I LOVE the Lemonheads! I was just in Minneapolis and was bummed because I had to miss them. I just found out I'm gonna see them here in KC in 2 days on my birthday! YAY...
I was 19 when this came out and I wished it was longer. The whole LP infact. Then, older and, some might say (although not many), a bit wiser, I realised that's part of its beauty. Like the butterfly. The song is there. Then it's gone. Unless you put it on repeat of course but that's not the point. I've forgotten what the point is except that I was stupid when I was young.
I'm pretty sure that's actress Polly Noonan in the video as well. She talked about the filming of this video and is friends with the band. She was the little girl with the thick glasses on the school bus in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
Such a great song, just seen them last night in Hull on their uk tour, even with some major technical issues they soldiered on, still magic after all these years, one of the best :)
I am going through that with a bunch of other bands...THIS ONE, I loved at the time, but I forgot all about them and NOW I am enjoying them like never before!!! We are all Time Travelers!❤

I met him after a show in DC back in the day...we were both 26. We talked alot, he talked about Australia, he told me that I should not be working at a think tank in DC, we kissed!, and I went home. The next morning, I went to work at the think tank, and I told the story to my co worker who had a quirky sense of humor and put a post it note on my office door, dubbing me Reneee Lemon! Days later, I was in line at the grocery store and there he was on People Magazine, one of the 50 most beautiful people, wearing exactly what he was wearing the night I met him! I go to trivia and my friend, the host, often plays a Lemonheads song. She was fascinated by and could not believe how cool my story. I hope he is well... didn't look like he was doing too great, lately?
He was living in Sydney at the time and co-wrote the song with an Australian mate. I remember the Sydney indie-scene showed him (envious) snobbish disrespect, like Sydney's alt-pub-rock scene was way too cool for him. Screw those posers, it's a beautiful song.
@@BrettGrady-vf4kx i was only 3 in 1992 when this song came out lol. but dnt wrry y'all, i'm with ya. Been a lot of hard and kinda sad, grinded years for me since 1992 too....
Y'all have nothing to complain about in terms of "old". I was 37 when it came out. I loved the song then, and I still play it on my guitar at least once a month.
Literally. Peretez was going to Harvard while touring between semesters, lol. Julianna Hatfield replaced him as bassist who went to a top tier school so you are probably right, lol. One thing that was kind of cool though is it was nice to take a break from the alt that made you feel more suicidal. But it was definitely bubblegrunge.
Their music was always so listenable
One of my favorite songs of the 90s.
Same
What a perfect little pop rock gem. Simple & just wonderful.
Seeing them perform tonight again! It has been so long
It's just a brilliant song👍
Evan is an angel and probably Jesus of alternative Rock. May he stay forever young… .
This whole album is amazing. Every song on it brings back so many good memories. Evan and the bands best work👍
Wonderful song❤

Back then you couldn't just look someone up on the internet either. When people were gone they were gone.
This extended rayyy is magical 1:17

Is your name Ray?
It is a perfect 90s-indie pop song. It's not Evan fault he was so cute!

I don’t know how I’m just now finding JD in this music video , but I’m so grateful I came across this. Love this song.
We all miss you Ray Doggie.

Cool story. I saw him last year and he seems a little bit in shambles.

This seems so long ago now. I was 20 when this song was out. What happened, when did we get old.
I was 17, full of hope and optimism, had a great 7-8 years ahead of me, been a bit of a grind and disappointment since then...I feel your pain.

I missed Juliana Hatfield in 1998 at her show in Baltimore ; )
So looking forward to hearing them play rhe entire album.
0:24 Johnny Depp! 🤩
Had a driving instructor called Ray, he was a dick, so this song has a special place in my heart
Great song, lingers in ur mind and let's ur soul streeetch out
I've got a fever... and the only prescription... is more jangly guitars!
Finding Juliana Hatfields “Only Everything” in a CD Album bundle brought me here
Her music rules!!
this song reminds me of that ethereal feeling caught by steven wilson
Just lost my friend Ray. This helps.
Sorry for your loss, sending hugs 🫂
I'm Ray 👍🏼👍🏼
Why isn't Juliana on bass in the video??
I want to go back.
It’s not fair and it’s not right ❤

Johnny seemed to have his finger on the pulse of everything alt rock in the late 80s/early 90s didn’t he?

So whats this song about?
I’m a Ray.
He and Johnny Depp were friends until Dando slept with Kate Moss.
Who didn't sleep with Kate? She was so mystified on heroin she didn't know what end was up most of the time.
Sino andito dahil sa Eraserheads?😅
Here to differentiate this tune with Alapaap by E-Heads. Haha.

is this a rip off of learn to fly by foo fighters?
