as a western Canadian i have been always drawn to Texas i don't know why maybe its the name maybe its something else... i never even been able to visit Texas... but right now the way the world is i am seriously considering moving there because to me Texas is the best
Please move to Texas! We love transplants! So many positives. From more job opportunities, entertainment options, colleges to choose from, mild winters....and so much more. What’s not to love!
Every part of Texas has extreme weather of some kind and since they started different types of drilling' we now have earthquakes and sink holes. Small earthquakes but those and sinkholes are starting to show up a lot.
Im fromcali and i lived in texas.... Neverhave i everbeen as horrifiedwhen i heardabout the tonados on thenews.. And it hit in north. West and south dallas, when i lived in EAST dallas... Ivenever been sooohappy to get back tothe mountains
Dana, tell them it's horrible and don't move here under any circumstances! We're damn scared that the interlopers, especially those from California, will turn our state in the hell holes from which they came.
Please come to Texas! We love transplants. Lots of job opportunities, higher education is a definite plus. A lot of entertainment options. Plus it’s now a melting pot which is wonderful means more restaurants choices, cultural enlightenment and if you are into religion a lot of options there too. Plus no state taxes! Winters are mild also! Win win!!!
Love FORT WORTH, more laid back slower paced large city. DALLAS is busy, crowed, very fast paced. There are Great, Good and Poor neighbourhoods in both cities. Great smaller towns around Fort Worth to the west, ALEDO, WEATHERFORD nice rolling land. Love TEXAS
These people wouldn't have a clue where those cities even are. But those towns are full of real Native Texans, not transplants faking being from here like the big cities.
Moving to W Texas in a couple months from California! With the cost of housing here, it doesn't make sense to live in this state unless your income is in the 6 figure range. Even if you live in a decent area, your spending all your money to simply just live. You will have no money left to enjoy yourself in this state.
I'm moving my family of 5 from Seattle to the Dallas metro area before this year is over. Can't wait. And before you all flood me with "leave your politics behind" comments... I don't think you'd actually want that. I bet your next paycheck I'm more conservative than you 😉
Plus side of high property taxes is that they are County and City based and fund schools, etc in your community. Meanwhile, your income taxes go to state capital and go out from there to politicians pet projects, graft, etc.
Thank you for giving the true good and bad about this great state. I was born and raised in San Antonio. Now I’m in N Texas. I love having new people move here. I just wish people wouldn’t try to change us. 😶
Dont move to SA it sucks, the traffic is horrible, every major road is under construction and its expensive to live in safe parts, theres lots of gangs.
I live in CA and have considered moving to TX for awhile. My hesitation has been the weather. Thank you for informative video. Property tax appears high, but considering no state tax and lower cost of living, possibly free college tuition will offset that. I think more details on crime rate would make you video more complete.
Don't forget the long periods of drought and water shortages. Some years, there is very little rain and we hover in triple digits for many months. Unfortunately with all the growth in Texas, I don't think we have the water table to sustain a drastic increase in population. The foundation problems were mentioned. As well cracked exteriors with brick homes are common.

Hello Dana, thanks for making this Texas Informative video, being a DFW resident and RE Professional who knows the Lone Star State pretty well since the age of 4. I hope and pray, that the Living God would provide the finances for me to move to some city in Texas, one day. God Bless you, Dana. :-)
Conservatives are always way way way way more attractive than liberals are. Funny fact I’m a conservative myself, but somehow found this to be accurate. I’m a conservative from NY but I’m moving this year to Texas..
Hi Dana. I'm hoping to move Texas in a year or two for a new fresh start. At first I considered living in Dallas because of the job opportunities and have a cousin who lives there. But I am considering looking into living near Dallas, so cost of living isn't too high.
