Hope y’all love the new car/project. I’ve already gotten so much done on this car in the first couple of days of ownership! Be sure to follow me on Instagram (@Auto.Autopsy) for more up-to-date content 😁
Dude I have a project 9-5 that I'm going much more insane with, you should check my channel. If you want to send this car some place where it'll get love let me know we can come up with something.
you probably dont care but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all the new movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my gf for the last couple of days =)
@River Gus Definitely, I have been watching on instaflixxer for years myself =)
@River Gus yup, have been watching on instaflixxer for months myself :)
@River Gus Yup, been watching on InstaFlixxer for since november myself =)
So happy for you! 9-5 content is very rare so thanks for making these vids. lovely car and colour!
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks
This is a rare and unique Saab. Look forward to seeing the restoration!
Thank you!!
Very happy for you. This will be an exciting project. I picked up a 2005 Saab 9-5, 2.3T for a $100 a couple years ago. Had a blast restoring it.
Right on!
YESSS I have the same year 9-5! Looking forward to future videos!
Awesome :)
Wow, I have never seen the 9-5 dash's do that before.
Me neither. Really strange
@@AutoAutopsy I honestly think its moisture damage from having the sunroof leak that these are known for.
Staying tuned into this one! I have a few videos on my channel fixing minor issues on my '07 9-5 - hopefully some of them can be useful to you!
Thanks! I will probably be referencing them at one point or another 😂👍🏼
Awesome find. Definitely a car worth saving. Excellent color combination this is the rarest 9-5 exterior color. Once you start dailying this baby you won’t want to go back to your 9-3!
lol we'll see about that last part! thanks :)
A Saab is still something very special even as a wreck. Good luck with it.
thanks!
Good project car. I love the b235 engines. Very original, good tune up and like you said some love will do.
Thanks 👍
Before even watching the vid... it's beautiful. I love that color green, and it's from Calif, so no rust! Many of those parts on ebay, no prob, but I dislike when ppl store stuff on those nice, clean leather seats. Oh, well, future me sees that at least they're not torn? (Nice of him to incl, the set of Michelins, though). Anyway, great to see you bringing it back to life.
Yeah, exactly. There’s some really bad creases in the back seat from it being folded with weight on it for so long 🤦🏻♂️
Sweet man, looking forward to the restoration!
Thanks 😁
Great score man! The car looks in fairly good shape and obviously got running at the end of the video, a bit of love and this wagon will surely shine!
Thanks a ton!
Looking forward to seeing this restoration. Definitely keep the original color. I'm a fellow Saab owner ('05 9.3 convertible), have been enjoying your channel & seeing what you've been doing in your videos. You've given me some good tips and ideas for improving my 9.3. Cheers!
Thank you very much 😁
Stunning color. I miss my dame wagon so much
thanks :)
Love the color and it will be a beauty once you've restored it.
Thanks Alden!
It needs some love, but glad to see a Dame getting some love. I bought an 07 Titan Gray Sportcombi a few months ago. Been getting it back to good again while DD'ing it. Keep up the good work.
thanks :)
Yesss 9-5 content. I have a 04 wagon
Awesome. We used to have an 04 wagon as well
I miss my ‘04 wagon. One of my favorite cars I’ve owned. Currently just have an ‘04 sedan.
I do like the color combination on this wagon. I may be selling my 2004 9-5 Aero wagon with under 180k miles soon.
GLWS! Sad to see it get sold :(
I bought a 9-5 Griffin a couple months ago and when i saw you got a 3rd gen 9-5 i just had to subscribe! Great content!
nice! thank you
Nice project car! I agree, would not put any $$ to modify it, just fix it up mechnically and make it a nice daily driver! I love the color, almost bought one of these a few years ago, but someone grabbed it before I had a chance to go see it!
👍🏼😁
Finally! Nice. Arbor Green is amazing.
It really is!
Sold my saab recently :( but still enjoy the content. Good luck with the new project :) can't wait to see how it looks after the work is done. Too bad it's not a manual.
Thanks
Fantastic! Congratulations, I am so happy & excited for your opportunity with this beauty! Aaaaand it’s your FAV colour! 👍🏼 Bonus! As always, appreciate how detailed you are with your vids.💖 Looking forward to the upcoming~ (and car started 😃).
As well, many thanks to the generous viewer and previous Saab owner 😉💖!
UUHHH...now I need your consult, in secret of course, to find my Turbo-X PLEASE, before I look my age 💁🏻♀️ Don’t you want to do an instrumental- informational-instructional Vid with me?!...on the “Secrets of that Car Buy...Buying Your Next Saab” 🙋🏻♀️😀
...HEY, was that my out loud voice!!!??? 🤦🏻♀️🤣🤣🤣
Dude, Congratulations 🎉👍🏼🖖🏼
thank you!! saabnet is a good place to find Turbo X's for sale
@@AutoAutopsy The Thanks are always ours!
