Nice initial draft. I’m going with Haaland (Isak, João Pedro) and without Watkins, Salah, and Foden. Trent and Saliba with three 4.5m defenders, and a slew of 6.5m-7.5m midfielders. You were by far the best FPL content creator last season (besides FPL Tips 🐐) and think your channel will grow exponentially this season. Also, congrats on Spain winning the Euros.
Thank you M4NA! Really appreciate the love. I think what's nice about pricing is I can see arguments for Haaland only, Salah only, and both all working. And as you say, lots of value via the 6.5-7.5 tier
Love the squad, a player that would be harder to ignore now, is Saka given he was one of the most foaled players last season and he shares set piece duties including penalties, he will be a BPS magnet that would be harder to ignore in my opinion
as I've shown in the previous video addressing rule changes, I think Palmer, Foden benefit the most out of that bracket of 4 9.5-10.5 mids. Saka next then Son, but it's all v close!
@@FPLFran Agreed, and in hindsight, as I prefer to target fixtures, Arsenal intial rounds of fixtures aren't as rosy so the picks you have are more likely to have a higher celeing potential as they have better fixtures. Hi Fran, hope you're well. Glad to see you back posting again! I'm currently looking at my first draft but missing 0.5 somewhere. I don't love Eze as a pick without seeing his output without Olise but last year that logic spoiled me of probably 40 points so I'm trying not to make that mistake again😅It's probably between Gordon and Eze atm. Anyone you prefer here?: GK: Sanchez / 4.0 Def: Trent / Gvardio / Burn / Taylor / Konsa Mid: Knkunku / Eze / Salah / Foden / Gordon Atk: Watkins / Isak / Pedro

Yo hope you are doing well. What are your thoughts on going a bit cheaper on the defense and going all in with Salah and Haaland in a draft together. I'm also thinking about potentially taking out Salah and Gordon for Foden and Palmer, i know the combined points looks like it would favour the latter option but I feel like a big part of that was because of Salah's decreased minutes last season. I also feel like Palmer overperformed and don't know if he'll hit the same numbers this season. Let me know what you think of the team, probably going to play a 343 especially if Pedro has good minutes. GK: Sanchez / Fabianski Def: Trent / Mykolenko / Burn / Harwood-Bels / Konsa Mid: Nkunku / Eze / Salah / Winks / Gordon Atk: Haaland / Isak / Pedro
Draft is v good obv subject to Pedro. Defense does feel a touch light (as does attacking depth) but that's up to you. I tend to like rotation a bit more.
Nice draft Fran. I haven't given it much thought since the season is still a few weeks away and there will be lots of pre-season games to take in, but this draft won't be too far away from the eventual non-Halaand template. Good team. I think theres a bit too much $ in the def. Cheaper def has been the move the past could of seasons and with these new BPS changes I think it'll make it even harder to get points from your defense. Plus there are so many good 4.5s AND with goalline clearance now being a thing I think that would benefit CBs more than RB/LB. I can see a general preference for attacking FB (bar lack of Trent), which is nice. Only slightly concerned with Elanga minutes but it's a good team. I'm also not sure if I rate 2x AVL defence to spend 10m on them despite their insanely good fix run but that's up to you, not bad at all.
Cho and Semenyo had similar production last season and I think one might be nailed over the other. Rogers is certainly interesting though if we think he is nailed post pre-season

I just think LIV fixtures are that good to start. Is there a draft where you could still fit Nkunku in? He still feels like a really good value play, as opposed to an 'alt' to Palmer
@@FPLFran Will definately be one to follow in preseason. I'm dabnling in non-Salah, non-Haaland draft and it is looking stroong. But then I feel I must have a nailed Lpool attacker to mitigate Salah-dmg. I also really want Madueke, but no one is talking about him. Probarbly too unsecure minutes.
Fran, still enjoying your FPL videos. I'm going without Salah. Looking at his point hauls over the years you can see his drop off... 303 pts to 212 pts. Since FPL is all about points vs cost then Palmer's 244 pts trumps Salah. The cost/return metric is the only one I really look at. I also look at the eye test. Haaland is also a no-no for me due to his cost.
Points per million isn’t how we should think imo vs how we project players to do in the future. Would you have used such a metric to identify Palmer the season before? Or even Foden?
@@FPLFran the new bps does not seem to favour defenders. Also it's proven last year with the extra time minutes clean sheets are few and far between and hard to call. Id rather pump money upfront and midfield.
Defensively Gvardiol is leaky. Ake is preferred. Gvardiol's starts became consistent when there were injuries in defense. I don't think we can be sure he starts if everyone is fit
The team was fully fit during the title charge bar stones. Whilst he might be worse defensively than Ake he provides something none of the other defenders can do on offence so it’s always a trade off. Until we see a clear system change im not inclined to think his minutes will be bad
@FPLFran I get you...but Akanji is not the best at stepping into midfield. My assumption is if John Stones is fit...he will play his role. Dias is quite nailed. And I feel in a fixture like Chelsea...you require someone a bit more solid. Especially considering Palmer might be on that side
I think I prefer Bellis for mins but there are deffo some interesting 4.0s that could play more fullback type roles for Ipswich (Ben Johnson maybe) and Southampton (Charlie Taylor as you mention)
I prefer Haaland to Salah despite the fixtures. Had to make too many compromises with Haaland+Salah so have left Salah out. Liverpool and Salah were not great towards the end of last season and are a bit of an unknown quantity with the new manager. I might move to another Liverpool attacker if a good one emerges.
only thing I'd say is the LIV fixtures do appear to be that good, so Salah is more so a value play against that. I do think with equivalent fix it's not close of course.
because the point of this FDR is it clearly weighs how strong teams are, and Man City is either the 1st or 2nd best team by quite a landslide against the field (that isn't Arsenal). A clown's FDR would have Ipswich high at any point in the season.
There is no replacement to Arsenal defence in the league in terms of quality defence, as much as there are good fixtures for NEW and AVL to start imo. Up to you though, this argument goes on close to every season

