  • Welcome to my daily vlogs! TRAVEL. FOOD. COMEDY. SINGING. PETS. LIFE.
I upload a new video every day at 7AM EST!
    Vlog edited by Jeah Yason
    For business inquiries: mikeyjbustos@gmail.com
    About Me:
My bio is pretty random: In short, I am a professional singer/songwriter from Toronto, Canada who moved to Manila, Philippines which sorta became my Hollywood because my first RUclips channel MIKEYBUSTOSVIDEOS grew popular due to Filipino comedy videos. Meanwhile, I'm also a big biology geek who is obsessed with ants, so I built an internationally operating ant business supported by another popular channel called ANTSCANADA, and well basically, today I travel and tour around the world doing what I love so I wanted to start this vlogging channel, in hopes to encourage you guys to follow your dreams no matter how random, by showing you what happened when I followed mine! You just never know where life will take you when you listen to the yearnings of your heart!

Amazing aviary, living the dreams cant wait to see the final product! One suggestion is maybe put a perch on your levels since birds are social creatures they wanna be close to you when u get inside so having a branch that they can grab onto on a human shoulder level would be good, atleast what i think haha.

genuinely, out of everything in your house, i was the most excited to see this aviary be done, and what a dream it is to even just see. also, being very into houseplants but being in a very cold climate means i never get to see these plants i grow at full healthy stature and form, and as always i am awed at how it looks already, i LOVE how that cissus discolor will look as it grows larger and further. the pots are a really nice touch with the bowl shaped fountain things, bringing simple geometry to such a wild place really cements it as the real core of the house that it is.

So gorgeous and I am so happy for the realization of this gorgeous dream. 🐦 One quick question - have you considered building an intermediate middle narrow screened room/chamber (I'm sure that there's a name) so that when people enter/exit the gorgeous aviary, there is no possibility of your beautiful birds escaping into the house or outside if your front/back doors are open? No doubt you've seen them in zoos, butterfly garden displays, etc. One would leave the large atrium area and walk into little enclosed area and close door behind. CHECK TO MAKE SURE NO BIRDIE HITCHHIKERS HAVE JOINED YOU. YOU. Once knowing the birdies are where they belong, THEN walk from little enclosed area back into the home. No doubt you will have many people coming and going into your beautiful new home, and this is one way to protect your wee feathered friends.
I have had birds fly around in the home, and it can be scary and potentially dangerous for both the beautiful birdies and for you two!!
Just a thought, and I KNOW that you can make it elegant.
    Again, congratulations!

Ah so this is how it looks like with all the plants in place. And yeah I think the parrots will know to avoid the Weaver Ants; the mango tree growing in our yard has a resident colony of Weaver Ants, and the Asian Glossy Starlings know to perch on branches and twigs away from their nest. If I am not mistaken, Asian Weaver ants won't attack intruders immediately, right? Because I noticed that the resident Asian Weaver Ant colony on our mango tree will take up a defensive stance first whenever they sense a threat , especially when I approach a line of them going up the tree. If I may give a suggestion, I think a few large rocks and some driftwoodnaround the pots might look good in there in my opinion,as it serves to detract attention away from the pots and into the rocks and the wood instead, creating a more naturalistic look.

The aviary looks stunning, like that the large main plants have such different textures and color so theres more dimension and not just a blob of the same all over. The maidenhair fern is such a gorgeous plant, and I hope it thrives in the aviary, the roots don't need a lot of space if humidity is high enough so it might be possible to place some on the walls.
The chair you plan yo place so you can watch the bords from outside the aviary was stunning! Hope you also place a little bench or chair so people can sit in there to relax and enjoy just being surrounded by the birds.

This aviary is one of my dreams too. Loved watching it come together. The plants, the ants, the birds all in one place? Amazing! I used to raise canary and society finch and cockatiels in a large aviary. Everyone got along very well until I added a love bird. Be careful with the hook bills that you add with passerine(passeriformes - straight billed birds). That love bird killed one of the canary and snapped another’s leg in half. Can’t wait to,see your birds investigate the aviary. ❤️
