What drives me crazy is people [ mostly Americans ] who have no idea what a bloody verb or an adjective is. It's slowLY, secondLY, carefulLY, quickLY - and on and on. The worst, imo, is ''Oh, don't take it personal ''. Grrrrr..personalLY. Rant over, thank you very much LOL
Another crazy law introduced in Victoria that went completely under the radar and without any consultation whatsoever is the prohibition of any gold (& other stuff) fossicking even if you own the land!. Victoria is rich with gold all over the place, even under Melbourne and surrounds in very ancient, peculiar volcanic deposits. Anyway, if you happen to spot some likely quartz on your land and want to dig a hole for fun or there is a stream and panning with your kids (a metal detector also helps) you can't if the land happens to be in one of the many swathes of designated areas. BUT if you happen to be a huge multi-national mining corporation,....suddenly restriction lifted!

Maths and Mum definitely. That Whisky was already empty when he dropped it from the sound of it. I love that Bad Breaking shirt is fantastic. Here in Aus the coupon thing hasn't really taken off
It will not help. What it will do though is make every Aussie age verify and hand over full identity online. The government will be in control just as China does. it's actually quite alarming and most people haven't cottoned on yet. They are just blinded by it being sold as "helping children".
Just for you Ryan, Physics, Chemistries, Biologies, Histories etc. should also be plural (with an "S"). Just like in Maths there are many different sections to these subjects.
The study of mathematics contains several branches. Hence the plural. History and other studies are usually broken up and referred to their specific branches. "Maths" is an abbreviation of, "Mathematics".
Maths is an abbreviation of mathematics. Getting the math right is likely to mean that the house, bridge, skyscraper isn't going to stay upright for long because you used arithmetic but ignored the geometry and algebra.
The distinction is that it is mathematics. Notice that this ends with an s. This does not apply for chemistry, biology or history. But does for physics.
When i was in high school in Tas our compulsory classes was Maths, English, Social Science, P.E ( physical education) and Science which i think is called chemistry now.
My mum used to complain about unnecessary words added to sentences. Predominately 'what'. It now drives me nuts too. Eg. 'He got more than what he wanted'. Rather than, 'He got more than he wanted'. It's called 'Pleonasm' apparently. Using more words than necessary. Mum called it bad grammer. 😁
You can't say 'that's a fair dinkum' their needs to be something at the end, a fair dinkum what? Drop the 'a', that leads to further implied context, just say 'that's fair dinkum'.
RayGun's embarrassing moments have been surpassed this week in terms of cringeworthiness by Clare Anderson who performed a Welcome To Country speech many thousands of kilometres from Australia in a sparsley attended meeting room in Azerbaijan.
We still say maths. Because it is short for mathematics. "On accident" is becoming more and more common - I only used to hear it from NESB people, who have a reason for it. I don't think that survey about "mum" was done IN Australia. "Mom" is definitely American and we say "Mum". When the delivery bloke looked like he was going to drive off, I though "fair enough". It was obviously no packed well. But then he delivered it AND took the photo. I still only go to a walk-in barber.
The children social media ban is absolutely not popular, except for with clueless people who need government to raise their kids for them. Its an excuse to get adults to show ID when using the internet and for the government to gain ever more control. Too many of my fellow Australians need to learn some history
It's not about the government raising children, it's about empowering parents to restrict something that is EXTREMELY difficult to restrict. Yes, parents can try to limit their child's social media use, but then that child becomes isolated from and in some cases bullied by their peers for being 'lame'. Frankly, you just sound like a conspiracy theorist, so my comment is probably pointless.
@ nothing conspiratorial about knowing the basics of history. What a ridiculous accusation. If you can’t control your own children thats a you problem. Don’t foist your inadequacies onto the rest of us. Develop a better relationship with your kids. When i look around today i see countless scenarios where kids are yelling at their parents, screaming in a shop with the parent doing nothing to stop them, talking to adults with no respect whilst the parent just stands there doing nothing etc etc Outsourcing poor parenting skills to the government is what happens in coh mew nist countries.
@@BowieZ But youre right, putting in effort to convince people of your extreme ideas is so pointless, just give up and demand the government use force to get what you want.
We still say maths. As far as I know 'math' is only used in the US and Canada. It's mum and has only ever been mum. Again 'mom' is American. We speak British English, thank you.
