Great Guide turtle, one thing you missed is the whitespring restaurant near the french cooking lady where all you gotta do is sit down in a chair and a robot comes that also sells tasty stews , deathclaw wellingtons and cranberry meatball grinder just like yasmin, worth the free fasttravel it also sells the herbivore stuff, so a good farming route is to have a camp down with yasmin, swap to grandma, then visit nuka world (free to fast travel, buy bettys food, like gulper stuffed foot (strenght 1 hour) rad roach / scorpion on a stick (agi 1 hour) radscorpion kebabs energy resist 1 hour , yao guai pastry (carry weight) 1 hour, then whitespring (free fast travel) and shop there, hop servers > repeat
I didn't know this! I tried but nothing happened! Should I sit at a table inside the restaurant, at the table right outside or on the opposite side of the corridor?
@mickbohannon1104 inside next to thr French cooking lady occasionally it bugs out and a robot comes to you but doesnt open a tradewindow happens rarely but does happen
@@illusion- you're fantastic! Thx, prolly was a bug! Merry santatron day!
@@mickbohannon1104 to you aswel may you fill up that cryo fridge in no time and sign a petition so we can put our foods in cans so it no longer spoils and becomes tradeable
@@illusion- that would b a friggin dream!
you can still have tea as carnivore too, including company tea and sweet mutfruit tea at normal effect
Hard Lemonade stacks with Company Tea for an additional 10% ap refresh. It lasts 10 minutes and doesn't spoil.
You can place the ally camp item on a trap, then activate it so you can remove the camp item and ally. This makes it so you don't have to wait for them if they're using the camp item.
Thank you Turtle. My melee girl uses some buffs. One thing I noticed the somewhat useless Mystery candy that weighs so much and can’t be vendored I had started to use. It gives a varied short (6-8 mins) buff as you know. I had used mole rat chunks for the +2 strength and after taking a candy providing strength it wiped the mole rat buff out. So I thought you’d like to know in case it happened to a higher value strength buff. I dumped the candy.
My staple go to's, where I don't have to go searching for the ingredients is More Rat chunks (+str) and Grilled Radstag(+CW)
@@elfpimp1 exactly. I like using the meat I get from just playing the game. That said 🐢’s info is always useful to have.
Good point!
I didn’t know they changed recipes till I got the Sell a mutant hound chop daily. Didn’t realize till I was at the Whitesprings that one piece of meat was no longer enough. 😅
Hey AT you mentioned about your not losing your buffs when server hopping, I lose my buffs everytime I move from fallout 1st to adventure and back as well as losing any bobblehead I may have equipped, this has been happening for a long time now. I will correct myself I dont always lose the buffs but the time to use them drops rapidly for example I may have a meat buff just consumed with a time limit of 60 mins but when I swap servers it drops down to 10 mins so I have to constantly keep eating, still lose my bobbleheads though
Ive done carni for the carry weight mainly, i loot alot of stuff.
I recently changed my full health to herbivore for the extra critical damage. I've been using a vampire+crit damage combat shotgun paired with the overkill. For bosses I switch to the endangerol syringer and cold shoulder.
Yes, I'm now tempted to configure one of my two highest level characters as a Melee/Heavy Guns build now that you've shown me these buffs. Thanks for the awesome content as usual, Turtle!
I actually found 6 peppers at the Whitesprings clubhouse a few times. Just check every table.
Great video, Turtle. I'm kind of tempted to try ... wait for it ... a tanky carnivore junkies commando build. The tankiness, agility and ap buffs here look fun to play around with.
You convinced me to dust off my melee character. Used to be such a monster, maybe he will be again.
My full health melee build is pretty lazy / badly optimized, and I'm still smacking the SBQ for ~950 damage on my best hits, at level 100. More important, I stay in the fight and dish that out over and over and over.
