Man, I hope you like what you do here with these videos, because you have an amazing talent, not only to play and sign, but also to teach. This is for sure one of things you were born to do, and you are lucky enough to have found it. I am getting really addicted to your videos. It is also nice because a few year ago I thought they were too advance for me and now I can follow you most of them!! Just wanted to say thanks for all this!!
Dang I was close ,I hate when I give up so easy, but now I can move on to something else, this song stood the test of time , thank you guitar teacher and thank you Dando, great number
Your voice is absolutely beautiful (and PERFECT for this song). I love The Lemonheads and to a degree that it's hard to chose a favorite song however "It's a shame about Ray" and "Into your arms" are two of my most favorite songs. I am just beginning guitar and immediately searched for this sheet music and even purchased it. Unfortunately, after viewing the music it's clear this is definitely not a beginner's song and I will not be playing this anytime soon. Should've known it wasn't going to be easy because Evan Dando is an amazing guitarist and his music always has strange chords and complex variations. I look forward to the day I can play this very much but definitely enjoyed your voice and skill. It would be amazing if you could do a video where you just play the entire song through. Thanks so much for posting this!
My friend, a far more advanced player, and I used to do this song at coffee houses back in the nineties. I would play the straight open chords and he would play the more interesting inverted chords. It sounded quite nice especially with the harmonies we would incorporate into the song. Once again, great song choice.
i saw a lesson by Andy Partridge here on you tube where he shows the inverted E cord and suggests this is what made XTC sound different than other bands
Yes interesting , these kind of inversions are all over XTC songs. Such a good songwriting trick, and an easy way of making otherwise familiar chord progressions sound fresh.
Very nicely figured out and explained. I think it's hilarious that Evan himself also confirmed your good work. And I agree with Brendan Tindall- you can sing pretty well!
Wow. Thanks so much for posting this incredibly helpful video. ED tunes just aren't the same w/o those wacky chord inversions, but I haven't been able to figure out what they are on my own. Would love to see more vids for Lemonheads tunes (Break Me)!
Thanks so much Adrian!😊 This is a super helpful lesson. For now I’m playing the inverted E chord without the low E string; sounds okay. With Halloween fast approaching, would you consider doing a (simplified) tutorial for “Ghosting” by Mother Mother?? Again, many thanks! 👻❤
Super, E chord inversion makes it, grwat to learn new song and new chord...thanks, you got Pateon page, would like to tip ya to show appreciation for all your work
Dude, play that in a pub an' yer gonna get a pint er twelve. A few bob, few quid, penny for the baby, bangers 'n mash and a loverly Guinness to wursh it down.
You are correct , sir !
Ha - nice to get confirmation from the horse's mouth. That weird E chord inversion is genius.
Why Evan Dando is awesome #114

One of my favorite songwriters
Evan Dando the lemnheads videos

You have done so many lessons of moderately obscure songs I love. thank you for your videos

This guy is a fantastic teacher that has amazing taste in music. Maybe some Manchester-esc bands, like Charatans UK or Pale Saints?
Finally someone who gets the chords right!

Awesome. Great, accurate (as far as I can tell) and easy tutorial. Is that a D-28? I have one almost identical.
Thanks Rick. Yes, D28, my favourite acoustic by far.
well done!
Another great lesson thanks! And Pelican Mouse approves.
Thank you !
Nice bro,thank you
hey man can you put a lesson to teenage fanclub- everything flows or alcoholiday
I'll definitely consider it - I do very much like the Teenage Fannies, and there aren't many you tube lessons out there covering their songs.
Anything by Teenage Fanclub would be great 👍
Good job dude

The Postman always knocks/rings twice
Wait a minute mister postman
JFC! Adrianne!
It's not grunge. I don't know how that all got started. Probably appearances.
What was in the packages delivered by the postie ?! ... I'm going to have a guess ... top quality lingerie ?! ... or bicycle parts ? ...
It’s Grunge
Thanks 😊
Thank you
