- Heyoo! Here's something I probably spent longer than I should on! I'm not sure if I'm going to finish it yet, but it's entirely possible!

I can't believe this is 6 years old already. I remember watching this when it was posted. Gravity Falls was one of the first fandom I entered, and I never truly left it, and it also created my love of cartoons. When I first saw this animatic, I remembered being in awe. This simple animatic inspired me so much and made me want to create animatics and animations. It's been 6 years, and after all this time and all these moments where I told myself I could never do it, I'm finally making animations and animatics. Follow your dreams kids, even if it seems impossible, even if it takes years, you'll get there one day

The song fits perfectly Bill and Dipper's personnality, but gosh your animation even if it's rough, it's so well done, every scene is perfect the idea of the tongue and the eye movement/expression is amazing, you got a real artistic talent and material for storyboard here! :D I love it, I hope you can continue this and why not even do the rest of the song because the story fits well with Gravity Falls I think haha :)
But wow I would give so much to see this finished with an even more awesome animation, you could really do amazing things with this and that talent of yours :o

Yeah there's tons of little mistakes like that I make throughout the entire darn thing (if you look at Bill's eyelashes they don't always move with his eyelid, and now IT CANNOT BE UNSEEN MWAHAHA) But honestly the fact that people shake right hands didn't even get through to me. I probably would have let that slip through! Thanks for letting me know! :)
Marley Mango I'm glad you didn't take it as me being too nit-picky! :) At first I thought it was an artistic choice, and it kind of made sense that a demon would shake with the left hand (left has always been associated with "evil", so much so that the Latin word for left is "sinistra", which is where English got the word "sinister"). I was surprised when I went back and watched Dreamscaperers and Sock Opera to see how Gravity Falls did it and found out in both cases Bill shook with his right hand. I thought I'd point it out since you plan to finish the animation. You did such a great job; I hadn't even heard of the song before this, and it lines up so perfectly! I adore your other videos, and can't wait to see a full version of this. Good luck! :D

Haha I'm not done with ANY of it! Though I've had the 'finished' storyboard for this in my head for over a year. And I'll tell you one thing: ONE of those suggestions is correct! ;D

Very well done animatic. The song choice matches almost creepily well with the show and I think you were spot on with Bill's character. The way you did the scenes and cuts also really gives it that "Gravity Falls" feel (I can really see this being an actual scene in an episode).

May I just say, this animatic is amazing! I especially liked the part where Bill took Dipper’s tongue, there’s something about that scene that’s just so... perfect!

I WAS THINKING THIS! If I could animate and actually draw in general I would totally make it.
+PBCcreations I heard on the web some guy named mlndscape is working on something like it.
Ford being their grandfather wouldn't really make sense because
A) He was too invested in his research for a lot of social interaction. The closest person he had was Fiddleford.
B) He's been trapped hopping dimensions for the past 30 years.
Something interesting I did notice was when I was watching a recording of a Comic Con interview with Alex Hircsh and someone asked " In A Tale of Two Stans, their mother walks in with a baby, is that their grandfather?"
And Alex said, "Sorry, I can't answer that."
Alex doesn't respond to some questions for the sake of spoilers, but something as simple to understand as that wouldn't really needed to be protected unless there was some sort of twist.
A note, in Roadside Attraction, Stan says that he was divorced. That marriage was probably short lived, but it's some food for thought.
Patricia Molinari I know he's def not the grandpa in canon :p. I meant he fills the role of "the grandpa" in this particular song. Because he before Dipper made a deal with Bill. That's why it fits. Listen to the whole "Devil's Train" song :)

unironically this animatic changed the course of my life and creative work. it was one of my favourite things when i was younger and just getting into gravity falls, and introduced me to a banger of a song that went on to inspire a bunch of stories of my own

I saw this a while ago, and now I'm rewatching all my favorite Gravity Falls fanimations and such in honor of this amazing show that just came to a close.
This is utterly amazing. It takes nothing to think if a song and how it relates to something, but to put in action and display it like this - it takes true talent. I hope you're happy to hear that I've watching this over and over again for the last twenty minutes because 1) I can't get it out of my head, and 2) YOU DID SUCH A BEAUTIFUL JOB ON THIS OMFG. Heheh, now I'm gonna be dancing around the house singing this to myself. But, really, this deserves more acknowledgement.

When I first saw this, it was inbetween Not what he Seems and the Tale of Two Stans. It felt like this video mad me think of this What If situation where Dipper felt betrayed by Stan, ran off before getting the full story, comes across Bill, accepts his offer, rides that train and goes on a journey where years pass and he has become this Dark Villian. Glad it didn't play out like that in the actual show haha :D Nice work on the animatic by the way.

I was prepared for a cringe when I started watching, but this is actually pretty freaking amazing.
Everything about this is awesome. The atmosphere, the expressions, and movement and understanding of the characters. You _nailed_ it. Well first off I'm planning on at least finishing the animatic, and then I'll see how I'm feeling from then on. Fully animating a song (especially one this long) is a big ordeal (as you know), so I'd have to be able to give 100%. I would really love to, though!