I've been using carnivore even when herbivore probably would've been better overall. Herbivore just doesn't have the carry weight buffs i need. My main carnivore buffs are radroach or scorpion on a stick, yao guai pastry and deathclaw wellington when i can get the ingredients, or gulper stuffed foot when i can't. I also use seared venison with berries for my bow build to crit every other shot. Maybe i will experiment with other food buffs, but i don't like to spend a lot of time cooking and ingredient gathering lol
The only issue i have with carnivore buff is Broiled Scorchbeast Brain. It only last 30 mins. The brain bombs for herbivore lasts 90 mins.
and what are the ingredients for each recipe? that's why. THREE SUGAR BOMBS?!?! that needs to be changed. one maybe two sugar bombs per recipe.
When I ran carnivore I was using a lot more 30 minute buffs than that, and yeah, it gets real tiresome. That's one of the hidden features of the new "Tasty X" melee buffs - they last an honest hour, without needing to re-up 4 of the buffs halfway through.
@@lordhowithurtzThere is this sugar bombs run on youtube check it out and you wil never run out on sugar nombs thank me later..👍🏽
Great video Turtle! It’s convinced me to give Carnivore a try. Thank you for all you do!
Just since you're talking about food, I was curious if they removed the black blood leaf from the camp flower generator. I still have 4 of them in my camp freezer from that generator but it hasn't produced any more of them in probably about a month or so.
I'll wager on them coming with the map expansion along with recipes that actually use them.
I hope Alcohol is next for a buff, at least with duration- like Nukadark should be 60 minutes will all the perks
60 minutes of +18 luck from a consumable would be a whole new meta.
They may have the highest theoretical dps but if can't hit anything, it rounds down to 0.
For any melee build, heck yeah, carnivore all the way! Any of my vats critical builds I'm still sticking with herbivore for those oh so sweet critical damage buffs 😊
Edit: farming blight (for me anyway) is quite a bit easier than farming large amounts of meat/starlight berries etc.
Just suppress carnivore get all the great buffs for everything else and use steeped thistle tea and blight soup
I tried listening to this while working and had to restart it like 5 times because I kept getting lost. Very useful info!
Almost convinced me, but at the end of the day I like just being able to go pick my plants when I need them knowing they will be there every time. And I don’t want to lose my critical damage. Maybe on day though
Cranberry Meatball Grinder goes away after death. I made my melee alt into a Carnivore and after doing a Scorched Earth I had a bunch of SB meat so I grabbed some cranberries and made the Grinder. While I was eating a bunch of other things (including the Grinder) I just died for no reason (I've seen this before, you just drop dead after eating something). All my other buffs appeared to be fine, but the Grinder was gone. Ate the other Grinder and a bit later died again. Grinder not in effects list again.
It didn't disapear when I died as I tried that, what platform?
This video came in at the perfect time for the double xp weekend. Thanks again AT.
I was running a Carnivore build for most of this year, and recently went vegetarian. This obviously was influenced by moving away from melee, but the final incentive was the Company Tea generator - it is so much stronger for herbivores.
I do think the video goes a bit far (afaik you can sustain using Backwoodsman) but people do tend to sleep on Carnivore for the benefits to tanking, carry weight, and the stat buffs. Luck is an interesting one - it was a stretch, but I was able to make 33 luck without using Unyielding Armor, or to drop two unyielding pieces from a typical "crit spam" build. Is it worth it? No, I'm pretty happy with Vegetarianism. I'm using fewer buffs at longer intervals and still just about as effective.
When I play games, I always look for simplest solution. I really don't want to keep up 10 different foodbuffs or go into build mode and respawn vendors etc. It's just not my playstyle. I think 1 foodbuff in game you have to refresh every hour or something, is already a burden.
I really appreciate your thumbnail actually being the real values you get, not some 99999% nonsense that's saturating videos currently.
Save a brahmin, eat a super mutant.
Cannibal gang rise up.
What buffs does eating a super mutant give you? It sounds hilarious and awesome already.
Pepperoni roll is much better carry cap buffer than any other options. You can buy it for dirt cheap price from NPC vendor and hop server to buy more. When I used to play 76, I used to pile up 1 week worth of pepperoni rolls once a week by grinding for 10 minute.
I'm full health herbivore melee, & 1 punching muties in West Tek is enough for me, anything past that is overkill, plus I don't need to run around searching for meat.
