The drummer said for the album after the one where this song is from, he refused to play any more of the same simple Rammstein rythms and tried some different ones. And it worked brilliantly. But it of course still stayed within the realms of Rammstein.
Rammstein is one of those bands where it's not about each musician going to their absolute limit, but to play to support the song first. Thats way there are almost no solos, and certain songs are very fun to listen to but not as fun to play.
But in general being a guitar player myself i have found that more often than not the stuff that is really fun to play is often not the most fun to listen to. Though there are exceptions of course.
While this version sounds great for the production value of the live performance I still prefer the official video of the piano version. When you break down the meaning of the lyrics it brings it's own feeling of intimacy of fear. (As you may be biased as a bass player I may be biased as a classical piano player)
So glad you did this! It is such a fanatic song and while I love Till and Flake's duo, this song is just so huge - it almost cannot be contained.
Thx mate for the reaction and your ability to put words on and explain details in the music! I personally love the kinda "wet" bass/guitarsound in the verses and you put words on it :).
Great reaction as always. One of my favourite Rammstein songs. Has anyone requested you react to the official video for the piano version. Three times for one song may seem excessive but they are all very different and it is more about the performance on the official video. Haunting to say the least.

After listening to that part a few times, I'm quite sure, he said:" LAUT! LOS!" in German, which means:" LOUD! GO!" With Love from Germany.❤🤘

Hey Dave watching your reaction now and yes this is the actual original version of mein Herz brennt the one everyone is familiar with the piano version came waaay later both amazing even the Audio CD Version has a solo in it and this version has that amazing climatic bridge part towards the end really cool one of my favorite songs by rammstein and rammstein is my favorite band! Keep going man your channel is awesome!

O also some helpful information mein Herz brennt means my heart burns it's really interesting and seems to be about nightmares I love the emotion and heavyness of this song this live version is my most favorite version of mein Herz brennt!
The other one of my two most favorite Rammstein songs. Each version (studio, piano with/-out voice and live) is great and almost a different song while the same feeling remains. The live version is better in my opinion than the studio version, because of the synth part. That sound creeps underneath my skin every single time.
You probably already know this, but hey, can't harm multiplying it:
The song deals with nightmares. In the making of, Till said this about it: “Everyone knows the situation where you dream stuff you dreamed of as a kid - recurring dreams, and that was a subject worth looking at. Dealing with childhood stuff.”
The opening verse is from the “Sandmännchen”, a German TV show for children:

So incredibly simple, yet it perfectly nails the feeling of the song with no bells and whistles attached. Personally I'd give it a slightly higher score because I really feel this performance, but that's just lil' ol' me :)

Hey, I have another suggestion for you Rammstein Amerika (Live at Rock im Park 2017) No fireworks, just a never ending bad ass riff and very good drums!
I agree. Not my favorite song but super Instruments and live it makes hell of a Show. The Light is important not fire .

This is the proper original version. Just so you know there's a guitar solo in the studio version they don't usually play the same live when the flames come out.

I think if you had heard this version first . You might have enjoyed the piano version a slightly bit more. I thought I had also commented on the Piano version suggesting this version too. For some reason it's no longer there or never got posted. But I also seem to remember you "hearting" the comment. Whatever, doesn't matter. Enough of us got you to give this version a chance.
I lovd the "Aus Berlin" concert, there performance as well as the music really made me stand up and pay attention. My favorite song from that was Asche zu Asche, the version on RUclips is missing this song for some reason. That's my opinion anyways.

Mein Herz Brennt means my heart is burning, so that thing with fire was from his chest
Music sounds good. Lyrics match very well with the singers tone. Everything fit. It just sounds weird to me, though. It's probably just the language barrier.

It's not rammstein's fault it's the sound guy he was trash when he did the mix he didn't know how to bring out the mids on the bass , the guitars cut down some of the reverb and crank up the mids and bring in the keyboards up little brighter
This shouldn't be referred to as the "rock version" of this song.
It's the original album version (except for the solo which was originally a guitar solo).
I'm probably in the minority on this. But I've never been a fan of this song. Great lyrics and string synths but that's it for me.
