People need to realise that Erik is 34 years old this year, Bach in his prime was only 20-21, by the time Bach turned 27 in 1995 his voice already blew up, far cry from the 1st and 2nd album. So vocals wise Erik at 34 wins for me.
lol what? his voice on Subhuman Race was 5x more powerful than Slave. Slave was great, and lots of high pitch, but Subhuman Race was in its own league. Ranges, variations, low ends, high ends, mid ends, growls, screams, screeches. Nothing even stands close
also LMAO @ voice blew up at 27. yeah, thats why he went to sing on Broadway for 10 years and became an opera singer. with a blown up voice. you have no clue what you're talking about bro. also, you ever heard his Angel Down album from 2007? Or even the one from 2015. He's over 40 on those records and sounds incredible. Both the records sounded like the extensions of Slave and Subhuman that should have been Skid Row.
As a singer, i can tell you for sure, the voice is changing 3-4 times through the years. Bach, was on voice change. He was becoming a man. Through that time, he was trying to find the way his voice was working. And he did find it.... Have you heard anything from his solo work? Even before his solo albums...He was KILLER. His voice was bigger, stronger and on point.
Bach was a good singer, and boy did he know it!!! But he was an arrogant, vain person who also came across as selfish!! You guys are far better now with your brilliant new singer, everybody seems more relaxed and it shows in your music and performances 🤘🎸❤️❤️ Love you guys🤘🤘
Lol, a front man for a rock band with an ego! Omggg people act like Bach was the ONLY person to ever have an attitude. Erik is amazing but cmon he is no Bach in his prime. I saw Skid row open for Aerosmith way back in the day and it’s still one of the greatest bands I’ve seen.
@@jaymeU2 I am talking more about the way he treated his band mates like scum, as if he was way better than them, which he definitely wasn't!! I saw myself the way he talked too and treated his dedicated fans too, he was/is an arrogant, ignorant human being 😡 Yes he was a good singer, but his whole attitude stank!! They are well rid !!!
and the "WAS a great singer" is quite important if they want to do anything more then pose. Its perfect that Bach is doing solo so people who cant get enough of Bach can go and get their kicks
Erik es muy buen cantante tube el honor de ver a skid row en vivo en el masters of rock chile 2023 y fue la gran sorpresa ❤ ademas que todos son muy guapos 😊 besitos a todos desde chile 🤘🥰😍❤️
I didn't care for Skid Row after Sebastian, but I also didn't care for Sebastian after Skid Row and now I love Skid Row again and I feel like I'm 19 and it's '89 again. I am however tired of people still trying to push Sebastian on Skid Row becaus of either nostalgic reasons or they are stuck in the past. Can't we just have Skid Row with Erik and Sebastian solo and leave it at that? I'm sorry, but Sebastian doesn't do the songs justice anymore, and Skid Row doesn't need him. Great interview. Skid Row are back!
Prime Bach was untouchable. There were very few singers to reach that level of talent. But, that "prime" lasted 5 years and Bach hasn't been great in decades. The guys in SR always said they wouldn't take Sebastian back. Had they done so, they would lose a lot of integrity, and they would have taken Bach back simply for money. And you'd be able to tell in their performance that they were phoning it in for money. They'd record a lack luster album with no passion, just to cash in. And they would have kicked out Bach a year later and be back at square one. Bach wouldn't be able to sing the catalog live. Sure, fans would be happy to see him up there, but they would soon realize how much the songs lack because of Bach's voice. Even in his own band, it doesn't sound like Skid Row, even with the band playing the same notes, and with Bach singing. He abused himself and lost that golden voice. Erik injected a new energy into the band. You can see how happy they are. There is no stress of the loose cannon causing issues for the band. In the 90's it was tolerable. After all, Skid Row wouldn't have gotten big without Sebastian. He made them. He set them apart from the run of the mill rock band back then. But, they are passed that and I'm glad. They found the right guy that will bring a newer audience to their music and give them a shot in the arm, making them relevant again. The new album could have easily been right after STTG. The fact that it sounds like Skid Row with Erik, means that Bach wasn't the only driving force, the song writers were.