I will. I don't think anything is a must right now but we can disagree aha. Maybe set on TAA/Isak tbf
What do you think of this draft
Raya
Gvardiol Burn Mykolenko
Salah foden palmer Eze Hudson-Odoi
Isak Watkins
Turner Konsa hardwood-bellis and Ladapo
v strong tbh. I don't actually have any issues with it as long as the English players are ready to start gw1
@@FPLFran thanks for the reply mate, also followed your season last year, epic work, hope you do well again. I finished around 50k last year
Fran, still enjoying your FPL videos.
I'm not sure premium defenders is the way to go
Based on what?
@@FPLFran the new bps does not seem to favour defenders. Also it's proven last year with the extra time minutes clean sheets are few and far between and hard to call. Id rather pump money upfront and midfield.
I think Rashford could become a great pick considering his price
Remember when everyone said that last year
Man U fan ?
Noone said that,,he was 9mil last yr
@@jameshaddow2107 City actually
Ruud will turn him back into a goal machine
Konsa and Burn Good rotate fixture 😅
They do rotate strongly. Don’t mind it if you want to drop a premium def

Charlie Taylor vs Bellis?
I think I prefer Bellis for mins but there are deffo some interesting 4.0s that could play more fullback type roles for Ipswich (Ben Johnson maybe) and Southampton (Charlie Taylor as you mention)
@@FPLFran Charlie Taylor was a saviour during a few of the gws last season.😅
huge difference between draft with haaland and draft without haaland
It is indeed. I’m seeing a lot of differences regardless on drafts with the same premium structure which is great variety!
Maatsen is the go to Villa defender imo
Only issue is the additional cost spending and they haven’t shipped out the other two LBs yet.
@@FPLFran maatsen Is most definitely nailed on plus He's very attacking
How come you didn’t get haaland? With those fixtures he’s bound to score a ton
He costs too much
@@streetsiswatching9660 but what if he scores a hatrick in the first few weeks it’s a bit risky no?
I think it’s just an opportunity cost thing. I’m sure I can try build a Haaland draft but it would also equally miss out on some huge players
@@FPLFran 👍👍
@@streetsiswatching9660I knew it bru
Why Nkunku over Palmer besides price? Minutes weren’t very good last season
He was injured
Palmer all day long
You can’t really ignore price when there’s 4m difference lol
That’s like saying why Isak and not a 4.5 FWD
Because he was injured, and is a great player if playing at that price. Minutes are about context
@@FPLFran do you predict him to now be a main starter? If so probably is a better option to have more funds to build a stronger defence and bench
Are you sure Man City with Chelsea Arsenal and Newcastle in first 6 marches has second best calendar ? 🤡🤡🤡
because the point of this FDR is it clearly weighs how strong teams are, and Man City is either the 1st or 2nd best team by quite a landslide against the field (that isn't Arsenal). A clown's FDR would have Ipswich high at any point in the season.
Personally I don’t like it, too big at the back imo when so many good 4.5 mill
There is no replacement to Arsenal defence in the league in terms of quality defence, as much as there are good fixtures for NEW and AVL to start imo. Up to you though, this argument goes on close to every season
Can i know your ID in the game please? thank you .

@@FPLFran thanks a lot :)
I think Hudson odoi is better than semenyo
Absolutely fair point. From what I've read he might unfortunately be sold, but let's see. Rogers is v. interesting value too.
@@FPLFran I was thinking rogers as well as
Bowen is slept on
His fixtures aren't great
decent price but bad fixtures to start and why not Kudus for example?
You will all need Haaland in GW2 against Ipswich
the season doesn't end after he plays them though!
Fran, Morgan Rogers > Semenyo.
I will agree when I’m fully confident on his mins :P. Two goals vs Walsall won’t change my mind
@@FPLFranhe will be more nailed than Semenyo
I'll never go against haaland never
Hah, why not? It’s always about the opportunity cost in terms of other assets. Happy to make a draft with him though
Yeah 😂 ill always make room for that beast @@FPLFran
With Savio playing instead of Doku. I wont mind the 15m price
To many expensive defenders
@@davidvoskanian2025 it’s just my general playstyle. I don’t mind dropping the arsenal and going burn but we’ll see.
Man, you are spending too much on diffinders you will regret it your midfielder is week
are you speaking from experience?
@@FPLFran yes and it is up to you to accept my opinion or not
Ok I finally worked it out, you're a Chelsea fan
Very disappointing man🤮
Grow up
I’m not a Chelsea fan at all? So confused what this is about lol
Strongly disagree with this draft. 👎
do you want a medal for it?
