Used to live off of S Main. My favorite place to live in the entire Houston metroplex, because you can access every part of town more easily than other areas
This is one of the better videos showing how green and also how dynamic the urban core of Houston is. I would have stopped the tour, however, when you were on north Main St as that part of town is a little outside the core and has not seen gentrification or improvement yet. Houston is a town for all but the greyhound bus station, as you passed by with the man spraying something in the air, needs to be relocated somewhere north of the city around hwy 59/69 and the 610 loop. There can be connecting bus svc to downtown but get that low life street activity out of town ...please...again...great video
I was thinking about the same thing.. westheimer rd , or Bellaire Blvd or briar forest rd or Richmond Ave.. main st is like the ten longest st in Houston
Westheimer is very long, going out to the west side of the Grand Parkway at least. It starts out as Elgin, in the Third Ward, on the Eastside. Bellaire Boulevard starts out as Holcombe, coming off Old Spanish Trail in central Houston, over Highway 288. It also goes all the way to the Grand Parkway. Main Street starts out in Houston/Harris County, at Beltway 8 on the SW side of Houston. That's 4 or 5 miles out to the SW of where you picked it up, just outside of the South Loop 610. I live in the RV park that you can see with a quick look at the beginning of the video. I've grown up on this side of town, and in the suburbs out South Main/Highway 90A, so I've been on this road many times. I wasn't as familiar with the part of North Main out past the Heights though, so that was nice to see. North Main is still very working class, gentrification hasn't gotten a foothold here yet.
Nice drive but this goes to show how TX sucks bad when it comes to wire spans for signals (first part of the video). Looks bad now just like it did when I was there over 10 years ago
Its not a nice walk at all. Majority of the buildings from Burnett St. to holiday inn is vandalized and people just out doing drugs on sidewalks. Needles and trash everywhere. Downtown is pretty cool though.
3:19 - 3:29 I love how that one car goes out of its way to brake check the other car
Awesome!
Do you know that Christmas Cafe was headquartered in Houston, Texas? Yes! It’s at Galleria Mall, and it’s at every mall in the United States!
My favorite thing to do.take a nice nighttime drive.very peaceful.
That was a nice sunset drive on Main Street
Looks like a little road rage going on around the 3:30 mark. Nothing new I guess.
Yeah they ended up turning and following each other down one of the side streets. Who knows what happened next.
Nice drive up Main Street in the beautiful city of Houston.
Thanks for watching
Amazing video Texas Mike enjoyed it
Appreciate it
One of my favorite places anywhere is that area along Main St right where it meets the Meacom Fountain....those old trees are EPIC!

I've been on Main Street. Nice.
Are we sure Main is longer than Westheimer?

Am I’m thinking y’all thinking
Not sure. Main looked longer on the map with the part that goes out to the Sam Houston (I didn’t put that part in the video) but you could be right.
According to google Little York is the longest st in Htx

I wonder what street in Xenia Ohio is the longest.

Power Pylons looks like Europe (Germany) 100 Years ago...
Wow, was that some road rage at 3:21 to 3:30 between those two cars in the left lane!
I mean it it Texas, what did you expect, good-mannered driving?
25:34 Metro Rail :D
