I also learned to drive in a Jeepster. Drove over the garbage can at the end of the driveway on my first attempt. (I was 11).

Nice Jeepster! Again, so hard to find because most were driven to death, resurrected, and driven to death again. A fraternity brother's dad had one on his farm; if I remember correctly, it had one fender and lawn chairs as seats. It was used to go check on the cattle. Thanks again, Captain 'Stache!

Awesome JEEPSTER! Remember when Herman Munster took his exam in the Hearse Rod?

I'm glad he kept it with the pale yellow the design was to show Jeep(Willy's O)could be a company not just for building utility. But Jeep for more relaxed experience in a Jeep moniker.

Newer Jeeps have seven slots in the grill. My dad’s had several early Jeeps from the fifties, from factory style restoration to sitting on a modern frame with a 350/350 and still 4X4.

the 1949 Willys Overland Jeepster is a classic, but my fave modern AMC Jeep is the 1970-1973 Jeep Commando which looks like a modern Willys Jeep

Had one in the late 1950s. Think it was a 1951. Threw a rod and died a happy death.

The 1949 Willys - Overland Jeepster : It's from the Year of My Birth. So I want to like It. But frankly, It's about as endearing as a Ferrari "Bread Van" variant of the "GTO". Such things are subjective. But I pass. I would have preferred to spent some time with the red 'Sunbeam Tiger', that was parked, next to the Jeepster. It has a Better Story. The Only reason It wasn't a bigger success; was that Chrysler bought Sunbeam (U.K.) Of course, the 'Tiger' was born when; Ken Miles, & the Shelby Team had "shoe-horned" a Ford 260 V-8 into a Sunbeam 'Alpine'. But, None of the Chrysler V-8s could fit the Tiger ! So Tigers were sold on the floor of Plymouth dealerships; although they had Ford "260"s & later "289"s ! ! ! But when Sunbeam's Inventory of Ford V-8s ran out, the Tiger was History. Besides, It's also part of TV Comedy History. As It was the final car, in Maxwell Smart's Automotive Evolution. (The show, "Get Smart" : 1st - the VW 'Karmann-Ghia', 2nd - a Sunbeam "Alpine', & 3rd - the Sunbeam 'Tiger' )