But of Course, thank YOU! 👍🏼😂💖 Good job on reply..diplomatic and gracious! 😉 Excellent combination in a young man! My complaints also to your adults for instilling that character 👏🏼.
Have a wonderful day ☀️
Very nice color! In 2006 there was no Aero trim, there were only 2.3T models, this one looks like a regular 2.3T from the interior, but it wouldn't hurt to run the VIN and see if it has the sport package or "sport" in the model name, because that was the Aero package for 2006.
It doesn’t have aero seats like you said, but does have paddle shifters, so idk. I’m not as familiar with 9-5 trims as I am 9-3 trims 🤔
Yes they did make that model in Aero trim in 2006!
There are several for Sale on "Autotrader .co.uk"
Perhaps just not in the US then?
@Auto Autopsy If I'm not mistaken all of the automatic 06+ 9-5s had the Saab Sentronic transmission with manual shift capability. I am almost certain it is a normal 2.3T, but it wouldn't hurt to check!
@@ErikTS I have the same 2006 2.3T ARC wagon, they all have the Sentronic. The 2.3T from this model years have 220HP but the big turbo (as the Aero), so you get more or less the same HP out of it with a Stage 1 as an Aero.
I’m excited to see this baby come back to life!!!!
:)
POGGERS! I have the same year 9-5 with the same engine :D but its dark blue and kinda rusty after finnish weather and 350tkm
Nice! 🙌🏼
I love cheap saabs! nice vid
Lol! Thanks bro
Hello from Seattle nice video I got yesterday 9.5 wagon 2001 only 95 thousands miles for 2.500
What a lovely spec. Cant wait for the content on this one.
thank you!
Love the content. I own a 9-3 Sport Sedan from 2005!
nice!
Great autopsy, this patient may be in ICU for awhile, depending on heart condition....lol. Looking forward to content. I feel lonely with my 2003 9-5 3.0t arc.
Lol! “Invest” in another Saab 🤔😂
Its a beautiful car design and I agree about the color. Have fun!
Thanks!
The 2010 second-gen Saab 9-5 looks absolutely amazing, but the sad thing is that is so underrated and kinda rare to see in the wild.
yeah :((( agreed
Awesome new toy! Would love to grab one of those wagons.
The 2.3 is Very punchy. Such a different engine, more jumpy and not as refined feel vs the ecotec NG version, more of a hotrod-ish 4. Plus it has the coolest version of saab rims imho. Throw em on your ARC and you'll see what I mean. Very classy. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Nah they would look bad on a NG 9-3. They’re good wheels don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think they fit a 9-3. Plus, I love the wheels I already have
@@AutoAutopsy True they are not as good as what you have on your ARC now, but I had them on my 05 ARC vert and they looked quite nice. 5mm spacers would not have hurt, but they were the same backset as a set of stock 16's on that car. They are wider than 16's and with a good set of michelins they really improved that ride and handling as well.
Your ARC rims are still my favorite tho.
Awesome looks like a fun project. I just got a 06 9-3aero SportCombi
Very cool!
I have had saabs since 1977
99gle ..owned 8
Currently 2004 9 3
Over 200000
Love it like to have another one
This one is the best ever
Nice 👍🏼
I love the color and I just noticed the big disc brakes. That car will be a class act when you get her cleaned up and back to running.
Thanks Bryan 😁
Yeah I love seeing older Saabs when saab actually made the engines I got a 2003 95 aero just a little under 300 hp
nice!
Good luck and keep on rolling!
Appreciate it!
just purchased a 9.5 vector sport 1.9Tid automatic wagon . one owner with lowish miles
also have a 9.3 aero vert and a 1997 ng900 2.3 ...have had three 900/9.3s before
Nice 👍🏼
Looks like a really rare car, Looks like a Vector but still has the like 1999 seats (the design), but in Beige leather 🧐 and it is a non aero/griffin but still has the Crome exhaust tip... And a rare color (first thought it was an pepper green) Cool car!!
Thank you! We didn’t have the “vector” trim here in the US, at least not for 2006
I had a blue 2006 once, such a great car. Looking forward to see how you fix it. Good luck from Sweden.
Nice! Thank you :)
Nice make the engine rebuild and tune up the turbo nice model, regards 🇬🇷 from greece
thanks
I’m new in the car scene and I really want a saab so I hope I will learn how saab’s work so I can get my own to preserve them lol
Nice, there’s a lot of good resources out there that can help you learn to repair them!
