- One of my subscribers (Darren. Thanks Darren!) pointed out to me a few days ago that there is no tutorial on RUclips for this classic Gilmour solo. Now of course there are a ton of tutorials for the studio version, but none for the live Pulse version. That's exactly the stuff I'm looking for when it comes to doing tutorials. I also seem to have a penchant for the longer ones. The 3, 4 or 5 minute solos, and here we go with another one.
This is the performance video. there's one wonky note in there, haha. got a bit aggressive with one of the bends. oh well, it's a damned long solo, hard to get through it without a mistake or two.
Within a few days I'll sit down and put together a tutorial. Should be up within a week.

David was always at his best when he got to go off. And no matter what there was NEVER a note that was out of place or wasted.

Awesome! Saw one of your videos in my recommedations this past week. Least to say I binged your guitar solos journey and what I can say is that you're a phenomenal player and you got a new subscriber. Since you wanna do solo lessons that you don't find on youtube, is there a possibility you can break down the Stairway to Heaven solo from The Song Remains The Same concert? In my opinion that's the best version Jimmy ever played. Anyways, I always wanted to learn this version of the Comfortably Numb solo so, I can't wait for the upcoming tutorial! Keep up the good work!
I'm with Oprea on this one. Would love to see the STH live breakdown. Maybe you can do a series on Live solos. They hold more interest to me as there is no studio magic taking place.

It's a lot to remember at over 4 minutes. Piece by piece and you'll get there. Also getting through it without a hiccup isn't easy either.

How do you keep so much music in your head at one time? How many of the Top 100 solos do you think you've retained?
Not many, but they come back really quick if I need to relearn it. I'm just not playing them regularly so I forget lots of them.

Thank you! It's a custom signature high end Squier from Thailand. Called an Olarn. Was only released in Thailand.

Yes it is! Though it is a rather high end Squire. Signature model from Thailand. About $700 new. Great guitar.

That's is an Ibanez rgxxv. The 25th anniversary model released in 2012. Sweet looking guitar.

Very good! But its a bit too fast and also your vibrato is kind of... robotic. Thing is your fingers should be more straight so that its more fluent. I appreciate your cover, but just it does not do too much to my heart as some other covers..
