- Need for Speed Underground 2. This game doesn't even need an introduction.. Millions upon million of NFS players grew up with this golden gem. Me being one of the many who grew up with NFS Underground 2 going back to this game put an even bigger smile on my face than I expected. If you so happen to have never played NFS U2, I am here to tell you to get this game TODAY, and live through the early 2000's / mid 2000's Fast and Furious influenced NFS titles like Underground 2. For the engine sounds, there are specific parts that changes the sound for each kit. I knew wich of them but cant remember right now. Just manual install each part to find out which one does the sound change so you can install all parts except the one that changes the sound. So you will not lose much performance.
Edit: I found out which one for each stage
Perf exhaust on stage 1
Cat back exhaust system on stage 2
Blueprint thr block on stage 3
These are the specific parts that changes the engine sound.

@@paveltanev8202 yup took me forever tho to realize it was a Evo. I knew it was from the loading screen but I never could see what the car was since the entire front side was resigned and removed all trim
10:40 so you have discovered "the cursed wall", every single AI in this race (specifically this URL layout) does this waird uncintrolable turn into a wall even if you try to push them to the other side they will do everything to hit that specific wall right there, probably AI track coding bug
Exactly, there was a video about the track route editor. It showed that you can let the opponents crash in underground 1/2 if you edit it. Sadly I can't find the vid again, I think it got deleted :/

hey man the performance system in nfsu2 is more detailed than you think. Stage 3 isn't the best. Stage 3 is only the best once stage 1 , then 2 then 3 is applied - some parts from stage 1 and stage 2 are still used/carried over with the stage stage 3 upgrades. For example, it explains why your gear changes on all your cars extremely slow, you only have stage 3 transmission, the 6 speed gearbox applied and only that is applied. You haven't upgraded the clutch or flywheel in stage 1 and 2 hence the sluggish response. Please install stage 1,2 and 3 instead of only doing just stage 3 for way better performance :)

It still amazes me years later that I can learn so much in this game. Like for example not just adding stage 3 parts but also carrying over parts of stage 1 and 2. Some better than others and for some to give a better sound obviously too. Sometimes tho some people never put the turbo upgrade tho but I can't understand why tho.
Alters the sounds your car makes.
You can actually still upgrade and preserve the stock Skyline engine sound, you just need to avoid the exhaust related components. Still also means that, yes, you will not be able to paint engine accents anymore as these are required parts for it.
Depending on the instslled components, it's also possible to make it sound like a 350z.
i like how traffic in this game is absolutely random, not calculated to perfectly hit you.

i played this game recently lol and all the visual upgrades were heavily outdated i thought they were all pretty ugly man then i learnt there was a mechanic in the game that hindered ur progress sometimes barred it if you didnt make use of said visual customisations can u imagine how pissed i was🤣🤣
Yeah, re visual the first Underground was pretty low-key in comparison (though maybe it was just simply because of the game's tech limitations at the time) and aged (slightly) better. Thank goodness that from Most Wanted on it became purely optional (or in the case of the games that had heat police levels, to lower your heat).
I hope you're just joking cause there's nothing to expect from this game unless you use mods

I miss this game, had it on my dads PC when I was a kid and that game was my first racing game that I really fell in love with, my parents was divorced and my mom had a new guy in another city and I lived with my mom and I had a PS2 and had NFSU2 and I had my own room and my own TV but one friday evening I got permission to plug it in the TV in the living room so my mom, her new husband, my little sister and I believe my moms husbands brother was there, either him or a friend of theirs don't remember that clearly but they all watched me play it and we either took turns playing or I had my 2nd controller plugged so 2 of us was playing at the same tim (if that was possible on the PS2 don't remember clearly there either) but anyways. This video made me go back into the early 2000's...thank you. The nostalgia
Dude if you have a PC you can download the ps2 emulator and use a ps4 or ps5 controller to play the game, I re-download, underground ², street racing syndicate, most wanted 2005, and Tokyo xtreme racer zero. The ps2 start up always and always make me smile, then loading screen wooo, try it man

10:35-11:05 are those some kind of glitches or the developer made it intentionally? Because i always noticed those things when playing URL races.
That'd be something pretty silly to do intentionally. Most likely the devs didn't have time to fine-tune AI pathing on all tracks
Great content as always.
When it comes to engine sounds there is another "hack" when it comes to gears changing sound. If you turn on V-sync you will get more natural and aggresive shift sound rather than strange long granny like shifting. I know that it will cap the game on 60 FPs but it is worth it for overall sound immersion.

About keeping the original engine sound of skyline r34, upgrade everything else except the exhaust and the other one i can't remember well.. maybe the head block
for better car sounds I can recommend you guys getting the pabloracer car engine sound mod pack
I don't know if anyone really uses this but if you install each kit sequentially you get even more performance because some parts carry over with the new one. So if you want more, install 1 then 2 then 3 and not just 3
I have been driving the Evo for some time and i drift with it while the front wheels are spinning and pressing the e-brake. Maybe it's the same as FWD cars too I've never tried that.

SHDWSKII, if you wanna have the original sound of the cars, just remove Blueprint the block and Cat back Exhaust System and performance exhaust.
3:55 all u need to get that sound is not to stock the engine, just remove the "blueprint the block" instead return to stock the engine
Ohh, you can do it in supra also. Just install cat back onstead of blueprint block :)

I think the AI behaves in this funky way because the game is running on settings it wasn't made for, like widescreen and a modern SO, so the AI gets confused.

I like this game so much
It doesn't have to be the fully stock engine to have the original sound of the RB26, put all the engine parts except the 3 parts of the exhaust and the blueprint the block.

Of this game ever got a remaster no microtransactions no bullshit EA and if possible completely uncensored soundtrack (there are uncensored versions of all the censored songs though I think just for that this game might get a T rating for just that but a guy can dream
