i have the same i have dell optiplex 360 my dad buy it in 2007 with intel cpu and 1 gb of ram and 160 gb hdd and a gpu with 512 mb today iam still ysing this pc i love him and i wish to buy a high end pc

I had the same pc if you install 4Gb Ram and Linux or newer version of microsoft edge it will play 1080p without graphics card

Planning on upgrading mine soon. What is the most modern motherboard that is compatable with this case?
im pretty sure any mini-itx motherboard will work
ok i measured the motherboard in my OptiPlex 360, same as in this video, its 10.4~ inches by 9.4~ inches. this case should fit a mATX motherboard, maybe some slight modifications but most stand offs would line up enough for the motherboard to be secured in. One thing i will warn you about is the hard drive bay may block some larger gpu's so you would need to modify or remove the hard drive bay for one to fit. there is a hard drive bay below the dvd drive bay though, so its not that big of a deal. hope this help and that im not to late and you've already given up :P
Hey man, I have the same PC with Q9400, 4GB RAM, 500GB of HDD with no graphics card. Is this good for lite gaming or should I just use this as a NAS server? If yes (pertaining to the latter), do you have any tips to make this as a NAS server?
I'd look for a GPU to be able to help with graphics performance, as well as an SSD, if you are planning on gaming.
If you want to use it as a storage server you can go simple and do a file share with Windows, but if you want to get better efficiency and plan to add more drives then installing something like TrueNAS is a good idea. You won't have the same power efficiency as a dedicated NAS but if just looking to work with what you have it will do the job

Probably yes. Something like a GTX 1060 or older will work fine, so an AIT/AMD from the same period should be fine

Core 2 Quad processor about $15
8GB of DDR2 about $20
SSD $20-40
Should not cost more than 50-75 to max out, less if you look for deals

@@250taz I thought there was a BIOS update that opened up support for 4GB DIMMs but I could be wrong
@@retropcdurham so updating the bios can unlock 8 GIGs Ram support? I'll just stick with 2x2 and ssd drive for now. Not sure it quare core process can be supported even
@@250taz Q6600 or Q6700 is the best for the Intel G31 Express
Hey, I’m planning on turning this into a gaming pc. If I swap out the power supply to 450w, swap the graphics card and processor, can I keep the original connector cables?
Sure, the other cables should be fine with the other devices cables; your replacement PSU will have it's own power connectors

Great video I got the same model Optiplex 360 refurbished and I am thing of a small upgrade using an old Radeon ATI 1950xtpro graphics card it has 2MB of memory or getting a 1030 or 1050 card. And the computer comes with 4MB of RAM ddr2. Do you have any advice on my plan upgrades?
SSD and if you can get a good deal on a GPU always helps
@@retropcdurham I did replace the 350MB harddrive that it came with for a 1TB harddrive from Seagate.

Yes you can! Go for a quadcore for sure, like a Q9400
I want to upgrade it to core i3 can I?
@@sadaqatali910 no the Core i series is a different socket type, you are limited ot Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad processorsin the LGA775 socket type.
