In late '86, they changed their winnings limit to $75,000. If Press Your Luck would have stayed on a couple of more years, I think we maybe would have maybe seen some players would have passed the limit. One of the best episodes ever.

@@foxmccloud7055 Actually, we had a contestant Falawna, from Season 3 of the Elizabeth Banks era survived 10 passed spins with three Whammies. She almost made the ultimate comeback with more spins passed to her, but that was fun to see.

Entered Round 2 with THREE Whammies, and won $33,380 in cash and prizes, thanks in large part to surviving a gauntlet that SHOULD have finished him off. Odds of hitting a Whammy are 1 in 6. If the odds held true, Michael would've Whammied Out on the 3rd-to-last spin of that 8 spin gauntlet.

Not only did Michael avoid the Whammy on all those 8 spins, he never earned a single spin until the last one. You think he would earn more than just 1 spin with all the spins that were passed to him.

That was the third highest one day total in the show's history, behind $33,410 in a 1984 episode and Larsen, unless something happened in SUmmer 1986 that is unknown.. $35K was lost to a Whammy in SUmmer 1986.
June 1986 to be exact, when that $35,000 loss happened. It is now known that Trish, the woman who suffered that loss, returned in June 1986; her original run was in December 1985. The interesting thing is that the photos on Getty Images seemed to indicate that Trish actually returned for two days, and not one as initially thought. One image has only her name displayed in position #3, and another has Jo Goodlo as one of her opponents with Trish in position #1.