Coupons are a huge thing in the US, while in Australia, we got rid of them in the 1950s. You guys apparently need them because everything is so expensive. Here in Australia, we have easier ways of paying for things.
I blame "do the math" (which got underlined in red when I typed it here). EDIT: RUclips will likely be exempt from the ban, so come back "OFF OF" the window ledge, Ryan. 😛
I still call it maths. I will always call it maths. Even when I talk to my American friends and my accent drops, and I used American words for ease of explanation to them, eg candy, cookies, etc, maths is not one of the words that I will change.
We always said Maths. It is short for mathematics. We don't say Chemistrys or Geographys but we tend to shorten them to Chem BUT they are singular not plural like mathematics. The influence of American TV has changed and will change lots of things - and it does annoy me. It's NOT the USA's fault. WE elect to adopt terms from the USA. The USA doesn't make us do this.

at 14/15 years old, I knew more about computers than any adult I knew. this social media ban would not have stopped me, if social media was a thing in the 90's. I guess the Govt. doesn't watch RUclips and see all the ads for VPN's
Sorry but you may not have noticed that the Social Media Platforms will be fined if an under 16 year old is found to have used their site, so knowing about computers and how to get around rules will not assist in the long run. The platforms do not want to pay fines for children breaking the rules, what will happen on the Platforms End?
I say maths. Mum ❤. I’m mum,Nan,Nanna and now Granny.
I’m Oma. Not a drop of Dutch or German blood x it was just my granddaughter’s second word. “Okay, that’s me!”
They don't care about kids, they just want everyone's biometrics entered everywhere for every thing.
That map is as good as many Tea Towels I've seen.
It’s the only time I’ve heard an American use fair dinkum correctly and in context.
Wow, he got it totally wrong, it was cringeworthy. I guess you idolise this guy
He completely misused it 😂
Mom is rarely used …mum and sometimes mam for those in northern England
and Wales, Ireland
What drives me crazy is people [ mostly Americans ] who have no idea what a bloody verb or an adjective is. It's slowLY, secondLY, carefulLY, quickLY - and on and on. The worst, imo, is ''Oh, don't take it personal ''. Grrrrr..personalLY. Rant over, thank you very much LOL
They also have trouble with the word bias, using when they mean biased etc.
Math, short for MATHEMATIC
But its mathematics, so its MATHS
;)
Being "shitted off" or wondering if something "shits people off" is a common colloquialism here in Australia.
Maths is the study of a plurality of disciplines
Yes, math p's me off too. It is Maths, because there are so many different kinds of Maths.
Coupons aren’t a common thing here in Australia
How is an ID check going to work for those of us who don't use our full name or our legal names on FB?
Am wondering the same - plenty of people can’t for safety reasons
12:20 - Fingerprint - Retina Scan - DNA match - Biometric ID
Ryan they are both the Same Thing.
Only the USA calls ‘Math’ - Mathematics ‘Maths’ is a multi-disciplinary subject. I failed maths, but I aced English (there is no such thing as American English, it’s a fantasy the USA keeps trying to promote to the unwilling English-speaking world, along with appalling spelling mistakes. Please stop the pretence that’s USAnians know anything at all. We’ve alllseen the videos where the shining youth of your country have demonstrated their level of knowledge and understanding.
Maths and Mum definitely.
That Whisky was already empty when he dropped it from the sound of it.
I love that Bad Breaking shirt is fantastic.
Here in Aus the coupon thing hasn't really taken off
If you zoom in, it's all over the road. 🙂
The language is English so basically it is maths ok
The Social Media ban thing is because of lots of young kids are taking their own lives over bullying online... :(
It will not help. What it will do though is make every Aussie age verify and hand over full identity online. The government will be in control just as China does. it's actually quite alarming and most people haven't cottoned on yet. They are just blinded by it being sold as "helping children".
Social media has ruined a lot of lives, so unless there is another way why not let kids have a life until 16 . Something needs to be done.
Nyou's not Noo's for News !
Maths is an abbreviation of mathematics. Getting the math right is likely to mean that the house, bridge, skyscraper isn't going to stay upright for long because you used arithmetic but ignored the geometry and algebra.
Mathematics- Maths. We always shorten the words.
Dude, going on vacation to Florida IS vacationing somewhere Weird. Its Florida!
The distinction is that it is mathematics. Notice that this ends with an s.
This does not apply for chemistry, biology or history. But does for physics.
It was always maths when I went to school (yes, it was a long time ago).
