As a guitarist who lives off of playing a guitar in stores, I can agree that I have heard this song more than 100 times.
me too
a day or did you forget some zeros?
If it weren't for those songs, the whole guitar industry would fall lol. That's where the cake is. Can't life off of Death Metal or Prog lol. Teenagers ask their parents "PLEASE, BUY ME A GUITAR", just because they are hyped to play a few popular songs to impress friends and girls. A couple of years later, they will never touch their guitars again lol. I know TONS of such cases. Half of my male friends in highschool had electric and/or acoustic guitars. I'm the only one who became a musician, and they lost interest soon after turning 19 years old.
Just 100!?
Which one?
"Do you take requests?"
"Yeah"
"Please stop"
😂😂😂
What key is that?
that shits great. and what key is that is fucking perfect
That’s when you start playing ‘Can’t Stop’ by RHCP, another unknown riff that will summon all the guitar center employees to watch in sheer awe and wonder
"Can you play Over The Hills And Far Away?"
"Yes"
"Then f***ing do it?"😂
Can you play 'far far away?'
Once at Guitar Center, I started playing Heart and Soul in the keyboard section when an employee pulled me to the back room and broke all my fingers
You must be typing with your thumbs on your phone.
Really?
Toes
You re lucky. I was at Bass For Everyone i took a 6 string bass and started playing Zombie.
Now i m the new Stephen Hawkin
This one time I was in the keyboard section and I started playing Lean On Me and I was exiled
Think I recognize one of those guitar stores! Thanks for carrying the torch 🤘🏻
Hey dude!
carrying the torch? she has nearly double your followers, which tbf is probably why you're in the comments :D
Hi@@DaveDexterMusic, I meant she literally has a green screen background of my old music studio in this video, so I was thankful for her helping it live on in her awesome content. Hope you have a nice day bro✌🏻
what exactly does that mean? Can you explain to me why a 12 year old who cant really play a guitar has 3 million subs and why this comment section is filled with overly patronizing comments, is there a youtube factory somewhere that manufactures these types of children? is this supposed to be hilarious? 114 k views in 10 days seems a bit much, no no nothing out of the ordinary here, totally normal ,,, move along. @@DaveDexterMusic
Crazy to see MusicisWin here.
Love the fact she went with Stairway over Wonderwall.
Also Smoke on the Water was the first riff my dad taught me.
Funny thing is almost everybody plays Smoke on the Water wrong
Stairway is significantly longer.
Probably because people playing stairway at music sores has been a running joke since Wayne's World
@@stellarjuju8788 The "No Stairway" rule long predates Wayne's World. That movie just used what was already a thing.
@@stellarjuju8788 the joke goes beyond waynes world. It was a joke back to the early 80s
Good to know it’s now acceptable to play Wonderwall
Lol I kept waiting for it to come but it never did
@@ninjagonishJust like people that play wonderwall
JK JK
I think wonderwall is not for the guitar stores, but more the not-so-random song at parties and campfires.
Even Riptide on the ukulele
I learned to play Stairway To Heaven on the ukulele.
Best thing I ever did. Now every employee in every guitar shop near my house knows my name & some shops even have a picture of me behind the counter.
But on the down side, I'm no longer allowed in the shops...
Even if these are overplayed, Elise gives them a whole new perspective❤
100%🎉
Thank God for Parody to blast away the copyright nightmare when playing even the smallest riff
The smoke on the water is so accurate even for my dad who’s newer to guitar 🤣
As Wayne from Wayne's World would say to the No Stairway to Heaven sign, "No Stairway. Denied!"
my dad played guitar all his life and was an excellent picker; Jazzy arrangements of standards from his era (he was born in 1922) one day when he was in his mid 80s I took him to a local music shop ‘cause I needed strings & it was my day to watch him…like every guitarist on the planet, all the groovy guitars at the shop caught his eye so I asked him if he wanted to try any out…he selected a nice ES 335, I plugged him into the Fender amp next to him, he sat down on one of the stools and started playing…compared to the usual pimply teen abusing some neon green Ibanez, he played a beautiful chord and melody version of ‘Stardust’; I’m sure many of the customers & employees alike never heard someone play like that in such an informal intimate setting; dad’s head was down & he was in the zone and did not notice the crowd gathering around him; after his final major 7th glissando, the entire store (including me) broke into enthusiastic applause; he was humble and appreciative but said he didn’t like the Gibson as much as his ‘65 Epi Casino…dad played pretty damn good until he passed at 95 (I own the Epi now)
That's an epic story
The ultimate way to troll guitar store employees is to start playing Pretender by Foo Fighters since the first five notes are identical to stairway to heaven
This is awesome. I only started learning guitar 7 weeks ago and I'm documenting my entire learning journey on here so this was super motivational!
awww look at how kind that random stranger from the cruise is, hes even helping you out in helping everyone else out
Weird that he would just show up at that particular location. There are lots of Guitar Centers. I think he might be stalking her.
