0:22 Am I hunting or just being hunted My X-Buster is ready for an all out fight, Looking for questions that are never answered and yet I fight on,I fight on for peace tonight.
This is an insanely good arrangement of arguably my favorite song from the X series. Considered doing a fully instrumented cover of this for awhile. Well done!
Both classic mega man and mega man x have one thing in common: Both first fortress themes from their second games are my favorite songs in mega man ever.
How fast one can like another stone remix is a phenomenon in its self. Dude this mix is shred heaven, by far my favorite x theme. Can't wait for what comes next, I'm hoping something genesis related like gunstar heroes.
As a guitar player, I've got to say that the plug-in/vst guitar emulation is pretty damn convincing. The first piece of yours that I heard was a Megaman Spark stage remix/cover. I picked up a guitar and worked on the phrasing and finger placement before I realized that you were #1-Alexi Laiho from COB with a new fascination with video games or #2 the most impressive guitar player I've seen in quite some time. Seeing that program is awesome!! I didn't even know that type of tone was feasible using a VST! It really does sound like a mid heavy, high gain, boosted tube amp (engl, modded Marshall maybe even an old Lee Jackson GP-1000). Fooled me!
Thanks! Honestly, it's insanely flattering that some people mistake my stuff for actual live played guitar. The digital amp I'm using here is Guitar Rig 5 if you're interested in trying it out, but if you have physical amps and pedals there's really no need to dabble with the simulated stuff.
The live fretboard is certainly cool, but I always just pretended you were this 'relatively unknown rock god,' even though I knew it was FL studio n stuff. The imagination is fun that way~ ;) In all seriousness, once again you made yet another remix that is just... incredible. Bravo~
Haha! I think I'm getting better at making the lead sound a bit more realistic but I've certainly got a long way to go in that regard. I don't think I'm fooling anyone just yet ;>
This escalated the already unbelievable amazing x series ost to a whole other level!! You should realm look up some ZX tracks such as "Rocking on" or "trap factory" I think you would make a great remix of those
Now all we need is Zero's X3 theme, and maybe the X2 opening and Zero themes, and we've got all the most rocking tracks I can think of from the series. Stone, get on it! Nah I'm jk, great remix, and I do hope you do those tracks I mentioned eventually :)
Lemme know how it goes. It's just an auto-generated fretboard so I have no idea how it behaves really, finger positions are probably completely fucked.
Yeah, there'll be more. Uploads are slow at the moment because I'm swamped and I'm trying to do things with the last few remaining songs I wanna do and it's not really working out the way I want, but after Suck a Sage there'll be more MMX.
sweet, one i hadn't heard before. after hearing them a few times there are some songs i'm legitimately more in love with than like, stuff normal people fall in love with, ya know people and drugs and stuff, nah. i'll take stone mcknuckles music and some gunpowder any day.
*thinks* How abouuut... Vile's theme from Megaman X8? Underrated, mostly unseen, and I'd assume it would be interesting to see what it would look like in your style. Oh also, I'm in love with this remix's beginning/end. It... It just works so well.
I haven't dug too much into your channel, but if you haven't done Final Fantasy stuff, you should totally look into it. They have some tracks I think would really fit your style. :D GG WP love this remix!
I wanna do some Mystic Quest stuff at some point and I've promised to try the battle theme from Final Fantasy XIII (eww), but I've no other plans for FF stuff really. Maybe revisiting some stuff from FFVI, but that's a big maybe.
Awesome, man. All the FF soundtracks are decent at worst, phenomenal at best. Decisive Battle from FF6 fits your playstyle really well, I think. Thanks for the reply! Keep shredding. :D PS I did go and look at more of your channel. Your love for Mega Man makes me happy.
@@StoneMcKnuckle Likewise, haha. I tried playing past X6, but just couldn't, and X6 wasn't all that great either. It felt like the series sort of faceplanted all of a sudden after that. Kinda sad.
I'm generally not a fan of the X4 soundtrack, but people keep requesting songs from it so I might do one or two eventually. Nothing's in progress at the moment though.
I don't like a single track on the soundtrack. I think it's just the sound in general - either the mixing or the samples used - that rubs me the wrong way somehow. It's my favorite X game though, so I should probably show it some love at some point. ;> EDIT: Actually, I really like the Japanese opening theme, ruclips.net/video/oBxZ8CkIwYM/видео.html, but I kinda feel like that one doesn't count. Hey Stone McKnuckle, maybe u can try a few tracks from Baten Kaitos. In particular, I thought of Violent Storm and Vitriolic a Stroke/Metallic Stroke. They're right up your alley, bro.
Are you going to continue making MMX Remixes? Absolutely amazing to jam out to, especially while playing the new Legacy collection that recently came out. Love your work, keep it up! (Shameless request) You should see if you can amp up Blaze Heatnix's Theme from MMX6
Kind of wish as megaman and zero, you were able to save sigma somehow at some point and maybe have had him as a playable character after a few games of him gaining new abilities through his journey as a maverick. I thought it was kind of sad how he got corrupted in trying to save his men.
I want to and I most likely will, but I kind of want to retain a lot of the original's feel and that's proving to be really difficult for me. I'll figure it out eventually.
Sounds very good! I'm remaking this theme myself as well. I made a re arrangement a while ago with SNES soundfont but now that I'm a gown up adult and have money to buy juicy awesome super duper cool VST's, I re doing my songs. *Didn't know about V-Metal*. Did you use it for the lead of the rhythm? Sounds cleaner than Shreddage II, my choice for virtual electric guitar. Shreddage is cool for rhythms, but it kinda sucks for leads, unless I put lots of effort on the sequence and effects to hide its defects.
I started out exclusively with Shreddage, then used Shreddage for rhythm and V-Metal for lead, but now everything's V-Metal. It's awesome. Shreddage is a lot more forgiving with fucked up custom chords, is easier to make "fat" or "screamy" since the direct line is recorded at rather high volume compared to V-Metal, it has a smaller memory footprint and is easier to work with in general, so yeah... I really, really like Shreddage. For the price it's the best value guitar VST out there. V-Metal's just better though. For comparison, try to make Shreddage sound like this: ruclips.net/video/h4heTSdzaCk/видео.html To be honest, S.S.H. is Lord and Master and I can't make V-Metal sound this realistic either, but this at least serves as a good example of the library's potential.