I've always been a carnivore. The carryweight advantages are too good to pass up.
How much carry weight do you need
@@glupshitto1977 as Turtle said in the video, I find about 400-500lbs is the sweet spot. The thing is, with the 75 carry weight and 8 str from meat you don't really need any other sources of carry weight buffs to get there. No deep pockets and no high capacity mod for your backpack, drugs are still an option, but not necessary, opening the window to use your mentats strategically, rather than by necessity.
Don't misunderstand, what's best totally depends on your preferred playstyle. Getting my carry weight from food fits mine.
Meh, herbivore gives you that fantastic xp buffs and some carry weight buffs. Herbivore is actually easier to get the ingredients you need for the great buffs.
@@jvazacas there's truth to that, but if you know how to build a character and put together a half decent set of gear, xp is meaningless.
I’m carnivore because the ladies dig the melee
I always make my Ally’s item face a wall so they just stare at it and can’t use it
I’m restocking my freezer as I use my herbivore xp buffs with tasty mutant hound stew from xp runs in west tek
Thanks, Turtle. So for XP farming Westek - without the team tagging method - is carnivore a significant advantage now? And would Backwoodsman 6 be better than Live and Love for XP farming as an herbivore?
They are functionally identical. Carnivore was lagging without Backwoods boosting meat dishes, but is now on equal footing XP wise.
I'll never understand why everyone thinks that The Deep is good for getting starlight berries. The only places anyone every talks about for farming them are The Deep and the area between Gauley Mine Exit and the unnamed house just past Slocum's Joe.
The Deep is just plain trash for farming starlight berries with only 18 plants in total, plus the enemies and extra load screen. The run from Slocum's Joe to Gauley Mine Exit is decent, but it's a huge area to cover, and I think the best I've ever gotten is around 100.
Down around Charleston Station you can grab about 120 and it's a pretty small area to run comparatively. And if you venture over around Poseidon Power Plant, between there and the Nuka Cola Factory, there are a bunch as well.
Also, the last area I mentioned, they grow as vines at the base of trees, and each vine can be picked 3 times, instead of just one time like with the single plants.
Does the melee damage buff work with throwing knives?
I don't know if i am doing something wrong, but i have carnivore, no buffs and when i eat a Deathclaw wellington, it doesn't give any health at all.
All i see it +7.5 str and some rad resist, but my health (alltho bloodied) doesn't increase at all. I'm starting to believe that some of these
foods were nerfed.
Also... that food that increases melee damage by 350% ... GL making it.. it requires SO much sheepsquatch meat it's not even funny.
And applying these buffs requires a very specific order or they will cancel eachother out , or so i've been told.
Currently i'm stuck with Glowing meat with +100% melee dmg and +90 health.
Wow it really is buffed up if you use the right mutations & buffs
I have been slaying with melee since the update. About damn time melee got some love
Hmmm really tempted to become carnivore.
But am already herbivore and got some other mutations as well.
Is there a way to remove the herbivore and become carnivore, or are the mutations removed randomly by using radaway?
Can you make a new melee video with power armor vs no power armor, super sledge vs normal sledge (all modded of course), the new lightning mods for those and whatever also should be included?
that'll be awesome! 😊
Wish this video had included best perks to use etc, but otherwise fantastic video thanks.
This makes sense.
Of course right after I change back to herbivore for the xp weekend 😂
Is there a plan for grandma ally like yasmine?
Can you get yasmin from Samuel at foundation or do I have to wait for atom shop
Yes, you can get her from Samuel
I went Carnivore yesterday and this has just confirmed i made the right decision!
I’m not a min maxer so being able to eat a bunch of random meat I find in my inventory and drink some water that I somehow keep getting makes keeping full really easy.
Then a grilled radstag and company tea thanks to my camp and I’ve got bonus carry weight and ap regen.
Yet I’m told herbivore is better? Yeah right.
It depends on your build dont be a fool..
@@-db4rf Not even remotely
@@spacequack5470 Come to point..
