It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, Holiday Inn, A Christmas Story. Oh, yeah.......Going My Way, The Young Messiah, The Greatest Story Ever Told, ad infinitum.
Charlie BrownChristmas IS definitely my fav! BUT. Rudolph is a very close second!! As a young child, 8 years old, I took my brothers audio cassette recorder ( without asking him! Yikes! ) and audio recorded the entire Rudolph show! Later I listened to the audio over and over for years! That’s why I KNOW about scenes bring added and/or cut! Today I watch it as often as it is shown! Ps- I till don’t like the new ending when Yukon throws his pick in the air and “ tastes” peppermint and Rudolph’s family all bragging about him. These films with stop motion animation are WARMER and have a human touch because an actual person has to physically move the puppets and the models to make it happen. These modern CGI cartoons leave me COLD with its lifeless animation.
Ya, I was paying closer attention to the traces of human touch this last time after researching the movie. I like Bumble for that reason because you can see the where fingers have touched his fur.
Always remember that although CGI is done by computer it still takes either one or multiple people to sit for hours and make the animations but before hand a computer art design team has to make each and every thing that is in the animated show or movie.
@@josephbennett3482 AGREED! However, the computer does the "Lions Share" of the work. The resulting images and motion are COLD to me. It's JUST like when I compare CGI to SuperMarionation.

The memories!! Oh how wonderful and magical those days were. Days gone. Thank you so much for bringing a tiny bit of joy. Something I can show my children and grandchildren.
Bumble is actually about 20 inches tall, and the lack of 8 reindeer is no mistake, when making the special they were told to not give Rudolph the title of santas 9th reindeer
Herme's first line is "I'm not happy in my work" which is one of the iconic lines from Bridge on the River Kwai. I didn't realize this until I was an adult.

I've heard about how the voices for "Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer" were recorded in Canada. At that time, Canadian radio still broadcast radio dramas with actors, much like what existed in America during the "golden days of radio." Many of the voices in the program were done by Canadian radio actors, including the one who played Hermy the elf.
I’ve heard that the one song “Fame and Fortune” replaced “We’re a couple of Misfits” in 1965, the year after the movie debuted. Before bringing back the old song we all hear and laugh at today.
Cgi animation is made on computers, by animators who sit on chairs nearly all day. Disney is a pretty good example, as well as DreamWorks and Sony Pictures Animation. To me, cgi is both soulful and soulless.

there is a reason for only 7 reindeers. folks were calling Rudolph the 9th reindeer and the makers of Rudolph did not want him to have that title, so they only agreed to make the film if Rudolph became the seventh reindeer eliminating two reindeers. They wanted Rudolph to be known as Rudolph the red nosed reindeer and not the ninth reindeer.
I noticed there were only 7 reindeer many years ago and i figured that since Rudolph's addition to the sleigh team was a last minute addition so Santa and the team didn't have a 9 reindeer harness setup so they had to make do with what they had so they just modified the 8 reindeer harness into a 7 reindeer harness

You didn't talk about how the DVD has errors. It has 2 added scenes, one being the extended version of we are Santa's elves. t was cut out of the special for years because it was too long. Then for some reason it was put back in in 1998. There was also a scene added when it was remastered called the peppermint mine, this scene makes no sense whatsoever. In 1965 it was cut out, due to the letters you were talking about because people were angry. They replaced that scene with the one with Santa picking up the misfit toys. So that's why those scenes should be cut out and a new DVD/Blu-ray should be released.

I have been trying to remember... my daughter used to point out an inconsistency about the girl doll when we watched Rudolph. I wish I could remember what it was. I haven’t watched it with her in many years.
