@improviseddiy have you tried the baking soda wrapped up in aluminum foil trick, noticed over time watching your content, that you get alot of inclusions in your castings, seen multiple people use this trick, and it really seems to help, thinking 🤔 they used 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda wrapped up in a piece of aluminum foil, and it seems to get rid of 85-95% of those little pin holes and larger ones too, they put packet in crusible just before pouring, but becareful cause it will bubble up and push air out as you sir packet in there, hope it helps!

@@honeycuttracing On sacrificial parts like these, I am not worried about esthetics. I have done melts with baking soda. I am using soda cans as my main source of Alu and it is by nature full of impurities. If need to purify the Alu, I melt it down twice. What I have learned is that Alu will start absorbing gas when it's too hot or heated too long. Melting cans takes long and introduces a lot of gas. After a second melt it releases most of the gas and dross. Thank you for your support!
