    Thank you for making this video!!
    I've watched a couple of others videos of guys explaining this process, but your way of explaining and showing the wiring breakdown is the best I've seen. Keep it up!

    It is up to you and your individual needs. You can have a feed for each switch loop or 1 feed for all 3 switch loops. Ultimately it should depend on the load.

    yes I can do that but it is the same for a single setup you are just doing it 3 times. But I will do the video for you.

    I have an older house which has multiple 3 way and 4 way switches. I was having wall and ceiling work done and the contractor removed most of switches and lights. it is easy to figure out where the lights go (on the ceiling) but I am trying to figure out which wires feed the lights. What is the best way to do that? Do I attach a simple light fixture and try to work the switches with a multimeter? What would I look for? For example on one floor I have six switches (2 3ways 1 4 way and 1 single pole, 1 3 way to a different room and single pole to a closet and a kitchen all operating out of the same room. Power does not come from the main light. I know where the power comes in at just trying to identify the wires at the end of the run. to the light

    thank you so much for your explanations! They truly are helpful. My 3-way switch system is a little bit different. My power is coming into a box that is between the light and another three-way switch. Could you help me understand how to wire it that way.

    Thank you. Your explanations and drawings are excellent. When this wiring method is used, looks like both switches have exactly the same wiring configuration. So am I correct to assume that if one needs to replace one of the switches, it's not important to know whether this is the switch with the 2 wire Romex connected to the electric panel or to the light? Thanks again for your outstanding video.

    • @Tyrone3340
      @Tyrone3340  8 лет назад

      +Alex S If you replace a switch you could wire it the way the old switch was wired, providing that everything was in good working order before the switch failed that you intend to replace.

    Thanks so much for posting the schematic of how the switch works. That helped a great deal. Could you produce a video showing how one might convert a two way switch to have one switch control the light and convert the other switch to a 110 outlet.

    • @Tyrone3340
      @Tyrone3340  5 лет назад

      no such thing as a 2 way switch but you can have 2 switches one controlling the light and the other the outlet. The video for single pole switches apply here.

    • @station-wb4izc
      @station-wb4izc 5 лет назад

      I'm sorry maybe I was not clear. I have a hallway where the Builder installed two switches to control one light. I was wondering if there is a way to remove one of the switches so that the light is only controlled by one switch and use the power that fed the 2nd switch to feed a new 110 outlet to be installed below the switch plate location. Thanks, Steve@@Tyrone3340

    • @Tyrone3340
      @Tyrone3340  5 лет назад

      cbrnews if one of the switches has the 110v feeder coming in then yes you can do what you want however there is a small chance that the feeder is not in either switch box. That is unlikely but possible.

    Hey Tyrone, Thanks for crystal clear videos. Yours 3-way switch tutorial is excellent. It simplified the theory and operation of how the parts go together better than I have seen before. This good of instruction should cost money. Thanks for helping a novice do it yourselfer learn a new procedure and possibly save a few dollars down the line.