Man, I got you beat!... 2006 9-5 running (needed vacuum lines for smooth ride home) for $150
nice
That's a solid 3 day Interior Detail
We were able to get it all done in one long day. You’ll see in a week or two when it gets uploaded 😁
@@AutoAutopsy I know....Mike @ Full Right Detailing called me and told me.
I just bought an 06 SAAB 93 wagon 5 speed manual 101k for 1100$ im so excited but also going to have to put her in storage for a bit cause I have 3 other vehicles also
lol same boat as me!
Very nice :) i love this model reminds me of mine i had but silver :)
Thanks :)
Very exciting! Looking forward to this! Awesome color 👍
Thanks!
Oooh I do like that colour definitely be looking out for one in the U.K. 🇬🇧 if any made it to the U.K. 🇬🇧
thank you!
Straight to the oil pan and replace those o-rings. Trust me. They are trashed and killing oil pressure. Plus you get a nice idea of how she was treated by looking in there.
What o-rings?
@@AutoAutopsy In the oil pan there is an o-ring between the pan and the oil pump pickup tube. There is also a pipe inside the oil galley, right above the pan, from the rear of the block to the front of the block, that transfers oil into the oil filter assembly. That tube has an o-ring on each end. The heat and petroleum environment caused them to swell and get brittle and lose their seal, causing pressure loss at those spots. I went from 10psi to 20psi at warm idle, just by replacing those 3 o-rings. While you are there you can also clean out the pan and the pickup screen, which can clog. If the oil was not taken care of, you will have a sludge mess to clean out of there as well. Check out Kyle Pancis' videos about it. They tipped me off to check mine.
Nice project, looking forward to future video's. Love this channel. :-) thanks, Vinny. :-)
Thanks man!
I'm jealous. Nice steal!
Thanks!
Somebody in my Virginia SAAB group Johnathan SAAB, got his 9-5 Aero for $1 & brought his trailer.
Nice, unfortunately I don’t have a trailer and a uhaul was the same price as just shipping it
Thats a good looking wagon. The first 9-5 I ever tried to buy was this color. Btw the facelifts dont have a winter mode button.
They don’t? Very weird...okay. Good to know lol
@@AutoAutopsy There should be a blank button there. My guess is they did without since the all autos have sentronic shift. Cost cutting/ leave it up to the driver.
Gotcha. Guess I’ll have to dig into it some more
My dad still drives a 2006 9-5, its a great car. The motor is fun to drive, but sadly no manual
Nice! Nothing wrong with auto
Love your projects.
Considering you're the perhaps biggest Saab tuber, I wonder if you've considered making a somewhat more elaborate build.
I myself dream of one day taking a MKI Saab 9-3 coupé and make it RWD... Maybe even make it an RWD EV. Thing is, I'm not very experienced with builds and fear that I'll just take a nice Saab, hack it to pieces, get stuck and be forced to scrap it.
But perhaps you'd be more capable? And if you'd show how it's done, I might be able to copycat you :P
haha, i unfortunately do not have the technical skill or time for that unfortunately :/
@@AutoAutopsy Haha, I understand. It's just a crazy idea. I love your work.
@@jakobholgersson4400 thank you for the support! i'd love to, but i just am not capable :((
If you're lucky and its the 2.3T you might already have 260BHP same as the Aero
If its that spec it is a 155MPH car
A Stage1 will get you up close to 300BHP.
Yes, all 2006’s came with 260hp.
Good Luck!
👍🏼👍🏼
Good luck!
Thanks!
Wow! Love the color
Thank you! Cheers!
I have two direct ignition cassettes from my 06 as spares if in need!!
thanks!
Nice wagon
I have a Saab 9-5 2004 mod (150HP petrol turbo) with the same color (In Norway)
arbor green was only available in 2006 though!
I have a stage 3 2001 9-3 with 150k on the clock to get rid of. Only catch is i blew up the clutch 4 months ago.
rip!
Maybe try blacking out the front chrome with PlastiDip or whatever? Might look clean and contrast nicely with the green paint, looking forward to more 9-5 content!
I’ve thought about it already haha. Maybe!
That's ugly af and screams ricer. The chrome fits the styling very well. There's no problem with it, you just don't like it and that's your thing. Instead paint the chrome maybe grey matte or something similar to the original trim
Love the wheels on the later wagons.
Me too 👍🏼
On whole it seems to be in okay condition. Just needs some love. Luckily spares for Saab aren't that expensive.
yep
Heavens to Murgatroyd. How can a 2006 SAAB be so trashed? Well anyways, keep saving the SAAB's Dude! Even if they are Station Wagons..
Yaaay! It started!!
Thanks! Lol
I have a 9-5 Sedan and want a wagon so bad
Can you show us how to fix the speedo as it seems to be a common problem with saabs . I love my93 convertible but the speedo is intermittent. Many thanks brilliant videos!