As someone who just started learning electric guitar last week, I feel personally attacked cause these are the only songs I can play lol
Take guidance that these are a waste of your effort, skip & go forth (but not to Sunshine of Your Love). 😉
Wow! Thanks Elise❤ This is what i needed
Your videos are so much fun!!! Glad I discovered you. Love your sense of humour. I can't be the only one that would like to hear a full acoustic cover of "I Miss You" :)
I Loved this! Your delivery is GREAT!
Thank you for your amazing tutorials
Yo, yer boy got some licks!
Next time I'm in the guitar store I will be impressing everyone once I study this video to learn all these sick riffs! Thanks Elise! ❤
@MrEliseEcklund scammers are the worst human beings. Not only lazy and lacking character but also not very intelligent.
0:43 Those random notes sounded pretty much like the One solo from Metallica
Thank God someone else noticed
I'm pretty sure it was imitating the intro to Thunderstruck.
@@drew3030No it was the one solo. Thunderstruck dosen't have tapping
Omg that made my morning! Thank you!
You’re energy is so cool!
Your enthusiasm and energy is contagious. I just went to bed and slept for three days as a result.
Very cool vid! I got a good chuckle. So true! Rock on!
A chap who worked in a keyboard store told me that their equivalent of StH was the opening to Bach’s Toccata and Fugue…
well, that piece is awesome :D
-Do you take requests?
-Yeah..?
-Please stop
This cured my eternal sickness, many thanks.
Aww
This was sooo Awesome Thank You
The "request-please stop" line was the first time in 3years I laughed about one of your videos. Well done Eden!
Good job on the video. Somehow this was the first of yours that I have ever ran across. Funny stuff that has a lot of truth to it. Thanks
Lol! This is hilarious, and her deadpan delivery is just perfect! Super funny, Elise 👍🤣😂😉✌️😎
OMG, I just discovered this. Elise, you are a gem. This is SO funny. Thank you.
The most accurate videos doesn’t exi-
Your channel always makes me smile really makes me happy🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 are used to play the guitar in the 70s, but never very good. We just streamed chords and sang, but we did have a gosh darn good time!
Now I know how to impress the employees! Thanks so much 😁
So happy u posted :)
Great delivery E!
Thanks for the advice! The employees even brought the police to listen to me playing, and the cops loved it so much that they took me with them!
"SLOWLY PUT THE GUITAR DOWN!", "Do you have any objects on you that could hurt us, like a knife or guitar pick?"
I love it! Great comment!
Brilliant! Thanks.
This is useful. Thank you.
Love it! I was waiting for Stairway.... lol Thanks for posting!
Perfect, thank you. As a guitarist, drummer, bassist, keyboardist, and tuba player in approximately 512.947 bands over the past 924 years you nailed it. Please follow up with cowbell and theremin vids. Love your vocals.
I'm not sure of all the other songs, I played Stairway in 1994 and have been blacklisted from every guitar store since.
Thank you for the advice
I thought I was getting too old for this list until you finally played the last one.
Enter Sandman is the new Stairway to Heaven. I was playing that in guitar stores over thirty years ago, and I still hear it being played.
pretty sure ive heard it every single time ive ever been in a Guitar Center
I can't. This right here. I can not keep a straight face whenever I go into a guitar store because 9 times out of 10 these songs will be played.
This reminds me of the scene in the music store in Wayne's World with the "No Stairway to Heaven" sign. 😅
Do you mean the scene in the theatrical run where Wayne plays the first four notes of Stairway but because somebody got their panties in a twist, was changed to four random notes for the home video release? THAT scene?!?!?
Beautiful. Just beautiful
I have that thing where as soon as I try play guitar in a shop it's like day 1 of learning guitar.
Why did I think she was gonna smash that guitar over his head? 😅 Also as a band musician I can confirm that these songs are really hard to play even though I don't play guitar in any of them
@@MrEliseEcklund Bot
@@maxezzy1282 Not bot...but woodchuck bot.
I'm an accomplished piano player, but also dabble a bit with the guitar. Believe me those songs are easy to play on the guitar. Maybe the real fast random notes might be more challenging then smoke on the water.
