      Hola! You commented this 3 years ago and I’m wondering what your overall experience was with your Spanish tutor? I’ve decided to go that route and I’ve just finished 3 weeks with my tutor and I definitely feel like it’s helping but I feel like with a tutor is sort of hard to track progress or determine how long you should continue doing it for. Do you mind sharing how long you had a tutor for and how often you guys met and what the outcome is? Any recommendations for me as far as how should handle my situation with my tutor?

    Great links in the comment section but it would be helpful to have links to all your other videos on the subjunctive in comments as well.
    I have started to pause these videos every time you put up an english sentence and try to translate it myself. I find that this really helps me to listen more actively.
    Finally this was a great little review of the subjunctive in general. Since there are a nearly infinite number of example sentences you can always do another show about for example the preterite tence, but with fresh new examples.
    Thanks for all these great videos, I am off to review a couple of your subjunctive videos.

    What about if sea is combined with other words? Like "como sea" and "o sea"?

    • @kubakuba7786
      @kubakuba7786 3 года назад +2

      Yeah! I actually think this is what the “sea” request was about.... instead we got just a revision of subjunctive and negative imperative...

    • @magnusvir117
      @magnusvir117 3 года назад +1

      Como sea is Whatever, osea es ... Like, I meaann... Like your explaining something and then you want to clarify everything, to make the stiry short and you say... i mean... Its...
      Thats Osea.

    • @gerlautamr.656
      @gerlautamr.656 3 года назад +3

      "Como sea" can have two meanings, one of them would be "whatever" as a response to end a conversation, and the other would be "however (you can)" or "any way (you can)", for example:
      "Tienes que hacerlo como sea" means you have to do it however you can, or you have to do it any way you can.That's about it.I hope my explanation helps to clarify your doubt.

    • @gerlautamr.656
      @gerlautamr.656 2 года назад

      Comparing Spain's Spanish with Latin American Spanish is like comparing British English with American English.Everybody understands everybody.It's not that different.The only differences are the way Spaniards pronounce the letters "c" and "z", the use of the "vosotros" pronoun, slang words, and of course, the accent.Apart from that, the rest is the same.

  • @njneer
    @njneer 3 года назад

    I learned mostly by talking to people in Panamá and I would tend to say for example “Te quiero que seas mi amigo” and in the mom example “Mi madre me quiere que sea un abogado” and so forth. Are these good grammar too?

    • @gerlautamr.656
      @gerlautamr.656 2 года назад

      Your examples are wrong.You should say "Quiero que (tú) seas mi amigo", and "Mi madre quiere que (yo) sea abogado" (without the "a" between "sea" and "abogado").

    The difference between ser and estar would be more aptly translterd as Ser: you ARE something. Estar: You are In a State of being.....
    Estar: I am in a state of being on 5th Street; I am in a state of fear. You see the difference? It's obvious when you look at it this way.
