Your understanding of the different types of wood & the fittings used is astonishing. you have a real empathy with these materials & a wonderful set of skills to deal with so many different problems that arise. This old bookcase started out looking 'pretty tired' to say the least & the legs were a great touch, then on top of that you decided to have a go at frosting the glass doors & what a fantastic result! I so admire your thoughtfulness, sensitivity & ability to bring pieces, that most people would deem junk, back to their former glory & quite often better than the original. Congratulations on this one, Don from South Aust.
From one health worker to another, you have an amazing gift for making pieces of furniture that people throw away into a thing of beauty that can be loved all over again. Thank you for never disappointing and demonstrating how lovely old pieces of furniture can be 😃
I love your respect for MCM style and restoration rather than repurpose with a quick paint job. You are a true master of your craft and I enjoy watching your videos while having breakfast! ❤
I absolutely love the whole thing, but the glass takes it to a whole new level. I have never seen that done before. You constantly amaze me. Thank you for sharing!
Jay once again. Taking something plain and transforming it into a different type of beautiful piece. Love your colors as well as the glass work. No words to express how great it looks❤
When you asked if we'd ever seen this before and then peeled off the finish on the legs, my jaw dropped! What was on there?? I really hadn't seen anything like this before. Well done. 😊
@@Flippingdrawers A vinyl wrap?!? How odd!! I wonder if it was there for "gives you a choice of color, on the legs, and if you keep it on?! It protects the legs from damp areas!!" >>said in a excited announcer voice
@@Flippingdrawers 😆🙃 Keep doing what you're doing, please. You're bringing me and so many others, great joy and relaxation 😊 I hope, you and those you love, are well.
Another beautiful transformation. I've said it before and will say it again, you are so detailed and organized when transforming a piece. I enjoy your videos because I learn and I'm motivated. Any piece that you've done is done with pride and professionalism. Your voice is so calming too! (Hopefully, all those who are watching will subscribe!)
What makes me love watching your videos is the amount of attention to every single detail in a piece. You can really sense the love you have for your craft and each piece of furniture you restore.
WOW!!! Dude, this one was AWESOME!! I LOVED it! I could see a piece like this in a our Tiny House Airbnb. You have been really inspiring to start trying to find older crap furniture (the way it is now) and giving me the tools and understanding of how to go about removing the old and giving me new, different (AND better) ideas on the final finishes. (Being a woodworking for SOOO many years, it's always been the same for me. Stain whatever kind of wood I decided (or had laying around) to use. Then spraying on 3 coats of satin lacquer. Now you are giving me an acquired taste for the nature look with REAL wood and a subtle, enhanced finished look. THANKS!!
I think I have seen most of your videos and have liked everything you've done. This is no exception. I think my favorite part of this video was when you impressed yourself with how well the glass frosting turned out.
Your artistry, carpentry skills, patience and persistence amaze me! You are a true artist, with the vision to bring beauty out of the mundane! This is my new favorite channel!❤
Your work restoring the beauty of the wood is exceptional. I love the raised shelves that put everything at a good height leaving room for art above and seating below. Kudos!
I love the design on the glass. I just about had a heart attack when you weren't being careful taking the glass out. 😳😳😳 I'm overly careful, so I saw that coming. Good thing it didn't break. What a beautiful piece that now has a new lease on life. I love the whole thing, including the legs. It's so cool when things like that work out. Very nicely done. 🤎
You taught us some new tricks today! But, that screw! Honey, we need to screw this corner back together. Finds longest screw possible & he said, “That’ll do” 😂 You’re such a kind soul Jay. I always enjoy watching you work! As usual, sheer perfection 🥰
@@Flippingdrawers I noticed that. How bizarre 🥴 I bought a beautiful piece yesterday to use as a tv stand. It’s massive & heavy as hell, but it’s so beautiful, I had to have it. The previous owner painted it several years ago & I love it as it is. However, the bottom trim piece has a little damage on the side we see (of course) it actually looks like a piece of ceiling molding. Any way I could send you a picture of it? I don’t want to replace the wood trim. I just want to cover up the damage & try to find a paint that matches fairly well so it’s not so obvious. I think it’s the prettiest piece of furniture I’ve ever owned!
It is a glorious piece, Jay! I really LOVE the way you restored the tone of the wood. I think it is perfect! I think it was too brown and you have given it a luscious reddish golden tone. It is a new amazing piece, which is the magic you have as part of your skill set!!! Jay, it is just stunning! Your videos have me on the edge of my seat because your individual style just makes a piece shine. I think that pairing up with the challenge person is a great idea. But, promise me that compromise will work for the betterment of the piece you two do together. So honestly “WOWED”, beautiful Jay!

Fantastic transformation! You know, there is a point, usually around the time you're sanding the wood, that I begin to feel a touch of excitement, and PRIDE. An autonomic response to pleasure, I suppose. Then I sort of go into that part where I'm entranced, and while you finish, I watch every single thing you do and imagine how it's going to look. Pardon my weirdness. LOL But really, I enjoy watching you do your magic SO much. Thank you so much for the beauty you create. I LOVED the frosted glass and was honestly amazed at how easy it was. Please take care and stay well. Blessings....
Love how it turned out and the oil really bought the beauty of the wood out. I used to work in a woodworking shop and our biggest seller was Danish oil closely followed by liberon finishing oil. 🥰
All of your work is amazing but this one, for me, was spectacular! Thank you for saving old pieces of furniture and turning them into beautiful works of art. I hope that in decades to come someone else is able to take these (now older) pieces of furniture and revive them again.
