This game is amazing. The music, the humor...I loved the crap out of it, even if I never was able to finish Gentleman Mode. The game has only one glaring flaw, in my opinion. You can't re-fight bosses. I'd love to be able to re-fight Lance or Lady D or any of those fights, but every time I want to face them I have to start a new save file.
I was so happy to find that an even harder mode (gentleman mode) was unlocked after struggling through normal mode. It's very difficult!
One of the best DS game for sure, managed to use the DS design to create a unique and fun game. It's the only EA game I enver enjoyed, pretty sure it was made by some outcasts in the company.
I mean at least you get to fight the final boss more than once

Lance's boss theme AND the final boss them are both surprising bangers~!
The nintendo DS really provides some solid gameplay and this game is an example. Also I had yet to encounter a game that could rival the LOZ Phantom Hourglass gameplay. Such a unique and fun game

It's insane how much you have to focus on later in game. I never managed to beat the final boss, but had fun while I owned it.

Wait, so this game is simultaneously an action-platformer *and* a puzzler? I heard this game was hard, but that seems beyond my league.
It's not that hard. Via solving puzzles you can always get a health replenishments and power ups. Also there is the 'Robo Suit' which grants you invincibility for a short time.
it's probably hard if you're like me and you're clumsy at certain puzzles and have a bad time tracking two completely different screens

If you're playing on Regular mode, you really don't need to kill the enemies in the puzzle realm in boss fights (platforming segments are a different story). The enemies attack slowly after they get out of the puzzle realm -- especially if you have a lot of those regular drop block enemies -- and you'll generally have plenty of time and room to deal with them. And if you are getting cornered, you can always use your weapon's Up-A for a last ditch attack. Assuming that you don't just swipe your sword a couple of times during a calm spot.
Do not do this in Gentleman's mode. You will get overwhelmed.
Hatsworth's dialogue sound effects are friggen awesome and hilarious. I love them.
Something about listening to Lance's theme while watching him get juggled in the air really cracks me up.
Ah, damn. I had almost forgotten how great this game was. It's a shame it never quite caught on.

The lyrics are comprised of popular Italian words and Musical Phrases, all which do not form a song.
The lyrics are a whole gaggle of musical terms, strung together mainly so Lance can show off how handsome his voice is. :p
I saw this on a recommended video and thougth what the hell is this.... and then I saw... this could be fun!
This game had an interesting premise and some really well-done fights, but the penalty for letting blocks reach the top of the puzzle field was nowhere near harsh enough. This video does a good job of showing why you don't even really need to care about the gimmick that makes the game what it is.
If they ever make a remake they should make the block enemies tougher and do more damage than normal enemies

Watch from 35:21 it looks like his hair turns red when he powers up and is ready to fight like a super saiyan from dragonball z.
When he puts on 'magic hat' he becomes younger, so his hair becomes red.

I guess it's not for everyone, but every cutscene had me laughing.
I like the voices, but sometimes the way they were looped was a bit staccato in my ears. (i.e. the second boss, that lady, the way her coughs were cut short by sudden "yoo-hoos" felt slightly staccato to me.) otherwise, I like voices. They add something extra to a character, imo.

I don't know why but Hatsworth reminds me of that guy from Courage the Cowardly Dog who tried to swap a tote bag for the Slab, the guy who got bodied by the mummy and the guy who didn't speak English when Courage had to not only deal with an alien bacterium taking over Muriel's brain but also deal with the Sun going out.

man. when i got my ds this game came along with it and damn was it fun C: i never thought that a action platformer and puzzles could go hand to hand like that. also Lance's boss theme is just ten flavors of awesome. i always liked to imagine that he was singing it while he fought you. the way thw characters speak on this game may be a turnoff to some people but klonoa did it, banjo kazooie did it and they were smash hits also i think it gives thw characters a lot more of personality after all how can you not laugh at Lady's D voice?

This actually reminds me an awful lot of Wario: Master of Disguise, mostly in the dialogue and art style. I probably would've loved this as a kid.