Because you were supposed to.
Actually, none of them are even close to hard. That's why 14-year-olds who've been playing for six months always play them in guitar stores. ;-)
I'll go try it out asap
You definitely have a great career in comedy to look forward to! Just watching some of your vids. You're great!
It happened to me in about 1978. I did get my Peavey for my Ibanez Gibson Les Paul copy in about 1977. Made the five point star guitar in 1978. Rock on!
I learned how to play 7 Nation Army a few months ago. Plus, Elise, your videos are great.
Love it! Your deadpan expression throughout is hilarious. Love the brief glimpse of raising that guitar at the end in order to smack the STH player on the head. He deserves it for the bizarre fingering he used to play it lol
she seems so natural at deadpan, it's scary😢
I don't know who you are. I don't know why RUclips popped this clip up in my feed. But this is hysterical. Your delivery is amazing. Thanks for brightening up my day.
You can also play "pipeline". Bonus points if you plug it into a giant Fender Twin reverb amp cranked really really loud
hey thanks man. @MrEliseEcklund
What if you can play all 3 parts, and the keyboard line on one guitar?
Never saw your channel before, but that was pretty funny. Love the dry delivery. Pretty good on I Miss You, actually ;-)
Good to know I can still play the Nothing Else Matters opening riff on and endless loop.
I love how the stairway to heaven clip cuts right when she is raising the guitar to bring it down on his head.
Take it to the next level, make a medley of all those songs. Then, play through it really fast as many times as you can before they escort you from the store.
1st reply of the 1st comment
I believe you get arrested for playing that medley.
@clqudy4750 If you play it backwards, it summons demons! 🤨
I enjoy playing Heitor Villa Lobos, prelude #1. Gets all the tonality range of a guitar displayed nicely.
Then of course, straight into stairway... ;)
Great picks
"Do you take requests?" I knew what was coming but still laughed
Love the deadpan delivery
"Smoke on the Water" is fun to play on a ukulele because nobody expects it.
That deadpan look is killing me!!😂😂😂 Great vid and thanks for the laugh!!
I tried learning guitar a few years ago. Smoke on the Water was lesson 2.
Seven Nation Army was #3.
She is hysterical. So talented!!!!
I actually learned how to play 7 nations Army and Smoke on the water on both guitar and electric guitar!❤
P.S. Guitar and Ukelele tie as my second favourite instrument!
GREAT!
RUclips recommended this to me and now I will subscribe.
I don’t play guitar, but I asked someone in the guitar store if they could play Stairway to Heaven, They threw me out for even requesting it.
Thanks I needed a good laugh today ❤
I laughed pretty hard on this one. You have that Tuesday Adams look down to a science. Funny clip. Thanks
Love you!
i WISH they had that kind of ukulele selection
I am so glad I subscribed. Your humor matches mine.
I can honestly say that I have never played anyone of these songs at a guitar store.
Last time I visited a store I did play "Seasons In The Abyss" by Slayer.
the last one was gold.
that guitar center in the background is the one near where i live
I would love to shop for a new electric guitar, but theres always someone playing one of these or just making loud noises with one, so I guess I'll stay with my acoustic
Great vid awesome
Thank you for adding Stairway to the list, us old people appreciate it!
I once read an article where fans could ask Jimmy Page questions. One asked Page if he had ever played "Stairway to Heaven" in a music store. Page answered "No" with a chuckle.
Guitar stores come to Jimmy, not the other way around.
I'm definitely learning all of these to wind up guitar shop snobs. I'm rotten as well, so that should add to the enjoyment I'll get.
I love elises guuitar skills😍
How could you forget Nothing else matters? The most difficultest song of them all!
Do you have any similar hints and tips for a kazoo player please?
Probably the first few measures of Barracuda, too.
I mean it did kinda sound like the first few measures of Barracuda when I didn't touch any of the frets and just twaddled the big fat string and its two closest neighbors a bit.
as a fan this needs a oscar and this is real:)
Thank you.
I go to Guitar Center and play the drums ..... even tho I don't play the drums .... they love that
It's been a minute (or more - ok, years) since I worked in a music store, but the range of songs played gravitates (not evolves) over time. Your video catches the timeless ire of every music store worker (owner or employee) I actually had to wash blood off the strings one time.
Love your voice. It's so not monotone.
Love the deadpan delivery. Please tell me you do comedy clubs.
Haven't been to any guitar stores but I imagine tuning to drop D and playing Everlong on acoustic would fall under this category haha
Yes
