I divide and conquer. I bring my smaller bag with me that has stuff that's more difficult to replace and st least two days of clothing. I check my large bag. Then if I'm able to get to.my cabin, I ask permission to set my bag in the cabin (no unpacking. I usually put it in a closet. I keep my back pack with me that has my expensive things. And then go about my embarkation routine. Normally by the time that I'm back my checked is there. If not, I unpack my carryon so I have less to do prior to dinner.
