USSR Communist country had helped Indira Gandhi n India completely with full military power in 1971 Bangladesh war. During Indira Gandhi time, she could have easily changed India into China n Vietnam type communist country . If that happened, then we could have saved ourselves from 1980's Punjab militancy, radical Muslims' large number of riots in whole North India, ND Tiwari, Jagannath Mishra, Kamala Pati Tripathi induced heavy casteism in govt jobs, universitie n departments, caste related violence , then 1990's Kashmir militancy, Assam insurgency, Maoists militancy, Islamist gangsterism, mass target killings etc. After Communist country USSR's full security umbrella, Indira Gandhi by not converting India into a Communist country, had done the worst things, which had resulted her killing in 1984, Sanjay Gandhi's plane accident death in 1982 n Rajiv Gandhi's assassination in 1991. Within 10 years full two generations were wiped out n pushed India into a violent long brutal destructive phase for 30 years till 2010.

This guy kinda (accidentally) managed to piss off both Sri Lankan Tamils and Sri Lankan Sinhalas by intervening in the Sri Lankan civil war.
First,The Indian government funded "opposing factions within the militant Tamil Eelam movement",hoping this would fracture the movement with internal conflict in the hopes it would force them into a peace treaty or a democratic resolution,satisfying all parties involved.However this backfired,and later the government deployed peacekeeping troops with an agreement with the newly elected government of Sri Lanka to deploy a peace keeping force to bring both sides into peaceful resolution and to fight the Radical elements within the movement like the LTTE(A Radical Terrorist organisation fighting against the government of Sri Lanka for Tamil Eelam).
This war was a massive failure and pretty much antagonised everyone involved in the conflict.
When Sri Lanka had a civil war, Rajiv Gandhi basically sent the Indian army to "peacekeep" and ensure that the problems are solved democratically and diplomatically. This is for two reasons, 1) Tamils were being genocided. 2) He didn't want US or China to get involved and have permanent naval/air bases in India's backyard.
Most parties to the Civil war agreed to the ceasefire, except LTT (a Tamil militant group). There fore the Indian army fought and defeated the LTT, which many Indian Tamils weren't happy about. Some Sinhalis were also irritated, because he stopped their govt from committing genocide.
This video was a Sikh assassin. Rajiv didn't do anything to Sikhs. His mother (PM Indira Gandhi) did tho. There was a Sikh extremist terror group called Khalistan that basically were killing thousands and committing insurrection. Indira put this group down using National Security Guard, which ended in a firefight in one of the most important Sikh gurudwara (place of worship), that killed several innocent civilians along with the terrorists. While she almost definately didn't intend to start a pogrom against Sikhs, the amount of power she gave to the police for hunting down Khalistani operatives killed hundreds or thousands of innocent Sikhs. She was assassinated soon after the Golden Temple operation though, and never had the opportunity to stop the violence against Sikhs.

Some people resort To senseless killing despite their religious beliefs. How sad is this news? Before being a politician, he was a loving husband and a father. Did they not have the guts to express their dislike to his policies instead of killing him? 30 years doesn’t reduce the sadness we feel or the cruelty of killing a wonderful man. He was trying to bring India out of poverty, like a Holy man, he visited the poor, went into their homes in order to witness the suffering himself. I feel sad for him as well as for his family.
