As a matter of fact Houston has the second largest Asian population next to LA. There are two China Towns. The original one is downtown and the other is located on Bellaire Blvd. There are 90 languages spoken here daily. Being larger than the state of NJ, we have 9 skylines around the entire metropolis including downtown and the TexMedCtr which is the largest in the world. Being founded by two brothers from New York, Houston is ranked second most fortune 500 headquarters. In terms of the Arts only Broadway has more theatre seats. Developers have the freedom to create. We even have a UK Upper Kirby with the red- London telephone booths and a Rodeo Dr. - Highland Village, River Oaks District home to President Bush 41. We are reportedly now the restaurant capital of the USA with more than 13K restaurants. Houston is also the Energy Capital of the world. NASA is another factor among many more that makes Houston the friendly GIANT that it is.
I believe it. For DirecTv to use resources to have equipment for international tv services in Houston. I was a DirecTv technician and had a few international jobs. It was a pain tho...Had to put up 2 dishes etc etc lol. Mandarin tv...So I believe it.
with 656.3 sq miles houston is bigger than any eastcoast city or even la , california so much is packed in big h-town you must drive 2 weeks to see everything
+jbthegrinder Chicago has underground tunnels as well....lol...yet mobs of people are visible all day long on the streets of downtown....something isnt adding up here...oh I know...its the people....lmaooo
Being from Canada I've heard of Sam Houston but until I saw the monument in this video I actually looked up the monument's background and history.... very interesting info.
Wide streets, simple building designs and few pedestrians. Doesn't seem very apealing to me but judging by the comments, most people really love the city. Could someone please inform me what I'm missing?
it has anything a person would want. and people don't walk much, its hot and humid much of the year and distances are great. downtown there is an extensive tunnel system where people can go all over and even shop underground. the freeways are extensive , buses are far fewer than most major cities. the route taken doesn't show the areas around the big buildings of downtown. that is very compact compared to the whole city. the only other part of town with any such large buildings is the medical district and the greenway plaza area to the west and southwest. oh, and the transco tower on the west loop. its the tallest building west of the mississippi. it has a rotating spotlight on top. the places with more pedestrian traffic are in the neighborhoods around downtown. lack of much public transportation, distance and climate sort of make east coast style big city foot traffic not practical . there is always something to see and do in houston, and the houston metro area would pretty much fill up everything from london to birmingham. :) its sort of spread out .
That monument was built higher than Washington monuments 555 ft, thus in defiance of federal law! It's a beautiful monument with the star on top. Back in 80s they claimed the monuments foundation was sinking because of subsidence in that area??
All of the negative comments are coming from those who live in cities where it's citizens are leaving in droves to become Houstonians and finally live the authentic AMERICAN DREAM so don't hate gather your things and follow them I promise you won't get lost just follow that trail leading to this Glorious Most MAJESTIC Emerald City of HOUSTON.
Funny enough, I actually know someone who moved to Houston :)... from Europe. I don't get why people think the city is so great, but I would love to hear from someone.
+Brian Sidi Then why are there so many black people living in Houston? You must be some asswipe from Dallas pretending to live in Houston to make it look bad.
+Brian Sidi as a black person from a real city.... Chicago....no worries...you can keep your oversized palace of boredom and lifelessness....There is nothing appealing about downtown Houston....where are the people???
+MrFilthy Mcnasty hahahaahahahah......40-50 years definitely...maybe even 60....these people are relics...its kind of cool though, like an artifact of American history.....gotta love Texas
Pasadena Born North Houston Raised....if it was me i would move to Pasadena To The Fairmont Area La Porte Area....You Are 5 mins away from fishing and also the waters of the gulf of mexico

This was the route of Santa Anna behind the rebellious foreigners, who were fleeing after being defeated in El Álamo

Anyone in Missouri City?
liked watching it
perfect music for the scenery... a bit depressing though...
Texas has a lot of frontage roads.
I got a question !! ......... Why the most of the united states roads are ruined ?
Not sure. I think the freeways in this video look pretty good. Texas has some of the best- designed and maintained freeways in the country.
Weaving in and out of traffic lanes: No Place But Texas!
Texas. The country Inside usa.
It's a state
where nature? here if you only see skyscrapers
I thought Texas would've been as a Cowboy country and not like that populated, with sky high buildings.
Idiot!!! Stop watching TV so much!
wasted hella gas
watch out there is a cop!
