      Isn't the m11a1 a sig 228 or atleast when it was first adopted by the military it was a 228 but then again since the 228 is discontinued and replaced by the 229 cus they're the exact same pistol just when first introduced 228 was in 9 and 229 was 40 and 357 sig and instead of the stamped slide like the 228 the 229 is milled slide I guess they're all a 229 now and makes what I said irrelevant

      I have never liked a DA/SA combo gun. I skipped that version and went directly to the SAO 9mm. I’m also in the initial process of making some changes to it before I send the 1st rnd. downrange with it. Installing Ambidextrous “gas” pedals. Doesn’t make sense to install only one. If it hangs on the holster I’ll cut the holster to confirm or I’ll just make one that works with 2 pedals. This is going to be my “lifetime” gun. Much more but too much for here. Email me if you’d like to know more. BUY ONE WHILE YOU STILL CAN!! Their screwing us on the mag size and they are starting to dry up alreardy!!! New model coming out soon!!!

      @@richardj3715 I recently took the pistol to a three day training class in Arizona. I was using blemished Sig Sauer 365 practice ammo. On the second day, I started to experience soft hammer strikes on the primers. As part of the trigger job with the Sig Armor, in order to reduce the amount of tension required to pull the trigger back in DA action, the factory 24 pound hammer spring was replaced with an 18 pound hammer spring. I took the gun in to the on-site armorer at the training center he replaced the 18 pound with a factory 24 pound hammer spring. This seems to have alleviated the problem and I believe that due to the other work that the Sig armorer did in the trigger job, there was no noticeable difference in the way that that trigger pull functioned after that 24 pound spring was re-introduced to the hammer strut. The fact that I was using blemished ammunition may have contributed to the problem. Even though this hiccup occurred, I still stand behind the work that the Sig Armor performed on all three of my pistols, all Sig Sauer legions, one P229, one P220 in 45 and another P220 in 10 mm.

    I’ve had my P229 Legion RPX for a couple of years and it’s my favorite pistol. Very comfortable and easy to shot tight groups. Intuitive layout with a very smooth trigger pull. The grips fit my hand very well and provide a natural target acquisition. As a 1911 National Match fan and that being my regular tack driver at the range this pistol is every bit as satisfying to challenge myself to make those Ballantine beer groupings. I did get the recommended ISW holster and find it awkward and uncomfortable. Recently I swapped out the trigger for the straight version and that took the pistol to another level. It made the trigger pull even more consistent. I highly recommend the Sig Sauer P229 Legion and if I had to own just one pistol this would be it!

    Excellent gun, and it’s my carry gun. I have the P226 Legion SAO with Romeo, this P229, a regular P229 Legion DA/SA, a P226 DA/SA and they are all tack drivers, particularly with a Sig Armorer trigger job. Today at the range I put 50 rounds into a 2” circle at 25 yards with the P229 Legion RX. It’s not snappy as some have said. The 365 is snappy. And for those who talk “high bore axis” I’d suggest you watch The Humble Marksman’s research into bore axis. I have both an inside and outside the waistband holster for my 229s. The Legions are excellent guns, though I have to admit that the slide to frame fit is disappointing if compared to either my Nighthawk or even Springfield TRP. The Sig Armorer’s suggestion was to buy a West German Sig or use grease in your slide. Best Regards gentleman.

      That bore axis complaint is garbage. I shoot better with my 226 legion than my shadow systems MR920 and my beretta 92x. The way the weight of the gun works with the smooth action and trigger of these guns is well worth the price. Im getting the 229 legion as soon as I am able to distract the wife.

    Very good review video as always. One of the main reasons I have subscribed all these years. I still can't get my head around a Red Dot on a defensive handgun. I know this comment may create some negative comments. For me, a handgun is a defensive weapon for 7-10 yards and I cannot see why a Red Dot is an advantage at these close ranges. At least better than iron sights. But that's just my opinion. It would seem that Red Dots are better suited for AR platforms and at longer range shooting. Maybe I am wrong, but just something I am grappling with. Thank you for always providing great review videos...

    • @marksd5650
      @marksd5650 2 года назад +1

      The Humble Marksman just reviewed a new Sig Sauer model that doesn’t come with iron sights. It’s shipped with a red dot only, and he speculates that it’s the way guns will be sold in the coming years. My first red dot was this summer when I bought a new P226 SAO Legion with Romeo. I also bought a Nighthawk Shadowhawk with Trijicon RMR last summer. I don’t even look at the sights on either of those guns, and at the range my round hits exactly where I aim the red dot. I don’t see why a red dot would be a liability. And at least with the Romeo sights, the dot comes on when the gun detects movement. So while I have little experience with red dots, I like them, and have one on my 229 carry gun. I’m very accurate at 7-10 yards. Anyway, best Regards

A Sig Sauer P229 Legion, Single Action Only, Semi-automatic, 9MM, 3.9" Barrel, Legion Gray, Black G10 Grips, XRAY3 Day/Night Sights, Optic Ready, Manual Thumb Safety, 10 Rounds 😁😊👍(B/c I'm in MD 😡) To nice NOT to have 1. I have a P320 3.6 barrel with the Romeo 1 Pro on top. I've only had it 4 months, I've ran just 50 rounds through it. However, the arrows on the adjustment for the red dot, has already semi worn off 🤬😡🤷‍♂ So when I do purchase a Legion, I'll go w/o the Romeo 1 pro. Still love my P320's feel, and shooting. The Legion premium is not outrageous. The SRT is a must on any P-series, $50. Unless you’re in love with the E2 form factor, Sig basic,grips are nothing special and Houge’s are $100+. A Gray trigger is $75 (may or may not be worth it). Then there’s cerekote (if you like it) and better sights (though the regular SigLights are really good). The base models also don’t have the trigger undercut which, I think is meaningful. Legion negatives? If you want something more personalized, start with a more basic model. Also the Legion marketing is cheezy at best.

    Too bad it is an anemic 9 mm rather than a real serious 357 Sig. But it is a shame Sig quit making that caliber.

    I Love SIGS but I don't know why They keep putting those long beaver tails on their pistols. The shorter beaver tails work perfectly like the E2 P226 has and Don't stick way out like that one. Still great guns.
