Can only second the recommendation for cthulhu, just had what was probably one of the most tense games ever, we thought we were gonna die any second before even completing turn one, I even debated whether we should just reset the scenario and try again, but through some miracle we managed to prevail, I was the last one standing, the other two players having sacrificed themselves for damage on the great old one. I had been close to dying from insanity the whole game and somehow managed to survive with one pip left. What an amazing feeling! So epic!
Thanks for recommending Deliverance, we love it and I even bought a copy for my son's collection. I did get and enjoy Zombicide Black Plague as another one of your recommendation. Now Project Elite has my interest. Thanks for the comparisons.
TMB and CDMD are soooo fun! TMB definitely takes dedication to keep playing and all the rules in your head but it's so fun. Thanks for this great list. I will try some of these other games soon too.
I'm not sure this video convinced me to get any of these games that I don't already own, but that bit in the beginning about how you have all of the Zombicide games pretty much convinced me to pre-order The Dead Keep. So... thanks for being an enabler. 👌
Kingdom Death Monster is probably my favourite game after Zombicide. Absolutely love it and the amount of miniatures you get is phenomenal in the way you can customise the figures.
Thanks again, Alex. The game I decided to try is Shadows of Brimstone Forbidden Fortress. I tried Green Horde and sold it. Do own TMB Undertow which I think is great. If you don't mind building the mini's, which I actually enjoy, what is your opinion on Shadows of Brimstone?
Cool video. I've never played any of the games you've recommended but I've heard good things. Another solid choice that's similar to Zombicide that I quite like is Arcadia Quest. Lots of expansions and options too. :)
I own Massive Darkness 2 and I adore it so much, I fully backed DCeased and cant wait to get it. Last Week I played a game called Lobotomy 2 and it was amazing, I think it deserves to be in this lovely list. Thank You for this video as I was searching for more one shot scenario games like Zombicide, I thought of V-sabotage but I felt that it’s missing something. One more recommendation for a co op game that has only one mission (leave the cave alive) Sub Terra 1 is one of my favorite co op games and I can’t recommend it enough.
Great list! Huge fan of Cthulhu Death May Die (only got into it because of your rave reviews and now one of my all-time favorites) and Massive Darkness. Still cranking away at my alternate Pandemic games (Iberia, Fall of Rome, Star Wars). Keep it coming with this type of list please, I really enjoy it.
Oh, I was looking for such a list! Thank you Alex! Love love ZC SE, although after 70 plays in the last 6 months I got a bit bored. What I love: scenarios, flexible game system, minis (bot not huge ones), simple and easy to teach/learn rules, variaty of characters, good quality, plays within 2 hours. What I dislike: to make it harder the only options are to increase the luck and reduce your options like smaller maps, less survivors, more spawning locations, etc. I saw some videos about these games - not all, but some - and not sure about the replayability of DRG. CDMD... huge plastic statues, don't like. MD2 is a campaign game. Pandemic... I love that, have already several iterations. So, now I am really curious about Resident Evil: Into the Darkness. Hope it is a deeper, more tactical game.
Absolutely fantastic list. CDMD is above all my favorite of this list. Yes, I love Zombicide (Black Plague - with all the expansions) and play it often. Project Elite is another great one, especially for the tension aspect. I'll have to look into Deep Rock. Keep up the great work.
I watched multiple play throughs and read the rules for deep rock galactic, can’t wait to hear your opinion on it after playing it, I am going to save some money to get the deluxe version and some expansions.
We do enjoy Zombicide Black Plague and Undead and Alive. For something different, yet similar, we play Pandemic Iberia, Thunderbirds (same designer as Pandemic) and Deliverance. Would Nemesis give the same experience if played Co Operatively?
Zombicide, pandemic and cthulhu death may die are my holy grail trio❤😅looking forward to playing deel rock galactic. Would you recommend project elite for solo play?
DMD is excellent... There is way too much plastic though (do we really need a mini for each investigator, coulsn't there be 3-4 variation of each to reduce the plastic overload?). The only thing that wouoe elevate it for me is a booklet for the maps. God I hate setting up maps with tiles.
While my tastes usually align pretty well with yours (well, you like area control more than I do), CDMD was not really for me: Having to learn slightly too many additional rules for each scenario (while at the same time not really changing the experience) and the fiddliness made us sell our copy again after playing each scenario once.
Shout out to Deliverance- the gameplay is phenomenal, the campaign, skirmish and leveling systems are extremely satisfying, and the production is off the charts, better than CMON even. Well worth 50% more than what they charged.
@@JasonRedeemed I'm exaggerating a bit, but I find it to be superior in many ways. For example, I prefer tracking damage to enemies instead of being forced to take them out in one hit. The weapons are more interesting, the gameplay is more varied and fun, the theme is outstanding, being able to dig tunnels through the terrain just like the video game is awesome, the minis are excellent, the upgrades are fun, the enemies are more varied, actual coop teamplay where you help each other using class abilities is cool, etc...
still waiting for you to get low on air and falling unconscious :) breath.... at least once a minute :)
If that ever happens, it's time to turn off RUclips permanently.
"Breathe" is the verb. "Breath" is the noun.

Our experience with Death May Die is so similar. It’s a great game!

TMB is such as amazing game! Just wish it was easier to teach

Nice, let me know how it goes :)
For Shadows, I'm interested in it but haven't played it

My biggest problem with zombicide is the time it takes to paint every mini. There are just too many.
Nice try board daddy but i could recognize that DRG box no matter how much you blur it !

When that RE 4 coming out .. see you slipped that in

Awesome list! Can you do this for Gloomhaven?
Would be nice if the latest Cthulhu DMD can be released.

Waiting for dceased....... waiting like 100 yrs it feels like 😭
Hi! I’ve been a subscriber since marvel zombicide was announced. Have you reviewed marvel zombicide yet?
No Valor & Villainy!?!
Marvel Zombies is also really close to Zombicide; it almost feels like just a reskin with slightly modified mechanics.
There is NO point in showing out of print games which cost hundreds of pounds. Draw attention to ones that are in print.
Shout out to Deliverance- the gameplay is phenomenal, the campaign, skirmish and leveling systems are extremely satisfying, and the production is off the charts, better than CMON even. Well worth 50% more than what they charged.
Lobotomy 2
Deep Rock Galactic is vastly superior to Zombicide. You should try it asap
I am curious, what makes it vastly superior? I've been interested in DRG but the high cost has put me off for some reason.

I would add: Keep the heroes out
'If you like Zombicide then play Pandemic' Whaaat? If you like a dice chucker play a worker placement game???
Both are games where you take actions to remove the bad stuff slowly creeping your way. In one, it's zombies, in the other, it's desease cubes :)
I find it reallt UNFORTUNATE that you only talk about those games
You own those boxes but did not bother to open them and show them