@@spacequack5470 it 100% depends on your build you goof
How does Company Tea work with carnivore? DO you get the same AP regen, but less duration?
10% regen full duration
Could you do a updated video on how much xp u get per mutant with out double xp
So if I am fu;; health commando should I switch back to carivor
for crit damage herbivore is still best everything else carnivore
Hey turtle how do you spawn in your workshops i dont find the fasttrafel matt sory 4 bad english
it's under miscellaneous tab
Herbivore is clearly not this strong.... but it really is easy mode collecting ingredients. Herbivores for the lazy gamer 😎
So you calling commando builds lazy then..? 😂
I just pick up the meat I of enemies I killed anyway, so me being azy includes not running around checking for plants that may have been emptied by other players already and then getting that 30s loading screen for switching server/fast travel just to get food. food does provide buffs, but purified water from industrial water purifiers give me enough stock so that I have them as my only water source on the quickbar, pressing one button to replenish thirst instantly
I will need to change to carnivore now 😊
You can be both at the same time but you have to keep taking syrum to eliminate the down sides. I have not tried it.
It works
I use the omnivore perk.
It lets me eat both meat and vegitable dishes at no negative.
I like to be able to use all the stuff i loot without having to worry about it.
I know i dont hit the max benefit from anything in particular but i get to stack everything.
It depends on what ypu want to stack..👍🏽
Have you seen Team FOLON YT channel's latest video for Fallout London. Gave me goosebumps.
cannibal time!
Lol i know this direcly after Update🎉🎉, thx 😅
Thanks for the interesting update on carnivore! But where can I find Backwoodsman 6?
randomly in the world sometimes player vendors
would you recommend carnivore for a non melee user? like a bloodied commando
no
So is carnivore now the way to go for xp and scoreboard farming? Where if any is herbivore still superior?
Do i need the melee perks or i’m good if i have food buffs?
good with food alone
Still too much hassle to craft it for everyday use, I will stick with Herbivore and Blight Soup as my daily driver🙂
My kind of player but it depends on your build mate..🫱🏻🫲🏾
I still have tons of live and love magazines and sugar bombs, so I stick with herbivore for now. But maybe I switch back to carnivore in the future.
How do you get more backwoods men? I have 2. How is this practical.
you don't need it all the time but it's good to know how crazy those bonuses get with the magazine
I think I missed why I wouldn’t want Yasmin to reach her station before looking at her inventory?
When allies are interacting with their camp item you can’t scrap it. You can’t easily switch allies in the same camp until they’re done.
What about the headhunter cheese I assume it's 1000
How are the tasty recipes obtained?
I'm waiting for the mirelurk steamer to be available again in some way before I switch to carnivore.
Waiting too xd
oh man, I guess I'm harvesting cranberries again.
I am ready! I have been stockpiling my carnivore foods as I work on my Unyielding Thorn Armor.
Merry Christmas, 🐢
Thorn is a PITA. Rolled hundreds of modules and steel, only got 1 uny piece, a nice one, tho: Uny/poison/cav chest
@@harrisonfnord5871 Talk about a Christmas Miracle: after reading your post I went a rolled all five pieces. One has reduced explosive damage and another reduced fire. Reduced poison would been nice, but just getting the pieces themselves is hard enough, right?
Yasmin chowdhurry sells all of the good food buffs
Is herbivore worse than carnivore now? And turtle for PVP i been using herbivore for the energy and damage resistance. The firecap and silt bean. Are thier versions for carnivore?
yes carnivore has better pvp buffs herbivore has better ap refresh and crit boost
@@AngryTurtle thank you turtle your a legend in the wasteland 😁
I dont understand why you say to stop them before they reach their allies station so you can shop yet you can shop when you talk to them after they use it????
when ally take the station you can't scrap it and you need to scrap it in order to place next one
Can you drink the carnivore serum and have it negate herbivore serum, or do you have to remove ALL of your mutations and start on a clean slate?
you need to remove mutations
@@AngryTurtle Thank you. I'll get to work on collecting them.
the xp buff of 38% compared to 25% on a team with cranberry relish is pretty big, but the low cost and efficiency of plants wins for me, you cant "grow meat" at your camp,
I remember year one when people used to say I was a “food build” because they had no idea of the massive boosts they would give, they thought food meant only corn and razor grain soups 🤣now it’s a god maker. 👏🏽
Yeah.."food build" used to be a perjorative thrown around by those running bloodied/unyielding builds. Ironically now that overeaters is a thing, bloodied PA builds are essentially "food builds" now
@@kazumablackwing4270 crazy how the updates make you adapt
How do I get these Allies?! This is so powerful.