I haven’t heard of that being a common problem tbh. I would search some forums or post on FB groups to seek advice
the best are the rims and the color..... the rest is a lot of work and money.... good luck
it's a "project car" for a reason lol
Great color!! Hope you make it runt...
it is already, see my last upload :)
@@AutoAutopsy yes!
Good grief that looks damn good
thanks :)
It cost you $1k to ship from CA to AZ? That sounds really high. I hope it was nocal!
Car was non-running. That’s why. It’s from Northern Cali.
@@AutoAutopsy W/those winter tires, must be from Tahoe/Sierras? Still, no roadsalt/rust!
FYI.....
Mile High Autobody(Saab) will be closing its doors forever. After 50+ years Jerry Danner is closing this SAAB Institution. Uf you are needing anything contact Jerry or his daughter Michelle. You guyz would love to rummage through the salvage yard and parts trailers....SAAB On!!!
Oh jeez! That’s so sad. Where is he located?
@@AutoAutopsy Denver Colorado...
5th/Lipan....great oppty to pick up parts n decent salvage vehicles for your "Save a Saab"!!!
Well, it's a good start...
For sure
I think this car deserves an SP built 235!
You drive a hard bargain...
Nice car to drive
I love Wagons ! were do you get parts for these? were the 2006 and above still owned by Saab Or Sub contracted to China as most everything else produced? Sharp/Solid Looking/ Nice lines....
esaabparts is where i get just about everything from. 2000 is the year GM acquired full ownership of saab
any plans for a manual swap??? would love to see a video around that
not currently
Did you buy a home yet? Be sure to look for a big garage. Nice car!
unfortunately not; housing market is crazy where i live :(
Get a Stage 5 tune, fully send it to the moon!
😂🥴
NO WINTER BUTTON after 2005...its just a dummy plug that goes in there
thanks for the heads up!
$1000 to deliver a car 1 state over...thats crazy.... im sure you could have cut that in half or maybe 750 anyway.... you gotta shop around
i had it posted for a week with multiple listings. It was a 15 hour drive, and the fact the car was non running is exactly why it cost so much. trust me, i did my research!
Actually don’t know anything about these new gen 9-5’s ready for some 9-5 content 👍
This is still an “OG” 9-5 technically. Thanks! 😁
I got a 9-5 aero running and it's cheaper than that 2003 120000 you not lucky they discontinued saab 1300 is the price I paid 2.3 by the way !!
nice
I like it!!
Thanks!
Nice car. How many miles on it?
145k. Forgot to mention that 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
amazing
Thanks :)
well, it is the exact aero motor.
yeah, same power output and identical mechanically
in before "nOt A mAnUaL" comments
MTs are unfortunately all too rare, so glad I chose my 5-spd 9-3 way back when. What are your thoughts on Saab ATs, are they reliable?
@Jx Po Wow, I didn't know that. Aisin and Toyota/Lexus, this makes Scotty K happy. 🤣
Yep! Most saab automatics are pretty reliable when well maintained 👍🏼😁
I have 9000 1992 manual
Don't know if you would have an answer for this or not but I picked up a 2008 9-3 2.0T last month. Put in the bsr intake after like a week of owning it and its been fine but a few days ago it started sputtering once I was halfway or so down on the throttle. Im thinking it could be a coil pack but not sure. Took it to the closest Saab shop near me and their diagnostic machine couldn't find the issue so the guy basically told me to go somewhere else. The car has almost 150k miles so I assume they were probably never changed before. Have you ever seen an issue like this?
what saab shop couldn't diagnose a misfire??? Jeez...
Yeah, it's probably plugs or coils, assuming what you're describing is a misfire
@@AutoAutopsy yeah right. The guy apparently was a saab and volvo repairman. He said he check the sparkplugs and that wasnt the issue so In assuming its a bad coil pack. Place I went to was called Peabody Auto Care in peabody Massachusetts. Have an appt for a different place now scheduled for next wednesday to get it looked at and hopefully actually diagnosed.
Looks nice..but this could cost big $$ be prepared.
it's a "project" for a reason
Does anyone know of a good way to secure the fender when the tab that should receive the screw is broken off like this one is? I have the same issue. So the wheel well edge of the fender keeps sticking out a bit.
use some universal mounting brackets (zip ties)
What happened to the red saab ???? ... I wonder what part in california because I'm in california... It's like Saabaru...
Northern California
Going to steal the term “Saabaru” . I have a 2004 base outback with over 250k miles that is reliable and fun to drive.
Manual swap it?
Unless the trans decides to blow, not planning on it lol
Nice. 🙌🙏🙌
🙌
