This is the best way ive seen so far to adding extensions to closed ends! I had bunched ends So i combed them out to braid in the human hair extensions and it was a fail. lol.
I have searched for months for a natural look with loc extensions. I’m a year Loc”d today🎉! I struggle with shrinkage in the back of my hair. I just bought extensions today and your video has brought a smile to my face!! The braided method is not for me. Thanks for taking the time to share the good and the bad. Your hair is beautiful!💜💜💜
I just started my microlocks in about August this year and I am really enjoying them. I have seen a number of microlockers who have done what you have done but have never stressed any warnings or cons regarding those extensions. I absolutely appreciate your honesty and your warning regarding this style. This gives everyone including myself an idea as to what to expect. I have started following you and have gone back to your beginning until now. I am learning many things from you. I am no where near ready to add any extensions. I am currently working with a great Loctician to get them good and established before I venture into any alternate styles. But when I get ready to do some extensions or add-ons, I will definitely be coming back to your video for guidance. Thank you so much. All the best to you😊
Thank you for watching! Hair health is really the most important. I am a firm believer that content creators have a duty to warn their audience when a style may damage the hair (like when adding color or extensions). I'm so glad you are enjoying your locs!
Im sorry it took so long! but I really didn't want to smile in yall face without being very clear about how it will impact your natural set. I personally trim almost an inch of hair every year anyway, so i knew I wouldn't miss it!
I’m glad you gave people a warning! Great video 💜 I added curly pieces to the ends to my Microlocs and when I took them out a lot of the ends were in shambles
yep! i'd hate to be shocked by it. I typically trim an inch a year anyway so I was fine, but I know many people don't trim and want to retain every single inch, so i couldn't set them up like that 😩
lol at this point my routine is just washing once a day because I use prescription tretinoin which dries the skin out soo much. I cover the tretinoin with lots of vaseline.
Beautiful! Your method definitely gives a more seamless look. I’m wearing curly ends now. This time I crocheted the hair into the bottom of my locs and then braided the extensions too. I was going for super secure 😂 Anyway, try a braid out. It definitely adds a little bang to the style. TFS! Congratulations on your career success!🎉
Thank you for posting this! I was thinking about doing this but the way my locs are set up right now…….I can’t do weak spots. Maybe in like 2 years when I got more hang time. I might spend the block to this video! Never delete it! 😢😂😊
lol it's not going anywhere! and I definitely feel you. in the beginning I held on to every inch. now that im several years in, I'll usually trim an inch a year, so potentially harming the ends was not that concerning to me.
yes! the braiding method is great because it is less harsh on the hair and faster, but definitely more short term and I knew I wanted these to last several months
yes the crotchet hook is so small that it has trouble grabbing both arms at the same time! I tried using the smallest hook possible so I didnt have to put big holes in the ends of my locs

yep braiding really works best with loose ends. It took me a while to think to just crotchet the hair in haha

Girl, I've been waiting for this video! But I really appreciate your due diligence and letting us know the risk

Beautiful Hair. And congratulations on your medical residency.
Cannot wait to see you trying a braid out or style as that will define weather I will go for it or not! They look amazing!!! Love it!
Absolutely beautiful!!! I love this technique much better than just braiding them on.
@@TEE18612 thanks! And i definitely prefer crotcheting for the look and longevity ☺️
Girl, can you please do an AM and PM skincare routine. You're glowing!
lol at this point my routine is just washing once a day because I use prescription tretinoin which dries the skin out soo much. I cover the tretinoin with lots of vaseline.
i absolutely love it. Planning on doing my loc like this for the summer months. new subscriber!
That’s awesome! I hope it turns out great! 😊

ill try a braid out and see how it goes, and thank you ❤️
Great illustration. It looks so beautiful Love it.
@@breakingbadgoddess thank you!
Finallyyyy, I am so excited to try it. Your hair looks lovely!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I hope it works out for you! ❤️
Beautiful, I'm going to try this!! Gorgeous!!!
Thank you so much! I hope it turns out great for you! 😊
you did that!! BEAUTIFUL!
Thanks, I’m so happy with how it turned out!

A great way to do this, so unique! Thanks for sharing. My way (braiding on the ends) is a more short term method lol
yes! the braiding method is great because it is less harsh on the hair and faster, but definitely more short term and I knew I wanted these to last several months
I am definitely doing this style! Thank you this is exactly what I need to spice my locs up 🌶️
Yess!! it cured my hair boredom immediately haha
This is beautiful wish my hair grew that long
thanks! and just give it time ❤️
Love this for added versatility! This reminds me of the micro braids I would often get. How long did this take you to do?
I’ve been thinking of doing this. I’ll be following for tips.
Congratulations girl! Keep going 🎉
Hey this has nothing to do with the video, but can we please get a wash routine. Love the content btw ❤
Beautiful!
Love love this. Doing!! Thank you so much
Your hair is nice and the method too!
But how do i take them out?
Is there a reason you grab one arm and not both at a time through the center ?
yes the crotchet hook is so small that it has trouble grabbing both arms at the same time! I tried using the smallest hook possible so I didnt have to put big holes in the ends of my locs
@@NapsAreTheNewBlack got you
I'm about 1.7 months...can I still attach the curls at my ends?
Congratulations 🎊🍾 🎉🧑🏽⚕️
How is the shedding, thanks for sharing
doesn't shed much at all bc I dont brush the curly ends. But there is some shedding when i wash them!
Very pretty.
Thank you! 😊
What about the retightening process - did it get harder because of the extensions?
pplease make a vidoes or short explaining how to take them out
Beautiful love🤩🖤👍👍
thank you 🥰
love it!!
@@ShayShea thank you!
slayyyyyyyyyy 👏
❤
What length of curly hair did you use
18" but could've gotten away with 14-16" since I cut most of them
How would you remove them?
cut the fake hair up to the end of my loc and then pull the loop of hair out an inch above, where it was originally inserted.
I was all for this until this video. You know I’m lazy. I don’t know if I can do this. I am bored with my ends though…
@@valriehames3537 it was definitely a big time investment!
Yeah; no.
that's okay! everything isnt for everyone
