the devil's backbone is one of the first dvds i owned. it's an earlier guillermo del toro spooky tale and if you like the guy's work, you'll have a good time. his "cabinet of curiousities" is up on netflix and also worth a watch; especially if you like lovecraftian horror. black sails started out promising as a gritty treasure island prequel show that lost steam half way. also it's more sexy elements, which were probably inspired by game of thornes, seemed very goofy at times. i remember an episode where a virus was going arround at the brothel and so only oral was allowed. and some old guy was standing there throwing a temper tantrum that he want's to bone. cracked me up. don't forget to wrap some of the new ones so you can surprise-gift them to yourself.