Well dude.. we all have opinions and I appreciate yours differing from mine. However, I do understand what you're saying but I just don't feel the same way about this band as I once did when Sebastian was singer. Erik for me at his peak is way off what Sebastian once was. Erik has no stage presence at all. Yes, I agree that Sebastian struggles now, but he is older. I don't think Skid Row will ever be 'relevant' again like you're trying to say. They've never been able to shake Sebastian's presence and the fact that people like me and you are still debating it only proves my point! @@itsalwayssomething7490
That's a lame comment.. Would you say that to his face knowing damn well you'd probably never know who Skid Row was without that awful guy? @@shellybean9
@@KeithDaviesMusic I'm never going to meet him and I stand by what I said, nobody's missing and Bach sounds awful now. Skid Row has Erik and he's doing an amazing job. Besides Rachel said there was a piece missing for him, and why would HE be talking about Bach? It's not a lame comment, if it's true? Btw, if Skid Row hadn't hired him in the first place we wouldn't know who either of them are. They didn't hire him by choice, they already had a singer, Matt Fallon. They were told by Doc McGhee, that he liked their sound, but they had to find another singer, so that is the only reason they fired Matt. They were planning on and had already begun recording with Matt, plus they had already been opening for Bon Jovi with Matt singing. They fired Matt and it took nine months to find Bach.
Well he is no more. Was funny to see the bands acting and living the we found the sacred land with Erik after decades of failing. Ooops he is gone now so back to reality.
The bottom line is Sebastian brought them to their success,.they had Matt didn't work he wasn't a star. Sebastian Bach was and still is a star! They got tired of Sebastian getting all the attention and they got jealous like little girls. No one is perfect for God sakes Sebastian was only 19 yrs old he was wild and that's what we as fans loved he wasn't fake! These guys are rediculous give Sebastian a chance again everyone else he plays with gets along with him....they just can't get past their pettiness. No one wants to see this band without Sebastian! Grow up guys especially Rachel!!!! Big baby !!!!! Love you Sebastian!!!!!please get your ass and bring him BACH! Or it's over for you! Forever!
100% agree with your comment about the band being over! I used to worship the ground these guys walked upon! I think the problem with this band is Rachel's ego.. 1st rule of fight club is - never trust a guy with a girl's first name!
This band is sounding better than ever right now and performing at all the big rock/ metal fests oversea right now, while Bach plays a 75 seater Backyard BBQ under a tent butchering Skid Row classics. Skid Row are far from over, just because YOU say so. You're comment is also one of the dumbest and clueless comments I have ever heard.
I was on the Sebastian train forever. After hearing Erik I’m off the train and rocking the new album.
Congratulations Skid Row my favorite band on having new brilliant singer Erik 🤘🔥🤘
Ski Row is Resurrected! Erik is Amazing! Love you all, your NC fan. Come back to Greensboro NC…Please?
that new album is great , you could play the whole album as your first set . i think it would fly with the fans. scott whaz up brother

I totally agree and thought the same thing.
Sebastian already did what Erik is doing now a days over 20 years ago. He had everyone's attention.

The best replacement singer in Rock history? Maybe. Brian Johnson of AC/DC wasn't really a replacement.

No reason to ever have a reunion! Erik is so far ahead of Bach there’s no going back again!
I'm still hoping they'll release United World Rebellion part 3 so I can complete the 3 cd box set I've got.
Erik could sing in many bands, Iron Maiden, Helloween. I will listen to Skid Row from now on ;)

Todo bárbaro; lo pasado pisado. Necesitamos temas nuevos de skid row que estén a la altura de el material con Bach (no una banda tributo)
The missing piece that Scotti speaks of got fired in 1996. End of..
He's not missing, we know where he is and sadly he sounds pretty awful now and can stay where he's at.