When i was in high school in Tas our compulsory classes was Maths, English, Social Science, P.E ( physical education) and Science which i think is called chemistry now.
Chemistry is only one branch of science. There’s physics, biology & others (I think - it’s been a while).
@judithstrachan9399 yep a it's been a few years since school 😆
We did science prior to year 10, a generalised course, for the HSC you have biology, physics or chemistry.
maths is short for MathmaticS
Regarding the T-shirt for the Olympic Brakedancer, look up the Wikipedia descriptions for the elements: it stinks and not naturally found in nature!😂
I'm an Aussie as in my husband I say Math he says Maths, we don't go there. 😂
Barium and bromide are those letters on the periodic table. Ba, Br. On that so called break dancers shirt
Funny they have been spraying barium and other things in the flies. Up high.
Rhymes with flies.
When we were young you could buy a plastic Australian map you could trace..I don't think his was freehand.. maybe Tasmania was.. boomer here
RayGun's embarrassing moments have been surpassed this week in terms of cringeworthiness by Clare Anderson who performed a Welcome To Country speech many thousands of kilometres from Australia in a sparsley attended meeting room in Azerbaijan.
The mis info bill was squashed good Sir 👍. New subscriber
Or parents can get off their arse and do parenting
When i look around today i see countless scenarios where kids are yelling at their parents, screaming in a shop with the parent doing nothing to stop them, talking to adults with no respect whilst the parent just stands there doing nothing etc etc
Outsourcing poor parenting skills to the government is what happens in coh mew nist countries.
@@BowieZ But youre right, putting in effort to convince people of your extreme ideas is so pointless, just give up and demand the government use force to get what you want.
Finally someone with intelligence 👏👏👏👏👍👍 Liam that is.
Dude, I'm about to watch your vid. I have to say, your thumbnail is one of the funniest so far.
No they were still around in the 1980s, but a lot were scams so the theme was phased out!
@ I haven’t seen a coupon in Sydney since the seventies. Maybe they were phased out at different rates.
@Jeni10 Yes, I think dry cleaning and pizza discounts were last, maybe Flybys!
Shopadockets
I was using Hungry Jacks vouchers until 2019, at least. I think app offers have taken over now. Pity my HJ’s app doesn’t work.
Florida candy is fentanyl.
Mathematics is shortened to "maths"... that says it all.
To find people under 16, you also need to identify the people OVER 16. To make the system work, they will need a National ID.
Just so you know the space shake is super delicious and the sundae does look like that. .The sugar is in the popping candy that is with them both. Just a quick question.. if you are dieting why the heck are you even looking at take away shops.
That’s because it’s mathamaticSsSSsss, ya bloody Hoosier. I’ll be damned if something as tame sounding as “Math” made me cry so much. ❣️
Just off topic. Mate, do you have a brother on here that does reactions as well?
His twin does yes
Maths - short for Mathematics, is how we traditionally say it.
9:14 Those Space Shakes are fucking delicious though i now know why...
Also, Blueberry. Space tastes like blueberries apparently,... yet smells like burnt steak from what ive heard.
Im not really up to date with memes, but i didnt know that 6 months later it was considered 'retro'.....thats crazy, to me at least.
Trolli? Looks like Gummi Worms to me.
Always maths to me me because it encompasses numerous things. Math=singular, Maths =plural. 👌🥰
RUclips is fine they can still use and watch that 😊
G'day Mate! here in Australia we say maths as it is short for mathematics....I guess that you use a shortened version of mathematic??? Cheers!
MathematicS ! We don't say it to try be be like how it's said in the UK. We say it because it's the bloody word! Two of the MANY that get right up my nose that have unfortunately taken hold are "I am in agreeance" instead of I agree and "REACH OUT" - what's wrong with "ask"? Can't hear that without getting the old Four Tops song "Reach Out and I'll Be There" playing in my head. Who the F did the survey on Mum - a Septic probably. BTW the Australian National Dictionary Centre has named 'Colesworth' it's Word of the Year for 2024. The term is used to refer to the perceived duopoly of Australia's largest supermarket retailers, Coles and Woolworths. You started Woolsworths but YOU ARE A TRENDSETTER RYAN!
Chemistry doesn't end with an s, mathematics DOES!
Always mum in Aus. Nobody ever uses the American spelling here unless they happen to be American.
Its maths because its short for mathematics. Perfect other example if you study statistics you may shorten that down to stats, no one studies stat.