Nom nom nom.
in terms of carry weight.. is it better to be carnivore, or herbivore?
carnivore
There carnivore buffs that boost crit damage?
The melee stuff is great, n hilarious for PA unarmed, but through for y'know, practicality speaking I'd value the crit damage of blight soup more. It just does so much
tea for 50%
imagine if an Ominvore mutation dropped LOL. maybe i can bring back my “Ole Reliable VbashingMinigun” for fun.
so which one is better for exp farming?
currently for xp both herbivore and carnivore offer the same bonus
thanks Turtle, thats why you the best 76 creator!@@AngryTurtle
I had a work colleague who’s a real carnivore. He doesn’t eat veg nor fruits. 0. 😂
Well being a bloody sneak vats commando build wouldn’t u say herbivore still better
for crits yes
If you're carni vats commando and want that little extra crit dmg, use firecrackerberry tea, +25% crit dmg. not as good as blight soup, but ... 🤷 can't have everything
Sweet mutfruit tea has 50% crit damage
@Angry Turtle I wanted to inform you that something has changed and you are no longer showing up at all in my subscriptions tab. I am still subscribed but I have to search for you and check for new videos.
Nevermind. It appears that I somehow became un-subscribed. I re-subbed and you're showing up again.
I’ll always be herbivore. So much easier to get xp buff’s
i just swapped to herbivore right before the new season. idc i’m not going back haha i don’t think it’s worth it overall
I will always be a carno
I'm sorry Turtle I don't feel the love
Your whole post is based upon having Backwoodsman 6 running, which is a rare drop and only lasts for an hour
And the TWELVE food buffs you show are not easy pickups but something you will have to grind for (for the most part)
And, can we all agree that melee is not effective at most fights, the ranged weapons kill the mobs before you can run to them.
I'm staying herbivore, based upon your earlier posts ( I do wuv you for everything you've done for the game)
The 10 food buffs I run are easy to accumulate with about 20 minutes a day of foraging, the chems take some time but only once a month (like berry mentats, psycotats, and Overdrive and the alcohol of your choice, ballistic bach or high energy whatchamcallit are easy to make.
I know most of the people I play with are carnivores, because they are challenged by carry weight issues, and I hope they gain some insight into getting more out of their builds, but when push comes to shove, my Herbivore build is doing more damage, and my carry weight is 485
P.S. Great job!
Great video as usual buuuuut being carnivore doesn't grant you any bonus for eating veggies.
So, it's not like being vegan or "eating everything else".
All weapons nerfed beyond recognition, but squirrel stew is the most powerful item in the game😂
Kinda frustrated. I was carnivore and liked it but switched to herbivore based on another video on XP. Hmm, maybe pin a note on the other video or remove it to avoid confusion and replace with an updated. I am a returning player like many others. Catching up on last 4 yrs.
is carnivore is still good
yes
Someone from ps4 to do west tek
A bit to much reliance on backwoods man.
i always liked meat builds over veggy because the ease at which you could kill scorchbeasts and their meat buffs were great stacked. but to grind out brain bombs??? three sugar bombs per?!!? and other great veggy buff recipes are a grind. but now holee 12 yao gui meats? at least mutant hounds are plentiful.
There's no reason I can see to plan on doing any of the Tasty level recipes other than Tasty Mutant Hound stew. It's the only one you can really count on having meat for, and the bonus is the same no matter which you cook.
Im guessing this is a pts server? Bc i still have 2x benefits
it's live, do you have strange in numbers perk?
I dont think i do whats it located?@@AngryTurtle
