  • We continue work on our background structures. We work on three HO scale background structures and finish our N scale structure from the last video. Then we place some unfinished brick structures on the layout to see what they will look like in the overall scene. Hope you enjoy the video and happy modeling everyone!!!

Dear Jason, amazing sequence of videos. Love the way you give these structures a tiny bit of depth. Which in turn enhances the illusion of field of depth. Excellent idea to treat the corner building in the very same way. The ‘invisible’ wall parts will accentuate the lines beyond the structural corner of the layout room. Also love your trick with the French Blue fade, truly makes ‘m fade-pop the effect of the horizon. Awesome is the operative word. Cheerio

Jason, wow, another great lesson on giving depth and height.
Thank you for sharing your tips and techniques.
Yes, you have a lot to do, but it is coming together, and your vision is fantastic.
    Cheers, and sty safe, Michael

Combining 3D kit with printed copies is very interesting.

Hey Jason. Big fan. Suggestion re: the building at the corner: How about putting a radio station on the top floors, and top the building with a big honking radio antenna to cover the room's corner? I can picture a deco sign with the station's call letters - WJJT.

The perspective on the Butterfinger building was very effective! As was the corner building. Excellent work! Also loved seeing the coal train roll through!

Amazing! I think a hillside with some trees might be a good solution in place of the curved trestle. My 2 cents. Love the layout.

I find you very inspiring! You are a true artist, except your paintings are in 3d. I don't have a train set nor do I ever plan on getting one, but I'm still excited every time you bring out another video and am devouring them! Watching how you deal with different challenges and develop painting techniques seem to spill over into the areas of art I am pursuing. It's your passion I keep feeding on...!

I recently visited Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg Germany. Really impressive layouts. Most of the fun was discovering all of the little jokes and Easter eggs they added to the scenery and buildings. Is that something you would be considering doing as well?

Fantastic, I've forgotten what the name of this city/town is called it needs a sign. I love the way the buildings are really stacking up and with the elevation changes reminds me of Newcastle upon Tyne in the northeast of England UK . Great video. 👍❤️

Maybe you should consider mountains in the background to give more depth. Not just a sky and clouds.

Rather than cutting acetate for each individual window could you glue in the windows and glue in a sheet of acetate from behind over all the widows are once.

It is really nice what you doing, but I think you should spend much more time on creating the terrain instead of more and more buildings ans struktures . There is too much of the with, pink and blue foam on your layout. And by the way, you have to remove all of them. When you are ready with the terrain, they all can get their final place on the Layout. With more and more structures, it will become more difficult to create the terrain.

YES.... Looks Awesome.... I have another take on layout space .... Here there are No Back ground buildings in this city module .ruclips.net/video/EOhiLKO5Uyc/видео.html Or connected ones ....walls are left as walls. and no forced perspective .... this allows all angles to be viewed leaving no details hidden making the layout the focal point from anywhere in its footprint.
