  • This video was recorded in Minecraft version 16w40a, but should work in almost any version. If you attempt to break the bomb, it will automatically explode. This bomb is different from existing Tamper-proof bombs because it doesn't use the extended piston BUD glitch. Instead, it directly BUD powers the TNT. This way, powering the bomb externally will ignite it (not disable it). Arming the bomb involves moving the central redstone blocks out of place and replacing them with immovable blocks (Extended pistons). If you break the piston to replace the redstone blocks, the top pistons will update the whole device, triggering it after 1 gametick. Disarming this bomb would require breaking both the extended pistons and replacing them with redstone blocks all in the same gametick, which is near impossible. The torches are there both to power the top pistons and to pass updates around the bomb. When one torch is updated, they all update, which updates all the TNT.

    Hello XeroOl,
reacently I have found this Video and built your Bomb into my world and tested out how I could disable this.
After a couble of minutes and knowing how redstone works in this game, I knew what to do to not trigger the Bomb!
The only two redstone blocks that won't activate the Bomb are under the two extended pistons. This little piece of information is the solution of the puzzle, because if you break them and place a piece of redstone instead (to both), then all the other redstone wires will look to the glassblocks and the redstone (that you have placed) in the center.
Now all redstone wires, that would give an blockupdate to the tnt's are defused, so now you can easily destroy everything, without getting surprised by triggered tnt.
This is easily done in survival mode. What you need: two redstone dust, any blocks, pickaxe (to build under the Bomb and destroy the redstone blocks under the extended pistons), a piston and a lever.
    1. Dig under the bomb and destroy the two redstone blocks
    2. Walk in the hole so that your head is under the extended piston of the bomb where the redstone block was
    3. Place the piston from your inventory and a block so, that when you push the lever, to extend the piston, at the lower body of the character the block lies and you should now be able to place the redstone above the block , that your Player is stuck and your head is in an air block (under the extended piston from the bomb)
    4. Dig carefully your way to the second extended piston from the bomb and repeat the process from before.
    5. When the outer redstone wires are looking into the center and the glass blocks, then the bomb is disarmed and it will not make any blockupdates to the tnt.
Hope I could help you ;-) (I'm German, so sorry for any write errors)
    ~Thomas

also btw in 80% sure this bomb would explode even if you broken both pistons and replaced them with redstone blocks, even in the same gametick.

Matthew Bolan I've also found a way to defuse it. I'd like to see if we have the same defusal strategy. :-)

Matthew Bolan Here's why the redstone blocks in 1 gametick method works: With the redstone blocks in place, the redstone is redirected, which means that neither the torches nor the TNT are powered. The pistons on the top would extend when the vertical pistons are removed, but since the redstone block keeps all of the torches/TNT in valid states, the updates from the top piston don't actually affect the bomb, and the bomb is defused.

XeroOl yes i understand that, its just that the way torches and tnt update, they would ALWAYS update before the redstone is, causing the bomb to explode no matter how fast you replace them. Ill run this test later today and see if Im right.
