Ive been sitting on a Z400 for a couple years just for a backup pc. Now come to find out my slightly newer 2012 Dell was unable to boot up with a rtx3050 gpu. so i tried out the Z400 backup and bam! it works!! so far my z400 has a X5690 cpu; 48gb corsair vengeance ddr3 1600mhz ram; an RTX3050; an AGW 750w atx psu w/24pin motherboard adapter; a sata 500gb samsung ssd boot drive and a pcie to m.2 nvme adapter w/2tb M.2 NVMe for game storage. I like my computer!
I am planning to get a GTX 1650 will it work right after installing it or do I need to do some kind of bios modification or something? By the way I have the latest version of the bios. Thank you dude, I hope you help me out, liked and subbed
I have Z400 and I'm waiting for w3690 cpu , although I just installed ROG Strix 1060 6gb, i have 8GB of RAM. What upgrade do you recommend next? Also before installing w3690 cpu can you make an video how to upgrade bios to latest?
@@UrbanOzzy cool, I will buy it this week one similar, but it have w3520,500GB HD, 8 gb ram, power supply 475w, I want to know if I have to upgrade the bios for w3680?
Any bottleneck issues when gaming? Been thinkin of throwing an RTX card in my z400 (x5690, 48GB DDR3) but my biggest concern is whether or not it'd bottleneck.
depends on the game you are playing. I buy rainbow six seige. When i had the RX 580, the GPU usage was 100%. Right now with the RTX 2080, it is still 100% but I can turn on every possible ultra setting! Just do it, its worth it
@@UrbanOzzy I mostly play single player games. Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Jedi Fallen Order etc. I'm mostly concerned with my CPU being unable to keep up with the GPU. I currently have a 1070, but I'm contemplating a 2060 super or maybe a 2070 if I can find either of them at a decent price.
i think it will work prolly need to upgrade the powersupply; besure to buy the powersupply to Z400 motherboard adapter also. the Xeon X5690 are pretty affordable dont for get thermal paste for the cpu
Still at the 3.9Ghz, I think I maxed out the 475W HP PSU and the capacitors it has... :'( I think the RTX 2080 Super will be the last card this system can take. Bare in mind, everyone moved on to PCIe x16 gen4, UEFI bios, better PSU, NVME storage, SATA III, USB3 + USB C..... This is why I couldn't go with the new AMD cards, they are all UEFI bios based. Therefore, will not work on HP Z400. Missing out alot of new features, but for strictly gaming. I can still hold on for a few more years...
so is an 8pin PCIe included or did you have to buy an adapter? I keep hearing it's only one 6 pin so if you could help with the confusion be great. I'm still waiting on my z400 but my gpu has a single 8pin

The bottlenecking must be insane.

If you actually watch the video you would know
the stock Hp z400 powersupply only has one 6 pin. a 6pin to 8pin x2 is only temporary solution .
