street photography, as I can crop in and get a decent shot, better than I could on 26 megapixels. The biggest problem I feel that Fuji has is quality control, and auto focus.

I’ve owned the X-T4 since 2020 and it has been an absolute travel photography monster for me. This, paired with an X-100V was all I ever asked for in a travel camera setup…but then I got greedy. I wanted better autofocus and perhaps more resolution. So I bought the X-T5 and it hasn’t been a great experience over the past two years. They made too many compromises in image quality/sensor readout speeds that have impacted everyday shooting for me and made the video quality substantially worse than the X-T4. Now I’m considering going back to the X-T4 after using mine again. I had to send the X-T5 into Fujifilm to fix the top dials that broke on both sides of the camera just because they WORE OUT. They stopped being clicky and then the drive mode selection got stuck in place…the build quality of the X-T5 has me questioning the future with it…never seen a camera just break like that in over 20 years of photography.

In my opinion, the best feature of the articulated display on the XT-4 is that it can be closed, which I do in 90% of cases.
