I love this beach! The chestnut turbans are gorgeous. I came home with over a hundred and there were still plenty there. Yes, it’s okay to take the coral pieces from any Florida beach. The long spiked star turban was my favorite find.
Your Operculum is from a moon snail. Sometimes amber-colored. Good find! Not a leafy jewel box, but probably is a corrugate jewel box. It looks like you had a really nice day.
Enjoyed your shelling trip. We go to St. Pete Beach every five years for a memorial and are always looking for something to do. I now want to check out Honeymoon Island. I also have hand tremors and your video gave me encouragement to go ahead and shell. It's a couple of hours to my closest beach from where I live in California and the shelling isn't very good or the beach is very difficult to get to for an old woman with knee and hip issues. Please keep on sharing your finds.
Oh you will love Honeymoon! And it isn't too far to walk to get to the shells! Tremors are a challenge! I plan to do a future video to address the issue because I mention it a lot and I thought maybe I should explain the condition. Thank you for watching and your kind comments❤️
@@TravelingTreasureFinder I found my first ever mermaid money. You introduced me to that. I found a handful of jingles. Lot's of the usual stuff. Saw a dolphin at sunset. Very beautiful!
First of all, thank you for videoing "my beach"! I moved to New Port Richey 4 yrs ago but shelled Honeymoon for years before that when I came to visit my sister. I walk and shell there now about 3 times a week and have quite a collection of beautiful stuff. So much so that I had to start crafting with them!😊 This is the 2nd video (watched #4 first) and you did a great job so far. I'm wondering how far up you walked?
Wow! Lucky you! I just love it there! So - I walked at least half way for most of my videos on Honeymoon. But one of them I walked all the way to the end (north). Thank you so much for commenting and have fun out there!
@@gingermackeen5741 you must have gone on an "off day".. passagrille is amazing for shells!. You gotta go from the bay side (dog beach side) an work your way around to the jetty side.. join my shell group beachcombing buddy finder to see what everyone finds!
oh gosh - I don’t live there but I think you can probably find shells year round! The best time for shells in general are after storms and when there are extreme tides at the full moon! good luck! 🐚🌊
Awesome! I'd never heard of this island before. I just gotta ask how is shelling on your back and knees, etc. I'm no spring chicken and I have so many bad body parts that I worry that I would be unable to do what you do (certainly going on shell tours is out if the question because I can't get in & out of the boats). Thanks!
Oh wow Kimberly! Some days are harder than others. My knees are good, but my back does get sore sometimes, I have seen shellers out there with tools to help pick things up without bending over - gotta do what you gotta do, right! This day wasn't too bad, but in a future video I walk 3 miles to to tip of the island and back and I have to say I was pretty sore!🤣🤣Thanks for watching and coming along!

Isn't it great - I love it too! Thanks for the tip about coral!😊👏🏻

Awesome, thank you for the information! 😊👏🏻Yes, I do love it there!
Great information on what to bring with you! Thank you for showing us around.
My pleasure! Thank you for coming along!😊
Great video, never been to honeymoon island but will add it to my list and go there soon. Judy ,Boca
Terrific! Be sure to go at low tide for the best shells!😊 have fun!

We just returned from this area yesterday. I got to shell honeymoon island a few times in the past week. Absolutely beautiful!
Oh I am jealous! I love it so much there - what treasures did you find? 😊

@@TravelingTreasureFinderit’s actually my local beach too
If you've never been to passagrille it's much better shelling than honeymoon in my opinion 🤗
Oh, I haven't been there! I will add it to my list for next year! Thank you!
Not in my opinion and the parking fees are ridiculous.

What is the best month to go to find the best shells

Any fossil coral locations?
I used to find coral fossils in the southern end of the island - more rocks there, less sand!
